Hello all! I have been working my butt off on my newest Nami cosplay. I feel really proud of this one, and I'm nearing the finish line. Just need to do a lot of small accessories and look everything over to see if I missed any details. Here's a bunch of progress pictures!

The first batch is when I drafted the skirt pattern. The actual skirt is super skimpy and simple, so I opted to do two layers of leather, plus a plaid cotton underneath so it was much more comfortable to wear. I think the cotton peeking out has a really cute effect to it. I started by cutting out some rectangles and adding them to my dress form, pinning them together and then adjusting the length until I had something I was comfortable with. Once I had an idea, I just did a bunch of math to make my own pattern!

The wig is my first time ever splicing two wigs together, since she has so much hair. I crimped and straightened one wig, and then cut up all the wefts so that I could sew them together, and then into the wig. I had to hand stitch everything, but I think it came out really well. I'm adding some ribbon flowers into the wig for extra oomf and cuteness.

Right now I'm working on her necklace that she wears. I got plastic gems and made the gold rim out of eva form and worbla. I thought since this was supposed to be a viking look, it would be cool to not have them be a perfect circle? I tried a couple different methods but realized that since this is going on my neck I want to keep them as light as possible. They're attached with chainmail. My partner says they look like onion rings, haha.

I will have many more photos to share as I continue to work on this. I'm super proud of this costume and have already booked more than one photoshoot to showcase how hard I worked. I'm excited to debut this at Momocon, and hopefully show you all before hand!

Thanks for reading!
