Super Gene Ascension Chapter 34 (Patreon)

We spent a good while longer just wrapped up between one another before we got ready to leave the safe area of the Black Steel Shelter. But as we were leaving the shelter we were stopped. By our 'arch-nemesis'!
"Soooo whatcha guys doin? I heard you are also getting ready to leave the First Sanctuary. Is that true, Jake?"
The speaker was the big titty bouncing form of Runeas, who was grinning as she and Yang Manli waved us down from the main gate leading out of the shelter.
I gave the camel-obsessed girl a searching look before I said bluntly. "I am taking Mio out to fill out the rest of our Sacred Blood geno points before we leave to the Second Sanctuary."
The two women paused with Yang Manli in particular looking almost pained as she sighed and said helplessly. "Jake, you really are making us noble children look bad like this. How do you even get so many geno points per animal you kill?"
"I am not picky, and I damn near eat the whole thing." I retorted bluntly before I asked. "So what are you two up to?"
The two shared a look before Yang Manli said helplessly. "Rias and a few others will be joining us later with the hopes of going on a hunt to fill out our Mutant Geno Points in particular."
"Might do another fishing trip then. Anyway, we are going to go find those water drakes down the river anyway, so you all be safe." I said with a casual wave as I gave Mio a gentle pull to follow along with me.
And I could feel Runeaus eyes laser-focused on us as we left, which left me to say rather dryly as we got onto Woody and I directed him forward. "Think that Runeaus is going to be as annoying as Rias has been for you?" I asked Mio
Mio exhaled in annoyance before she said with a light tsking noise. "If the family knew of a tribe of Sacred Blood tier camels. She would have probably thrown herself at your leg and thrown a tantrum to have you help her hunt them."
"But besides being a brat at times. Runeaus is just annoying at worst. Rias is the type to burn her bridges if she decides to throw a tantrum. But thankfully she wasn't there yet." She finished with a small grumble.
I hummed thoughtfully as I wasn't ignorant as to how Rias and Runeaus were basically carbon copies of their 'true' selves from the universe of DXD. But this universe itself was massive, and frankly, once I reached the peak of the Third Sanctuary, I would be far beyond the power of the DXD world.
To say nothing of the cosmic god-level of power I would unlock once I 'graduated' from the Sanctuary's fifth zone.
A slight exhale left me with Mio pushing further against me as I wondered 'who' else I would run into. As I most certainly wasn't against running into alternate forms of other protagonists from other universes.
Because in this universe, humanity, even with the Sanctuary, most definitely wasn't at the top of the totem pole.
'I hope that I run across like... Fuck I don't know, an Esdeath equilvalent; she would fit perfectly in this universe of hunting monsters and filled with strong enemies who want to literally enslave and eat us as cattle.' I mused to myself.
Hell also give me a Cloud, Kratos, or Galen Marek. I knew the Second Sanctuary, even with outstanding strength, wasn't something I could dominate alone with the Spirits that were innately stronger than humans.
My ruminating thoughts were broken as we eventually reached a massive bend in the western river to the side of the Black Steel Shelter. And in this giant bend where the water was deeper and slower.
This was where those water drakes were supposed to live as they preferred to remain underwater most of the day. And only came up to bask in the moonlight for some reason.
As for how to get a tribe of horse-sized dragon-blooded serpents out of the water... That was actually on the easier side of things.
I quickly sawed down several of the nearby smaller river tree's and with my superhuman strength... I just started throwing the tree trunks into the water, making massive splashes and noise.
As these water drakes were HIGHLY territorial and reactive to anything like boats entering their waters.
So after the fourth tree was thrown violently into their waters, causing a large splash of water was sent in dozens of meters in all directions.
Three of the large water drakes popped their horns and covered their silver-scaled heads up from the water to look at me with red eyes.
Then, with a loud crack, one of their heads snapped to the side with a splash of blood filling the air as Mio hit one of them in the head directly with a consumable Sacred Blood tier Arrow beast soul that exploded violently as it hit the monster's head.
I, on other hand took out several mutant-tier water arrow cannons and shot them towards the water drakes which didn't do much damage. It did what I truly wanted in pissing them off enough to actually come over and leave the water.
The large water drakes came out of the water with their short limbs helping them to glide across the ground even as the rest of their serpent-like bodies pushed them forward in a fast swaying motion.
I clenched my armored fists together and roared out as a golden aura from the Golden Lion Beast's Aura Beast Soul enhanced my body and armor penetration ability.
My fist hit the bottom of the lunging water drake's jaw that was so pissed that it didn't even bother to hit me with its infamous water beams as it came to directly to eat me.
A loud crunch rang out as its jaw gave way first under the blow before the loud crackle of it's many sharp teeth being forced into it's upper teeth till they shattered as it's head snapped back from the force of the blow.
I then took out my sword as Mio backtracked and helped divert the other two water drakes that were rushing me with other projectile weapons.
The Super Tier Sonic Tiger Saber carved through the Sacred Blood tier creature's scales and bones like they were barely there under the drive of my extreme physical might.
[Sacred Blood Tier, Water Drake Killed! Consume to gain 1-10 Sacred Blood Geno Points] rang out through both of our minds as the one I carved through died all too quickly after having its entire chest cavity split open.
'Huh, that one that Mio shot first just died in the water, actually.' I mused before the system rang out again as I stabbed the saber downwards into this one's head as it was bleeding out on the ground.
The last two weren't any trouble either at this point as the Golden Lion Beast's Aura enhancements made their scales and durability as a Sacred Blood creature a lot less of an issue.
Once the three water drakes that rushed up to the surface were dead. I called out to Mio. "You start up a fire. I am going to go try to find the body of that other water drake. We don't want to lose another four or five Sacred Blood points."
While there was very much diminishing returns for eating the same race of creatures in terms of geno points. But with these four, we were almost sure to get at least fifteen to twenty points.
And that was more than half of the Sacred Blood Geno points I still needed to fill out the rest of my body.
