Too Many Avatar's Chapter 5 (Patreon)

Helim Ama definitely seemed like more of an off-handed teacher as she gave me an allowance, and a meal card that would me to get better meals at the canteen.
That and she was also in her own words a busy woman who dealt with the bandit and terrorist extermination missions the sect would often be commissioned with by the surrounding noble families.
But as for me? With my new meal card, I went and got a good-sized bowl of rice and spirit beast meat... And dear gods, it made a difference in my ki generation.
I could literally feel the spirit beast meat being digested inside of my stomach in the form of a hazy heat that filled my blood with ki from my stomach outwards.
"Hmm, what with the world being so different. I wonder what I am supposed to do, actually? I mean, everyone is a cultivator asshole, and it's not like the Fire Nation is the world's whole enemy." I muttered.
I was lying down between the roots of a large tree that I, in fact, made sure wasn't the teacher, who was also a spirit who was born of a tree. And was staring up at the night sky as I mused about my future in this world.
The fact that the Fire Nation wasn't my enemy, or the world's enemy, and that Avatar Aang wasn't going to be roaming the world. Made me uncertain as to what my place in this world was, honestly.
I traced a finger across the dark ground beside me. My finger tip carving through the dry ground before my finger nail caught on a thin root just beneath the ground's surface and I paused at the sensation.
Then, as I brushed that finger across my pants to get the dirt that got caught under my fingernail. I paused as I saw something in the distance.
'Wait... Is that?'
My gaze caught onto the shorter form of a girl walking through the sect in a rougher more rugged form of the girl's uniform that had been cut lower in the skirt and had bands that tied the skirt around her legs as well as the sleeves being completely cut off.
But most notable was the long bangs that laid across her face, and the back of her hair being done up in knots.
For a moment, there was the confusion of doubt before I was reminded that I was further along in the timeline of Avatar so the characters were older than they should have been in the canon timeline.
So I was seeing Toph Beifong herself with a more mature form, which confused me a good bit.
For a moment, I considered going up to say hello... But then I remembered not to be a weirdo as not only did we have zero connection to one another. But also, she was the noble daughter of the Beifong family, and I was just a commoner/orphaned noble born to these people anyway.
Still, I was glad to see Toph had a fat ass at least. That was a hallmark after my day of training.
"Whelp that puts some energy into me at least." I said with a chuckle as I sat up and then I made my way back to my apartment. I needed to get back into the training zone cheat to learn more techniques.
As I had a feeling that Toph was already a stage two bender with how talented she was in canon.
Once I got back to my apartment/dorm. I swiftly went straight into the training zone and seeing the training dummy I nodded to it before I went to those technique scrolls before frowning as I wondered what I should learn next.
And after a moment of thought... I realized that sticking with the tried and true method of kicking a pillar up from the ground to act as a shield and then a weapon to be launched forward was the best thing for me.
Said technique was aptly named the 'pillar of heaven and hell' for a reason, as the description said that most Earthbending techniques followed this logic. Summon a construct, use it as a shield, and then either throw it as a large piece. Or break it apart as you kick the shards at an enemy.
"Ok... The form of a pillar is in its utter stability. There are no extra movements at first in creating a solid pillar, and other movements and acupoint activations will only shift the pillar's form, and density." I muttered as I memorized the scroll.
I took a breath and then, with a rumble, I fell into a sort of sumo stance as I leaned forward with a stiff back. And as my ki shot into the ground to manipulate it, a pillar of stone shot up four meters into the air.
There was a moment of silence... Then my face twitched as the pillar crumbled slightly, and parts of it fell apart. "I wasn't rigid enough with my ki... To make a pillar, I need to be as stiff as a diamond, I guess?" I muttered to myself.
I then looked towards the dummy who was seeing what I did. Did it much better and allowing me to watch how it's acu-points light up. And seeing how it did it, I realized I shoudn't have leaned forward when I pushed my ki into the ground.
I just needed to drop down with my bent knees in a weird stance still. But not the one I expected. But still it was progress even as I wondered how strong Toph was with her earthbending?
Could she be like Helim Ama and only need to make minor gestures, if that at all, to make the earth move to her will?
I brushed a hand across my face before I went up to the broken pillar I had originally made, and with a frontal kick, I blasted the loose pillar with my ki, and my chuckles rang out even as the pillar turned into an oversized claymore as rocks blasted at high speeds in the opposite direction of where I kicked.
"You know what... In a week or so, after I get some training, I will ask some of the other disciples for a sparring session or something. I would rather not be like that teacher who got cucked on her wedding night by a spirit." I muttered with a wry smile.
