Coming out of the Simulated Universe, Madame Herta then spent the next hour trying to figure out what my eyes did beyond bringing 'peace' to whatever I wanted. But I was purposefully cagey about it.

Because my Mystic Eye's of Death Perception was quite similar to a certain scary Emanator of Erudition's Knowledge Domain that could alter fate. I would much rather Polka not go after me, before we inevitably touch her limits with the simulated universe.

"Tsk, be all mysterious as you wish, Jake. The hunt to learn your secrets has its own appeal. Now go on ahead and run along. I need to focus on other experiments for the next little while." Herta said with a lazy wave of her puppet arm.

Stelle then aggressively pulled me away as she muttered with a pout. "It is time to eat! And March 7th has been spamming me with pictures of food as well."

Unsurprisingly for a Research Space Station, and research area for Herta's less dangerous experiments, which all basically had seemingly endless funding. The food here wasn't garbage as we quickly found the pink haired form of March in the caferteria.

"Oh, you two are in one piece! How did it go and-" March 7th voice drifted off before she pointed dramatically at me.

"What happened to your eye's Jake? Why are they glowing and looking so different!?"

I bit into my cheeseburger and, with zero shame, I said. "I unlocked the dark power within myself. Now I am cursed to see the truth of the world."

March 7th's face pinched at my reply before I said dully. "Not entirely a wrong way to put it... But also Stelle and I DID also die to the Aeon of Voracity."

Even Dan Heng, who looked so unflappable, looked extremely alarmed as he said sharply in a hiss. "What? The Voracity is... It's not here so how could it have gone after you and Stelle?" He added at seeing Stelle nod in with a dull expression at the memory of the horrible Aeon.

To which I explained what the Simulated Universe was, and how Herta's goal was to throw us in the faces of the Aeons with our data changed to look like Akivili or some nonsense. And the Aeon who 'found' us first just happened to be the Cosmic Devourer.

"I see... Even a faithfully simulated Aeon is dangerous as well. You must be more careful if you plan to continue to do such experiments with Madam Herta's technology then." Dan Heng said helplessly.

I slowly nodded as what else could be said. Honestly, if we came across the events with Idrila the Aeon of Beauty, or even more than half of the rest of the Aeons, we would be just fine.

We just happened to run into one of the most mindless and destructive Aeon's out there from the get-go.

"Well... Besides you both speeding running your way into the graves. Jake, Stelle, we need to find you both some hobbies for downtime!"

Stelle and I shared a look, with Stelle tilting her head to the side and saying calmly. "Hmm, if you want to come with me as I go back to working on my house. That's fine, also."

March 7th poked Stelle who was sitting beside her and said crossly. "Stelle! Breaking apart a bunch of storage crates for material doesn't make a wood cabin, nor does card board make a castle wall either!"

Then Dan Heng helpfully added. "Even if you build a fully up-to-code domicile here. You would still be squatting on Madame Herta's Space Station."

Stelle then looked to me and said naturally as a fact. "If it's problem with materials... Jake could you help me get some basic materials with your magic... You can take the couch while I take the bed for the bolt hole."

While this Stelle wasn't 'as' much of a trash panda as the memes of my old life portrayed her as. There was definitely a case to be made of her being an oversized rodent who naturally desired a hidey hole.

"Ask Himiko to ask Herta if it's ok if you can have your own little private house here." I said helplessly with a shake of my head.

This wasn't MY space station if I DID have my own space station. I would be rather pissed if some trash panda decided to build a hobo shit shack in the middle of a loading zone.

With a sigh, I leaned back into my chair as I took a heavy sip of my drink and pulled at the Imaginary Energy running through my body.

After a moment of relaxation, I looked to Dan Heng and March 7th before asking. "So what are Uncle Welt and 'Big Sis' Himiko up to?"

"Welt is talking with Arlan about the special curio we brought here on commission for Asta. And as for Himiko herself. I think she and Asta were talking about some Astronomy and such."

A soft clinging noise rang out, and my face twitched as Stelle gave my foot a nudge under the table with her own as she said with a smug smile.

"Heeeyyy Jake. Guess who has permission to build a small little cabin in the loading docks near the Trailblaze Waystation."

I sighed heavily before shrugging as I said thoughtfully to myself. "Well, well, I suppose my fate is to toil."

"Dan Heng, March 7th. You wanna come help Stelle build an actual log cabin? We can make bunk beds as well." I said with some wry humor.

And while Dan Heng who clearly liked his own personal space was clearly not to interested. March's interest was all to apparent as she happily clapped her hands together and said excitedly.

"Oooh! We could play board games and watch movies and download games and such using Herta's extremely powerful wifi connection!"

I actually smiled at the thought of Herta's face twitching if we somehow managed to run up her internet bill to the IPC somehow. Even if such a thing was impossible with the sheer amount of wealth that Asta had at her disposal.

Plus... The Astral Express didn't exactly have much in the way of room right now, especially seeing we hadn't cleared out the store room, which would have turned into Stelle's room.

I wanted at least some space where I could also be a pack rat and store souvenirs from visiting the worlds to come in the future!
