Tapping can be use for different purposes. In Midorima’s case, he uses it in order to protect his fingers and nails of any scratch or injury that will maybe affect his shots. In Kagami’s case, we can’t barely see where his injury is, Riko said his leg, as in a whole, but i think its most likely to be his ankle. So she uses tape in order to relieve the stress off of the foot. It helps to increase blood flow in the injured area, and that decreases swelling which alleviates pain. The elasticity of the tape can also serve as support for the affected muscles. It naturally goes back to its original position, which takes some of the workload off of the athlete's muscle.

rebcorpse got it basically on the nose but you can also use tape to restrict movement to not over rotate or extend. I used to get my wrists taped so they wouldn't get blown back/ tilted while playing football. also if you have lets say a weak ankle you can tape it to where it stays in place so it doesn't tilt wrong. the lemons is just for electrolytes and the other vitamins in it that's just water to dilute some of the sour flavor. also if random cramping drink Pedialyte stuff is nasty but works like a charm. pickle juice and chicken broth work well to. (played all 4 years of high school football and was an athletic trainer for last year)
