To my senses, this ceremony or ritual to awaken my Silver Eyes was like overdosing on Malariya pills in my old life and having hyperactive dreams that made me just feel exhausted.

But as I awoke, I could feel the difference in myself besides the herbal taste that was stuck in the back of my mouth. 'So this is what the silver eyes are like.' I thought.

I opened up my eyes, and I realized that I had been moved onto a couch in one of the side living rooms spread out across the Rose mansion.

"Where did everyone go?" I muttered with a yawn before I pulled out my scroll to realize several hours had passed since I last looked at it.

So with a tsking noise, I sent a quick message to Summer and Ruby to tell the two I was awake and within half a minute. I could hear Ruby bouncing off the reinforced stone walls of the mansion as she threw open the door of the living room with a loud thudding noise.

"Jake! You are awake!" Ruby shouted with a really weird expression on her face.

Like... A really, really weird expression on her face. As though completely worried about something life-changing.

'Did someone die or something?' I thought before I gave a grin and said. "I can actually feel my Silver Eyes now Ruby! Wanna see what they can do?" 

And Ruby hurriedly nodded before she reached forward and took my hand. Then her hand tightened as she stepped backwards and then with the next step as I stood up from the couch. She was dragging me through the air as our surroundings were engulfed with rose petals, as we used her super speed to take us through the massive mansion.

Within half a minute, she dragged me down outside the mansion and into a long courtyard, and as we came to a stop. She said excitedly. "Alright, Jake! This long courtyard is just gravel made from a special anti-magical material and meant for practising magic. So go ahead and try your silver eyes!"

And then Ruby quickly moved out of the way and behind me, which reminded me how even Summer had to be extremely careful not to catch her allies in the rays of her silver eyes.

Lest they also get turned to stone.

I took a breath and then... It didn't feel like flipping a switch to activate my silver eyes.

 It felt like a thin film seperated the my eyes from the light energy that was already intertwined with my Qi.

So with that blink, the film was washed away and from my eyes came a flash of all-consuming white light that spread out in a cone from where I was looking.

And where I was looking, especially, was blasted with a beam of concentrated light.

As the light show faded, both Ruby and I went quiet as uhhh. We found out what my Silver Eyes did, and it was most definitely different from Ruby and Summer's eyes that turned enemies and especially magical constructs to stone.

Mine just seemed to annihilate all matter that came into contact with the all-consuming... No, all purging and unforgiving divine light.

There was just one issue currently. "Is your mom going to kill me for this?" I asked helplessly, seeing as most of the courtyard was just gone. It wasn't a smoking crater or anything.

No, a half-tube-like tunnel from my eye beam had carved through the courtyard, leaving naught but reinforced stone from below to stop Grimm from tunneling up through the ground.

"We are rich... She might be just a little mad haha." Ruby said helplessly as she took a picture with her scroll and sent it off presumably to her mom.

While I just face palmed. But inwardly? I was fucking estatic! I now had an overpowered move that although using a fuck load of mana... Even a Sage could be caught off guard by the divine power that made the eyes so powerful.

Then after sending the picture Ruby bounced in front of me with a wide smile across her face as she said. "Hey, also you kinda skipped lunch. So want to go get some food?" 

I nodded but as she reached for me. I pulled my arm back and said teasingly. "Calm down Ruby, maybe I want to look around your mansion and nice estate. We can take the couple of minutes right?" 

Ruby's face flushed a bit before she hurriedly nodded and said with clear embarrassment. "No problem at all!"

So Ruby and I made our way to the kitchens at the base level of the mansion where we got some fancy pasta salad and sliced mini sandwhiches that were spread out across a large platter.

All made by the half a dozen chefs employed around the clock for the Rose families total of two family members.

And you know what... Those were some bomb sandwhiches honestly.

"Hmm so what is your mom up to? Did the ritual make her super tired or something?" I asked with a bit of concern as I noticed that she hadn't sent me a message back, nor Ruby a message back either.

Ruby looked a bit shifty for some reason as she said with a cough. "She is probably just busy! Busy doing taxes and uhmm making sure the tennants on our land are paying everything they should!"

I gave Ruby a weird look before I looked around and said quietly. "Is she busy with like a little butler boy? I know you nobles can be weird. Does she have a faunus fetish or something?"

There was a moment as Ruby's went red at my words before she slapped my shoulder and hissed. "Jake! The Rose family doesn't molest it's staff... Uhm, I remember my grandpa who married into the family had a faunus second wife though before the Rebellion and purge." She finished with a far off look.

 "Did she... Die in the purges?" I asked quietly.

Ruby was quiet for a long moment before she nodded and said with an exhale. "Yeah, yeah, she did. You shoudn't ask that, especially to other nobles, as many nobles had their lineages torn apart when the Betrayal happened. My grandfather died-"

She took a breath, with her chewing on her lower lip before she finished. "That faunus used an Aurabane knife to slit his throat, then she stabbed his heart, and finally stabbed his head several times before she almost managed to flee."

I didn't need to hear what happened afterwards. Obviously, Ruby's grandmother cleaned up her house's issues in the most straightforward way.

I gave Ruby a side hug before I paused as she said quietly. "I never met my grandfather... But he only died just twenty-two or three years ago, so my mom was very close to him. It's why she doesn't like Faunus too much."

My lips curled helplessly as the Faunus rebellion and the purge afterward weren't something I could fix even if I became a god myself as a cultivator.

Because there was just too much blood spilt between both sides in this world of 'Might makes right.'

Either way, I refocused as Ruby cleared her throat and said firmly. "Anyway! So, how about we go play some snooker or pool in the game room? Or we could go to the theater and watch a movie or something?" 

I slowly nodded before I said. "Yeah, a movie would be nice." I less wanted to watch a movie, and instead I kinda wanted a bit of time to meditate to increase my cultivation.

And I was hoping Ruby wasn't the type to hold conversations during movies.

Still, Ruby nodded, and with a skip to her step, she said happily. "Alright! I will get a bunch of snacks and drinks. You can go ahead and pick out a movie for us to watch then!"

Thankfully, I already knew where the theater was on the second floor after Ruby showed me around so I just threw Ruby a thumbs up before I started heading over towards the movie theater.

Once I got up to the theater. I picked out a simple comedy movie which I thought would keep Ruby entertained, while I just sat down for a bit with my scroll so I could message everyone back at Beacon that I was alright.

And of course, I had managed to unlock my Silver Eye's though they were too dangerous to use without training at the moment.

[Prinz Eugen- Hmm then you best do your best to get control over them. I have seen church agents 'strolling' past Lady Luxanna's tower every few minutes as they are clearly waiting for you to come out.]

I hummed thoughtfully at Prinz's quick message before I wondered if the church actually missed me heading towards the Rose mansion... Or were they looking for leverage in my own people?

Did they plan to kidnap one of my retainers or shipgirls to have me surrender to the church or otherwise spread my genes to their nuns?

'Fucking bastards... Can't they just send a damned honey pot I can actually pump and dump? The only bitch they sent was some crazy witch who wants to literally rip my fucking eyes out!' I thought with annoyance.

I stretched a bit before I said with annoyance. "Fucking church. Wait till I become as strong as a Sage. I am going to spank that blind pope like an unwanted stepchild in the middle of a service!"

Even as I said that, I made sure to send a message to the group chat that had all my retainers and shipgirls to stick together and not run around outside of Beacon at worst.

After that, I just sent a couple of memes to Nora and New Jersey, who started a shit posting war with me until Ruby arrived with a trolley she was pushing that had a large platter with snacks and drinks atop it.

"I got the snacks! So what are we watching!?" Ruby asked excitedly as she pulled a table over to the couch with reclining legs, we were going to be sitting in.

I shrugged and said with an easy smile. "Dude, where is my ammo. I think it was called?" 

Ruby chuckled with joy as she nodded happily. "Oh yeah! That's a good one so long as you turn off your brain and flush any knowledge of weapon smithing into the toilet haha! Like, how could a four-barreled shotgun using slugs be the same a high end sniper ammo just because they are big ammo types, haha."

My face twitched as I realized I probably chose the wrong movie type to get a moment of peace and quiet.

So with a shameless cough, I said 'seriously' 'Ah yeah, also just a heads up. But I have a habit of falling asleep during movies so if you see me taking a nap, just let me enjoy said nap as I can still remember the movie as I am sleeping." 

Ruby pouted for a moment at the thought.

Before she paused and there was a weird light in her eyes as she nodded seriously and said. "Don't worry Jake! If you fall asleep, I will leave you alone, even if you lean your head on my shoulder, I won't get mad or anything!" She finished with a blush across her pale skin.

A small chuckle left me and as the movie started I just watched the movie for a bit before I naturally closed my eyes and I began cultivating.

Pulling the mana and other energies within the air into my body to refine and add to my higher qi... But, I could feel that also radiating from me was the divinity of the God of Light that I also absorbed even more easily.

'Hmm, so my eyes are basically minature cores of divine power that takes from my aura, magical stores, and external energy stores to refuel them with divine energy rather than relying on constant energy infusion by the God of Light.' I mused throughtfully.

But all the while I kept cultivating as I knew that breaking through to the next major realm.

And after a good while, I was broken out of my meditation as I opened my eyes to see Summer Rose in a tank top and short shorts that clung to her beautiful frame come in and after seeing us sitting next to one another.

Just smiled knowingly as Ruby's sneaky slutty hand that had hidden between us to lay over my own hand. Shot back to her own lap as the younger Rose flushed as Summer then looked the movie and then said quietly.

"Sorry, I was just curious as to what movie you two were watching. I will get dinner and cookies started in another half an hour. You two enjoy." Summer said with a wave before she skipped away.

Ruby then looked up towards me and her light flush turned more deep as she saw my knowing smile at how Summer was obviously checking on us.

But after Ruby looked away in embarrassment, I decided to tease her as well as my hand went to her lap and Ruby jolted as my hand intertwined naturally with hers before I brought our hands to rest between us again.

And oh... Ruby's giddy expression at seeing our hands together was utterly fucking adorable.

"Jake... What do you think of me?" Ruby finally asked quietly after a moment of silence. More like her gathering her courage actually.

I disregarded the movie, and I pulled Ruby into my lap with her squeaking in joy and suprise. I couldn't tell which one she was feeling more as she looked ready to break my neck with a hug or something.

But with her in my lap and forced to meet my gaze properly. I said clearly. "I do like you Ruby. You are a cheerful young woman who brightens my day, and you are fun to be around." 

Ruby, forced to meet my gaze, bit her lower lip before she smiled. And then she frowned a bit before she said somewhat quietly. "Jake, you aren't going to leave me alone for another woman. Or just have your entire life goal be women, right?" 

My face pinched in disgust at the reminder of Taiyang who, although very strong, was just a manwhore who didn't take emotional responsibility for the countless children he left behind.

Sure, he left plenty of money for the women he was involved with to raise the children... But out of the dozens upon dozens of children he had. He only raised, and was a part of Yang's life.

With no hesitation, I said firmly. "I am involved with other women and will continue to be, I fully admit. But I would never abandon you, Ruby. Especially as our relationship grows." 

Ruby stared into my matching silver eyes for a long moment to see if she could see any falsehood, and seeing none. At least with that smile, I thought that was the case.

She leaned in, and our lips met in a soft kiss as my hands went to hold her waist.
