Content

Hello everyone!
We've finally finished including all the features and content that were planned for v0.3.0, so this is the most appropriate time to bring you patch notes for the next version.

A colossal amount of work has been done over the last few months and seeing the final product that comes out of all that work is quite exciting for us.

So that you have an idea, the amount of new content is such that the playing time will have an impressive jump from around 5 hours, in version 0.2.6, to something between 8 to 9 hours, in version 0.3.0, considering only the main story. This new update is HUGE!

What you'll see from now on will be a retrospective of previous posts, for the most part, but it'll be worth it to get a general sense of the new content.

New Content

Starting with the new content, the new version brings the 4th day in-game, the day in which the MC will be responsible for buying a camera, meeting the girls, taking pictures of them and posting them on the Escort Forum, an online forum that brings together customers and escorts. Customers looking to meet new girls and escorts looking to promote their services.

The new content regarding the dialogues that will take place between the characters: MC, Beatrice, Luna and Veronika make up the new content at the beginning of this episode.

In addition, this episode will also feature the new game mode, Photo Studio, in which the MC will be in charge of taking pictures of the girls wearing various sexy outfits and then posting their photo shoots on the forum.
There are currently 4 photoshoots available, 2 for Luna and 2 for Veronika.
New photo shoots, featuring new girls and new sexy clothes, will be implemented throughout the next episodes.

This episode will focus primarily on the Escort Forum and show the perspective of the clients rather than the MC's or brothel girls' perspectives, since customers are also an important part of this scenario and could not be left out of the development of the plot.

Having completed the initial tasks for the day, you'll have another day of work at the bar and, during your work as a bartender, you'll meet a new customer named Thomas.

Thomas will tell you his story and tell you what made him start going to brothels.
In addition, he'll also tell you a little more about the Escort Forum, the online place where you made your posts promoting the girls.
This will help you to see things from a new perspective, understanding a little more of the context that surrounds the brothels, the Escort Forum and will give you a more humanized point of view of what makes people to be there, be it the customers or the girls.

To conclude this episode, you'll witness a sex scene involving Luna and Erika, one of the brothel's female customers. This time, however, you'll play a role that goes a little further than simply being the brothel manager. 😏

There are a total of 563 renders, 65 animations and 9 scenes that will compose all that was explained above, much of it being brand new content.
Additionally, content from our previous project has been brought back and incorporated into Living in a Brothel, in the form of the story told by Thomas.

Thomas's story was originally part of the Escort Forum game, a previous project produced by us, which was set aside so that we could do a superior job, which resulted in Living in a Brothel.

All this content was brought to Living in a Brothel, merged into the main story, as the plot of the previous game has points in common with the plot of the new game, and even a brand new chapter, which had never been released in the previous project, has been included here.

The content of the previous project was also adapted to the new game's systems, for example, the conversations that took place on mobiles were adapted to use the new game's mobile system, making conversations more dynamic and being able to be translated in real time.

Additionally, all of this content has also been translated into Brazilian Portuguese, officially adding support for a language that this content never had before.

The highlight of the new episode is the large amount of animations that the episode brings.
Most of the scenes are almost completely animated, and some of them have multiple choices during the sex scenes, like the possibility to choose where you want to cum at the end of sex scene with a certain female characters.
The work turned out pretty cool, we're sure you'll enjoy it.

New Features

This version will bring a lot of new features to the game, let's try to break them down so that you understand better about them.

Photo Studio Mode: This feature is pretty self-explanatory, it's a new game mode in which the MC will be in charge of taking pictures of the girls.
It's possible to photograph them from different camera angles, ask them to turn around, ask them to take off some clothes, to take nude pictures, etc.

Achievements System: This encompasses the in-game Achievements System, Steam Achievements, Achievements Menu and Results Screen, as all these new fetaures are linked together.

Upon completing a goal, a popup will appear at the top of the screen saying that you have unlocked an achievement. That achievement you unlocked can be seen in the game's Achievements Menu, which is present in the Gallery section of the Main Menu, along with the achievements you haven't completed yet. In that case, a short description will be shown next to each achievement, showing you what you need to do to unlock them.

Achievements you unlock in-game will automatically unlock on Steam as well, if you're playing the Steam version.
If you're playing another version and load your save in the Steam version, the game will detect the achievements you've already unlocked and release them on Steam as well.

The same goes for achievements whose goals have already been achieved during gameplay of the demo. Although the demo does not have the Achievement System, if you complete a goal during gameplay of the demo and continue playing in v0.3.0, the achievement will unlock automatically.

Finally, the Results Screen shows your progress in each aspect of the game when you reach the end of the game. This serves as a hint as to what goal you should try to reach to unlock the rest of the achievements when you replay the game.

Item Shop: A simplified way to buy items has been implemented. By clicking on an item present on the shelf in the store, you can buy it directly, something similar to what exists in popular games such as The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time.

Emoji Support: Emojis can now be loaded directly as text instead of having to be displayed as an image. This allows for simplified use of emojis. This feature was used to improve the icons displayed during notifications.

Loading Progress Bar: In the PC versions, a loading progress bar was implemented to give the player a better sense of the game's loading stage, instead of waiting for the loading not knowing how far the game is to start.

Improvements

Notification System - New Icons: As mentioned earlier, these new icons were added using Emoji Support, so they are displayed in text form.
With the use of emojis, it was possible to use icons that best match the purpose of each displayed notification.

History Screen: This improvement is intertwined with the previous one and also with Emoji Support.
We adapted the History Screen to display the emojis and text colors, as shown in the dialog boxes, so that the History shown is faithful to what was shown during the dialogs.

Completion Bars: Some game screens, such as the Gallery, have received completion bars, showing the progress the player has made towards unlocking all available images in the game.
This applies to all unlockables in the game: Gallery Images, Scenes, Tutorials, Music, Script Texts, etc.
This improvement ties in with the Achievements System, as we feel that giving the player a sense of progress will help them unlock the achievements they're trying to achieve.

Jackpot Count: The Slot Machine Minigame has been given a new status: Jackpot Count.
Each difficulty has its own Jackpot count, so the amount shown will change depending on what difficulty the player is on.
This was implemented to give you a better sense of how close you are to reaching the "Jackpot" achievement, and as such is tied into the Achievements System as well.

The overall game size has been reduced: All game images (including animations) has been compressed to make it much smaller, with almost imperceptible loss of quality in most scenes. This is useful because it helps to load files faster, ensuring a small performance boost, in addition to taking up less space on the player's device.

Tutorials

A considerable part of our work was in implementing tutorials for the new features.
This is the price we have to pay for adding new features, as novice players need to understand how these features work.
This is a very laborious part of development.

Photo Studio: A tutorial explaining Photo Studio mode features has been implemented.

The Inventory Tutorial content has been merged with the Exploration Mode tutorial: The title is pretty self-explanatory. We did this because we needed to clear space for the Photo Studio tutorial, and this Inventory tutorial was kind of intertwined with the Exploration Mode tutorial.

Gallery and Replay tutorials have been updated to include the new features: These new features are part of the Achievements System, like the Achievements Menu itself and the Completion Bars.
We've rebuilt the tutorials to include these new features and explain a little bit about them.

Fixes and Proofreading

Fixes: It has all sorts of fixes, from major game-breaking bugs to quality of life improvements such as no longer hiding the player name input box behind the virtual keyboard in the Android version. You can see more about each fix in the screenshots.

Proofreading: A considerable portion of the English text for Episode 1 has been revised and corrected. We hope this improves the understanding of the plot for english speakers who complained that english mistakes interfered with immersion, and that it improves everyone's experience.

That's all that's new in version 0.3.0.
In the first 4 screenshots, you can read the detailed patch notes for version 0.3.0.
In the last 2 screenshots, you can also read which of these updates will also apply to the new demo, version 0.1.7.

This post got a little long, so let's stop here.
We thought it's fair to bring a compilation of everything that was done in the new version, to keep you informed.

Cheers! 🍻
