Weirdly enough a witches magic power wasn't merely tied to just their offensive means, total magical power and otherwise.

A witches understanding of the laws of their individual form of magic could make said magic evolve and their own magical control greatly grow.

Just like, already over the last month Anna had already evolved her conjured flames from simple red to burning plasma white via understanding how oxygen and other gases would influence the tempature of her flames.

Though right now with Nana, her powers were 'just healing' so at this time it was time for the basics of biology.

"Every living being in the world is formed from cells which are in our blood. The saying, if it bleeds you can kill it. Does have it's merits as even tree's bleed sap when they are harmed."

I was going as simple as I could in explaining the science of biology as Nana's background was that of the daughter of a farmer. Not even a land owning farmer at that, she was as peasant like as it came.

So I was as patient as possible as I taught her the general stuff that fell within her power's perview with Anna likewise also taking notes to ask me later.

As Anna herself was a clear scholar in the making with how she absorbed information like a sponge.

"Uhm... What's a power house?" Nana asked in confusion as I said the hit line of how Mitochondria were the power houses within most cells in nature.

Which made my face twitch but still I continued to explain as best I could though I knew it was kinda a losing struggle as I recalled that Nana's powers only truly evolved when the Roland of the true timeline made a shitty microscope so she could see life in it's purest state.

Still her powers in healing diseases, wounds, broken limbs. And even regenerating lost limbs was going to be useful in this feudal era no matter what my powers were.

"Alright, that was a good lesson. Anna you go ahead and get Nana some ice cream from the kitchens. I am going to go get a drink and relax for a bit."

Anna smiled and she then said pointedly. "Hmph you better relax Roland! Or I will need to watch your every move with how you have been working yourself to death!"

I could only helplessly nod as the bright eyed beautiful blond led the younger brunet towards the kitchens and out of my office while I just relaxed in my seat.

But I didn't kick the two out of my office for myself needing a mere drink after all. A few days had passed since I had taken Nana into my service and it seemed that news of it had already spread.

As only a few of Border Town's resident's dared grumble about the witches I had taken into my custody. As the nobles and the people with actual pull in the church that resided here in Border Town had already fled to the Longshore Fortress for the winter.

And once those nobles and church people came back... All proud from using the money they fled with to the dukes territory.

Whelp they were going to have interesting reactions seeing their manors and the church tore down for materials for the walls and just fire wood for my poor suffering people.

Yeah I didn't give a shit about them in particular... But I coudn't help but wonder. "How did you hear about them already?" I asked quietly as I leaned back in my chair as I gently twisted my magical ring on my finger.

There was silence in the room. As though I was just talking to myself... But I could feel the foriegn mana in the room. I already KNEW who was in the room from my foreknowledge.

I sighed and said with a snort. "Come now... Spying on private lessons that affects someone's magic is just rude."

Then a soft voice rang out as a large knife appeared in front of me on my office table. "How did you know I was here is the better question."

I coudn't see who was behind me, the woman, the witch who stabbed her oversized dagger meant to go through leather armor into my table.

But I still said calmly. "I know of magic. I myself can use said magic in some small ways. So how could I not react and feel a magic that doesn't belong to that two sneaking through my home, stealing my food, and contemplating stealing my very people."

"So... Wanna show yourself?" I asked after a moment of silence.

The sounds of heels on the hard stone floor rang out and I laid my eye's on my lovely intruder.

"Nightingale." She said with a slight courtesy as she pulled out her thick and fur lined cloak in a dip of noble greeting.

"Roland Wimbledon, fourth prince... And lord of the castle you have invaded." I said calmly before I said more firmly. "So, what brought you here then?"

Nightingale was indeed a great beauty as like Anna she had blond hair. But unlike Anna's strawberry blond hair, Nightingale had gleaming golden locks and was much more developed in the chest area even with her cloak obscuring her form.

But her gleaming purple eye's were her biggest unique part of her appearance.

"I am part of the Witches Association. Obviously at hearing that the rumored depraved and vile fourth prince had taken two witches into his hands... I needed to check on my possible sisters." She said with a cold smile.

Though it then just hit me. In reality Nightingale was also passing through to meet with the Witches Association who were on some failed quest to find some 'Holy Mountain' a place in which they woudn't face the 'Witches Bite'

Said witches bite was the result of their naturally produced mana overflowing and causing great damage to the witches body.

Especially on their birthdays which would spark a flood of mana through their bodies as their magical cores evolved to output more mana.

But that cold smile... It was clearly a warning from her that she had been watching me and making sure I wasn't abusing said witches.

If I did. I woudn't have woken up as Nightingale's witch power was literally hiding in another demension so no one could see, smell, hear. Or find her in any way besides using other witch powers.

With an exhale I then said almost sarcastically. "I am glad to have met your standards then."

With Nightingale just giggling at my awkward expression as she drew a chair over and said. "I am glad as well. Now I do hope you don't mind selling some general supplies to a witch like me, oh don't worry I can pay. I just need to bring some supplies to my sisters."

Do you think the original is worth reading or is it a story with great potential that was squandered? Tftc

Ototsu_Yume

Definitely worth reading imo, at least until he gets his 'dreaming' powers, the whole fic just falls apart then, like it's written by someone else. It goes from a pretty smart read to some really dumb nonsense.

ZeroLink21

That sucks I hate when that happens it truly ruins way to many stories.

Azazyel

Yes as Ototsu says. Fantastic early read, then drops off weirdly
