UGH!! I don't have the words to express how much I loved this shoot. I adore Dorohedoro, and Shin/Noi is one of my favorite couples of all time. I think they are soooo sweet and their dynamic is super cool. We wanted to recreate the moody atmosphere of Q Hayashida's art while still having the goofy nature of the characters shine through. I think we were out shooting for almost three hours? We ran around all over old Chinatown in Chicago for these. You know we ate some delicious gyoza after this.
Shin is my dear friend Kyra (kyrapan_ on IG or machtwotoaster on twitter). We have been talking about wanting to cosplay these two for YEARS! Since back in 2021 we'd been dreaming up this shoot.

The arm you see sticking out of the body bag is our lovely friend Bex, rosarybouquet on IG. She is a champ for letting us use her as a prop.
I love cosplaying Noi because she makes me feel so badass and strong. I've never thought about covering up my tattoos for costumes, but there are some where I feel like they ADD to the character, and this is totally one of them. It makes me feel even more confident with myself. :~) <3

This costume didn't have a lot of hand-made items. It was a lot of altering pieces I'd thrifted or bought to grunge them up to match Noi's manga design. I feel like most of the Dorohedoro characters could be really friendly designs for beginners wanting to make costumes. ( I don't think the DHD cast is available to purchase on any cospay sites)
