Too Many Avatars Chapter 2 (Patreon)

Yin Panhua then quickly brought me across the Mountain Breaking Sect. Showing me how things worked here as I did need the advice... As it's not like this world had modern plumbing, so I had to quickly put together how to use the toilet and the shower system that used 'clean' water that was run off of the mountain peak the sect was built around.
Besides that, however, the giant panda spirit showed me the canteen where I, a paying disciple, could get better food then the commoner work disciples. As well as the library, and the training area's for paying disciples.
"So as someone new to Earthbending. What books and scrolls would you reccomend senior?" I asked the panda spirit respectfully as we were inside of the library.
He hummed thoughtfully and then, with a deep voice, he said. "As someone new to bending. You obviously need to learn the three hundred and sixty-one acu points and which ones relate to earthbending and the ones you naturally have open as an earthbender."
He took a breath and then continued. "As for scrolls on introductory earthbending, you can use to get a feel for it. To get a feel for your chi flowing through yourself and to find your activated acupoints more easily. I have a few recommendations for you."
Yin Panhua then handed me a half dozen scrolls after bringing me around the library and showing me how they were sorted. He finally let me off the leash as he provided me with three different Mountain Breaking uniform sets of robes.
All the while, the spirit was showing me around. We did pass by a good number of other disciples, but I noticed that they were all work disciples as well as a good bit older then I was.
And I wasn't de-aged to a young teenager or anything when I was transmigrated over... It was kinda weird that I didn't see any disciples closer to my age, whether it be paying official disciples or just work/servant disciples.
But either way, with everything on hand, I went straight to my small 'apartment,' or maybe if you were generous, you could also call it a villa of sorts, with a pep in my step.
Inside the home, built into the walls of the mountain, in the living/main room, and taking up much of the room was a large sand pit but filled with broken down gravel that was only like half a foot deep, maybe?
And it didn't take me long to realize that the gravel pit was a training area for doing soft earthbending from the privacy of your home, I guessed.
"Well, time to do some reading... And try to figure out these acupoints for how chi works." I muttered thoughtfully.
As I read the thick book of acupoints, it was actually rather 'simple' in how this world's power system grew to what it was. And even explained how the benders of 'canon' avatar were sometimes so much stronger than others.
"For your base element... You naturally awaken your qi points within yourself, leaving only fifty-one additional acupoints to open to exhale the first breath of death from your form. Thus, take your next step to unlocking the next element." I mused as I summed up what I read.
And while opening up the first fifty-one extra acupoints was 'easy' the hard part was breaking the limit and opening entirely new acupoints across your body to channel your qi into new pathways to channel other elements.
As the path of Earthbending had most of its acupoints around the spine and hips, which played a part in how rigid and uncompromising Earthbending itself was. While waterbendings acupoints was present in the lower organs as well as the major blood vessels, the bladder, the liver, etc.
Firebending's acupoints were around the lungs, the heart, the throat, and even on the tongue for some reason. And finally, airbending's acupoints were spread out around the head and in the brain.
'Is the reason Airbenders are almost all monks because their acupoints are almost all in the brain? And does opening the acupoints increase their spirituality at their core?' I couldn't help but muse thoughtfully.
After a few hours, I finished the book and then... Obviously, I went straight for the 'intro' scroll to earthbending moves and such.
"Yay for pictures!" I muttered with a grin as the scrolls had very small written sections on what I was supposed to be doing. Otherwise, it was highly detailed pictures in a row of naked humanoids doing exercises, with each motion being clearly pointed out and displayed.
"Well... Let's give it a try." I muttered thoughtfully.
Although for the acupoints I went over had those acupoints where I described mostly. There were still acupoints that went across the body in various places. Like Earthbending had a fairly large number of acupoints that were found on the feet, and arms for example.
Which was why almost all canon earthbending moves started from stomping your feet in canon Avatar. You were injecting qi from your feet through your acupoints into the earth to get it ready to be moved.
Taking the advice for new earthbenders, I removed my shoes, and with a hum, I planted my feet into the gravel sand pit, and with a deep breath, I lifted my arms into a stiff position before I stepped forward with a stomping motion that pulled at my spine with how far I stepped forward.
The moment I felt my feet hit the gravel, I felt a bolt of lightning shoot through my spine, and gravel was shot out from my feet in all directions as my qi exploded upon contact with the gravel beneath my feet.
There was a moment of silence as my advancing foot lay rigid atop the smooth stone platform beneath all the gravel. Then, with a groan, I collapsed forward as I covered my back with a hand.
But hey... At least the gravel was 'soft' as I lay on my side with a grimace of pain as my spine screamed.
"Ok... My earthbending acupoints are already open. They are not in my spine. That's crystal fucking clear." I muttered with a heavy groan as I felt my spine and back begin to vibrate and scream at my senses.
As though it was when you hit your funny bone and your whole arm felt like you just stuck it into a light socket or something.
I just lay there twitching for a good minute. Before I sat up, I said with an exhale. "Alright, time for me to try out this cheat to see if I got fucking jipped in my reincarnation," I muttered at the end.
Because let's be honest. A 'training zone' wasn't nearly as good as some kind of system or out-of-context power that could enhance my body even more. Even if other people could also use the training zone, apparently.
So, I was a bit worried about my growth of power in this world.
With a heavy inhale I flipped the mental switch lying within my soul. And then I paused as a large door with a thick frame popped out in front of me as I rolled myself back to my feet.
I inspected the door curiously before I shrugged and pushed the door open. And as I pushed the door open, a large open stone platform filled my gaze as I stepped into the door.
And as I let go of the door and walked in. The door itself disappeared from my view, but I wasn't focused on it. As a good ways away was a stone gazebo that was surrounded by countless runes embedded in the stone platform.
So I carefully made my way up to the stone gazebo and saw a number of dials and levers built into a large stone rise in the center and next to it was a metal plaque that described what the dials and levers did...
'Ok... Maybe this training area isn't such a letdown?' I thought with a smile crossing my face as the dials and levers did a lot of really good things.
The training zone itself was separated into sixteen zones, four for each element and within each zone I could control the zone's gravity, time dilation, as well as controlling things like giving the people within buffs like increased chi regeneration.
Each zone itself was a five-hundred-square-meter square and I could even combine the zones in their elemental zones and each zone gave a bonus for training that element within said zone.
And it was only as I climbed up into the control gazebo that I realized that far off to my right from where I came in. Was the water elemental area which had a large lake that also had several large ice blocks spread out across the lake.
Likewise, from the height of the control gazebo, I also saw a large pit that had flickers of fire coming from it but I didn't go around to go check it out in detail, as it's not like I had access to firebending or anything.
No I just focused on learning how my cheat worked, and it didn't take me long to figure out the dial that could enhance my natural healin,g so I turned that shit on as well as the chi regeneration buff that made my body heat up.
'So with the healing buff that can help me heal and strengthen my body from harm. I can mess around with more leeway, I suppose.' I mused thoughtfully as I took out the introduction scroll I brought in with me.
But as I took out the scroll and unfolded it. The scroll flew out of my hands, and I barely prevented my ass from tearing it apart as it flew away and over to the nearest earth element zone.
Still, I quickly followed it and as I entered the zone, the scroll turned into white light and then broke apart into two white blobs of light. And before I could react, one of the blobs of light shot into my head at a blur of speed.
'I know kungfu!' I mentally groaned as the movements were mentally imprinted within my mind. Not only that, but the acupoints mentioned in the scroll for the movements to more easily invoke the power of the earth were imprinted in both my mind and body.
As I opened my eyes in turn with the new knowledge in my mind. I blinked at seeing the other orb of knowledge had turned into a genderless humanoid figure that was very nude but was fucking weird with it's uncanny valley of no real distinguishing features.
"Uhh, are you alive?" I asked in confusion at the figure.
But I received no answer besides it turning to the side and then I watched as it slowly moved in deliberate slowness to use the first move described in the intro scroll to Earthbending in the Earth Shard Stomp.
Which acted basically as a frag grenade that exploded in a cone shape from the direction your stomping foot was pointing.
With a loud crack! The shadow's foot hit the ground, but its body also glowed with bright dots where the activated acupoints were used in the order of the chi flow of using the move.
"It's a teaching tool of the training space!" I realized as the figure did the first technique two more times before it paused and then just stared at me with that scary ass face that had zero facial features.
I took a deep breath, and then I mentally followed the path of acupoints used in the stomping technique. A loud crack rang out as the stone beneath my feet cracked... But I whimpered as I felt MY foot scream in pain as I didn't use enough chi to blast the cracked stone away from the foot.
"Fuuuuck!" I hissed as I could feel the training rooms ten times healing factor getting to work as my foot burned with pain. But not only that, but I could feel as my bodies energy was extracted to fuel this healing.
It wasn't a free healing factor... The healing came from my own body's stores of energy, but just sped up without losing lifeforce/lifespan in order to do the healing. Same thing as the enhanced chi regeneration.
"Well, at least it's progress," I muttered helplessly as I realized that I failed the technique. I didn't use the wrong acupoints this time, nor did I send what felt like a chi lightning bolt up through my spine that paralyzed me.
But as I lay there to take the weight off my foot... I couldn't help but wonder something to myself. "In the normal avatar world. Did the Avatar have all his acupoints open naturally, which is why he could bend all the elements?"
Beyond that, I wondered with how Ty Lee could block someone's acupoints to stop them from bending and locking up their nerves. Could she and her martial arts unblock someone's acupoints to make them stronger in this world?
-
I kept trying for another good couple of hours until I could feel my stomach roaring in warning to me as once again... The energy spent here in the training area wasn't free in the slightest.
But after the training, I left my cave home, which was actually pretty cozy, and I headed to the cafteria which was filled with a good number of disciples, who were all human, notably.
But at the cafeteria, I noticed that once again all the disciples were either very much adults or on the flip side... Very young instead. Like ages six to twelve young. And on the older side, being like eighteen to maybe early thirties at the latest.
But also among the older students, I saw that many of them had red stripes as trim among the sect's dark gold and brown uniforms. Maybe a sign of their rank in the sect?
Still, I got some food from the old serving ladies who worked in the kitchens, which was a pretty decent fare in a large plate of rice, chicken, bamboo shoots, and a large bowl of watered-down wine, apparently.
And so... After a moment of thought, I mentally shrugged and took an empty table as I didn't know any of my fellow disciples at all. And there were a good like twenty or thirty of them here at the moment.
I wasn't so much nervous about trying to be social, as much as I was very aware that culturally... I didn't fit into their cultural mold yet.
So I just ate my food in peaceful silence before a soft clicking noise landed beside me, and I blinked as a large man with a blindfold sat away from me with a plate loaded up with even more food.
"Excuse me." He said solemnly as he put his hands together to take a prayer with prayer beads between his hands, and then he began eating quickly.
After a moment, I asked quietly. "Why aren't there disciples in their mid-teens? And my name is Hayato Long. It's nice to meet you."
The man finished his bite of food and bowed to me slightly with his hands coming together as he said quietly. "My name is Gyomei Himejima... As for why there aren't young teenage disciples. This school isn't good for teaching beginner Earthbenders. The Mountain Breaking Sect's goal is to seal the northern mountains of Goaling afterall."
My face twitched as I realized why everyone told me that learning here was a bad idea. But I just took a breath as hopefully it wasn't so bad.
And after letting him finish a few more bites, I asked respectfully. "I am sorry to say I am still new to Earthbending. Is there any teachers you could recommend for some lessons on how to properly get started?"
A soft chuckle escaped Gyomei before he said thoughtfully. "Knowledge can be found in all things. But if you were to put your future into another's hands... Head not into the Sect Master's hands, for she will break you. Panhua will lead you astray as he is not human and cannot teach our ways."
He took a breath before saying. "There is several paths befor you, the spirit of the sect's mountain's trees in Shiji Eshu. The lost in Helim Ama. Or... The widower in Hanjin Niang."
I blinked before I asked in confusion. "Those sound like all women's names. You got any male teachers to recommend?" I asked with a wry smile as this was a martial world, and it wasn't at all that I was looking down on women. But I was curious as to why he wasn't mentioning any male teachers.
Still, Gyomei shook his head and said calmly. "Most of the male teachers do not reside on the mountain or teach within it's halls and on it's fields. They choose disciples and take them into the mountains to help them learn quicker, as well as get used to dealing with hostile spirits."
Whelp that was a fair point.
"Can you tell me about those, too. This Shiji Eshu, Helim Ama, and that Hanjin Niang?"
Gyomei took a drink from his heavily watered-down wine and as he gently placed it down. I realized that Gyomei was truly blind, as he didn't meet my eyes with his blindfold even as he looked towards me.
But he just shook his head and said quietly. "I will not color your vision of these three seniors who take their time to teach. They do have... Some issues, but they are some of the best teachers."
And with that, he bowed his head and said respectfully. "Please excuse me to finish my meal."
"Alright, thank you for answering my other questions." I still said genially as I went back to my own rather bland food, as the food, although plentiful, had no real flavor besides some salt and oil added to the cooking.
