May 2023 Update! (Patreon)

Good evening, everyone! C.H. Darkstrider here with the latest update! It’s been a while since my last one and in that time, a lot has happened! So much so that this update might be a bit longer than most of the ones I’ve done! So, without any more beating around the bush, let’s get into it!

First off, I just wanted to talk about the recent chapter pushback I’ve had to do. It’s not something I like doing, but given that more recent events in my life have overtaken a lot of the time I’d earmarked for writing, I really had no choice. With life being as unpredictable as it is, when things pop up that need dealing with, I answer. This past month or so, a lot of things popped up and since most of my time is spent at work, I had to deal with these things as they came.

But I am keeping track of how much I’m missing and where I should be as opposed to where I am in my writings. As more time becomes available, I will be making up said chapters whenever I can. Though I want to just charge in and get things done as fast as possible, I remind myself that this entire endeavor is a marathon, not a sprint. The moment I treat it like a sprint is when I start going into burnout, and that is never fun for anyone involved.

Additional things are also being worked on, and some other ideas I have in mind are being worked on as time permits. I won’t say too much, as there are some things I would like to be a surprise😉! When these ideas finally drop, you’ll know what they are and I do believe that everyone here will enjoy them!

The next thing I wanted to bring up was something that happened to me in the past month and a bit. I’ve been talking with a fellow writer, Breakthebar, and it’s been interesting chatting with the dude. After talking for a while, the man was kind and generous enough to off me a slot in an anthology book he’s putting together with other writers! Needless to say, I was absolutely floored when he tabled the offer, and I accepted it!

So, I’m not only going to be helping with writing an anthology, I will also be a published writer!!!! This whole thing is more than a little exciting and a little scary too! But this anthology that we’re all taking part in will hopefully be the final push needed so I can step away from my job and write full time! This whole trip these past few weeks has been beyond amazing and I’m looking forward to getting this new project completed!

I know a lot of folks will probably have questions about this anthology and I will answer them as much as I can! Here are some of the details I can share with you!

#1. There’s a grand total of eight of us that are writing this anthology, all of which have picked a different sub-genre, but the basic theme of these stories is that they will all be harem stories.

#2. The authors involved are as follows; SilkStockingsLover, DarthAussie, Saktongmanyak, CorruptingPower, Fantasy, BlueDragonAuthor, Breakthebar and myself! I know, it’s a lot of writers, but that also means plenty of stories to be read!

#3. For those wondering when it will be published, well, that day is a ways away. My best guess going by the deadlines we’ve all been given is the end of this calendar year or the start of the next.

#4. When this anthology is ready, it will be released here for people to read! But, as per the wishes of the other writers, it will only be released at a higher tier than where most people are sitting at. For those who wish to know what tier it will be, it will be residing in the Honor Guard tier, as it won’t just be my writing, but the writings of everyone who is taking part in this anthology.

#5. For those wondering about the plot or the title of the story, I have developed those and am still in the process of figuring out the direction and what/who will be involved. I will say that the sub-genre in which I’ve chosen to write is in the Modern Scifi area. I will also say that what I’m looking at will have elements of Project Prometheus in how big it will be and elements of modern everyday life!

#6. Some folks might be curious if I have a plan on developing a continuing story out of this idea and the answer is that I already have! Haven’t crafted anything concrete yet, as I have a lot on my plate as it is!! But given the idea I’ve come up with, it’s just way too cool to leave it as a standalone story! I have a few ideas on how I want it to go and with what I have, it will be an interesting and fun ride for sure!

Well, that’s about all the questions that come to mind at this moment in time. If there are other questions you happen to have, please, by all means, ask them! But just know that there will be certain details that will be on lockdown until I get the go ahead to reveal them. Until then, I hope that what I’ve revealed has everyone as excited as I am for the creation and the eventual release of this anthology!!
