With a good bit of food and drinks on hand. I expected we woudn't need to go around the dingy-ass side streets that made up the Tokyo slum district.

But it also seemed that my presence wasn't something that was easily ignored either. My cursed energy wasn't anything anyone could turn their nose up at. Especially after I ate that previous dragon monster.

So, with that all said, I just had to relax as no one would run up to the house of some probable 'curse user' trying to lay low in the slums, right? Surely no one be THAT stupid, right?

"I forgot that stupid people are innately stupid people." I muttered helplessly as I leaned against the cracked-open second-story window as I watched some utter dumbass climbing over the fence with another dumbass following right behind.

Not only were they dumbasses trying to invade the hiding spot of someone they probably thought was a criminal curse user who was lying low. They literally brought actual pillowcases to collect their loot in!

Leaving the sleeping twins in bed, I walked downstairs with a dull scowl as this was just bullshit. I literally just started squatting here, and now we were getting robbed!

Can't have shit in Japanese Detroit!

I just watched as twiddle dee and tiddle dum popped open the door with some kind of electric lock pick and as the door opened... I flipped open the light switch and said dryly.

[Fus] At a very contained volume so that the wave of force woudn't fucking destroy the house as it expanded.

Instead, it sent the men screaming across the small front garden and into the wall that surrounded the property, which was so common in the suburbs.

With a sigh I stepped outside and scratched my head with one hand before I went over and grabbed the two, and one by one... I threw them over the wall of my property while saying dryly.

"If you are going die of internal injuries... Do that off of my front lawn."

Because it turns out, when you have a nice wall just a bit taller then yourself around your property. It became alot less of a worry what was going on right outside your yard.

With those two idiots dealt with however. I didn't go outside, as I could feel the cursed energy in the air had been slowly rising as some curse, demon, spirit or some other nonsense decided to float around.

I for a moment considered calling out to see if they would come out into the open. But after a moment of thought, I realized that just shouting out for the monster or whatever unclean thing hiding in the dark was around a stupid idea.

So with a sigh I headed back inside and went back to sleep for a few hours before a couple of weak curses came around that I had to kill.

And that became my life for the next week. Weak curses, devils, and spirits were fucking... Everywhere outside of the direct control and powerful wards of the Jujutsu schools.

Which made sense why this world was in such an apocalyptic state even inside of the walled-in mega-cities that most of humanity resided within.

But barely fourth-grade and even third-grade devils and curses were something I could kill with a whisper at this point so it wasn't that big of a deal. Still, it explained why people were so determined to get into the Jujutsu area, even if it meant selling themselves.

"I am sorry you two... But it seems that your sister and parent's aren't here." I said helplessly as Anya and Alyx looked at their house with a forlorn expression.

Yet it couldn't be helped. I didn't dare actually use a shout to drag the soul of someone from the afterlife. I had no doubt that it would be extremely difficult and draining.

But also, who knew what kind of repercussions would follow from dragging a soul from its resting place when actual, literal Hell was a fucking thing in this world?

"We just... Wanted to see them again, to say that we are doing well at least." Anya said softly before giving my arm a tug to get us moving after I laid several Thum-based protections on the house.

'A powerful sorcerer squatting in one area is one thing. But one actually settling down long-term is something that people WILL look into. So it's time for us to get a move on.' I mused before I shrugged and put the battery and sim card back into my phone.

And while we kept moving, I sent a pulling sensation to Ui Ui so that the little white haired beauty would come pick us up for another teleport to another safe house.

All the while as I was doing so. My face became a wry smile as the moment I turned on my phone, I saw on the top left-hand corner of the screen. The geolocation app turned on to collect location telemetry.

"Whelp... Now everyone knows where we are." I muttered to myself but it should toootally be fine. It's not like a ninja squad of Hunters were going to teleport on my ass in an instant, right?

Then Ui Ui called my phone and her soft voice filled my ears. "Jake are you wanting me to come pick you up?"

I nodded and said calmly. "Yes, I spent a week here. It's time I moved to a different safe house. And I need to find out what the hell Toji is up to."

Ui Ui went silent for a moment before she said helplessly. "Jake... I would happily come get you. But right now, me and big sister are stuck in Las Vegas with a large group who is trying to kill the newest incarnation of the Gambling Devil for a big reward. We physically cannot leave the Devil's domain until the games end in three days."

My face twitched before I said helplessly even as I felt my phone vibrating hard as several dozen messages were being registered and delivered. "I understand Ui Ui, you two stay safe then."

I cut off the call with a double click, both from myself in annoyance and also the bleep from the phone.

And pulling aside the phone, my face twitched as I saw several messages from Toji that had just come through today actually.

[Yo, if you can get back to one of the Jujutsu schools and territory. Do so. If not, continue hiding and don't keep your phone trackable. The Hunter's guild is the one making moves and I already dealt with a few of them.]

Knowing that the Hunter's Guild was just as strong, if not stronger than the actual Jujutsu organization. I knew this conflict flare-up for resources wasn't just about me.

So after a long moment of thought, I just sighed helplessly and dialed another number with my heart sinking into utter despair.

And after a few rings. A frivolous voice spoke out in 'annoyance' [Ohhh, look who finally decided to return my calls after ignoring my top-tier memes!]

I sighed before I said in a tired and weak voice. "Big sister Gojo... Can I come stay at your house? Toji kicked me out, and I am a little homeless."

The line went quiet before a deep, perverted, and disgusting giggle came out of the other end that made Anya and Alyx shudder, even though I didn't even have the call on speakerphone.

[Ohoho! Well, well! That is the attitude I like to hear when being asked for a favor! So, what happened, who do I need to beat up, and how long you gonna bum on my couch?] Gojo said with a proud lazy tone as though it was nothing at all.

Clearing my throat again, I said more seriously. "The Hunter's Guild threatened Toji's family, so he is too busy killing people to keep an eye on Kyoto Jujutsu Tech. And one of the leader's of the Guild already tried to surround me and force me to join up with them."

A hum left Gojo as she clearly considered what I said then she spoke slowly. "Hmm... Pissing off those weirdo's from the Hunter's Guild, sooo Jake and what do I get from you in return for giving you shelter?"

"My undying appreciation and the knowledge that you are saving countless lives with the people I heal regularly, that even Shoko can't heal." I said with a dull tone.

Gojo tsked and said coldly. "Pshhh! Don't give me that moral kidnapping nonsense... I want ten healing slots a month for each day you stay with me to be used at my clan's own discretion."

I looked at my phone incredulously and said sharply. "Oi! Toji is selling slots to demand my time for literally a hundred thousand each! Are you really asking for a million just to let me sleep in safety!?"

There was no hesitation in Gojo's voice as she said with a happy-go-lucky tone.

"Yuuup! That's my final offer... Unless you get on your knees and beg, because I am still holding that grudge about having to buy you and your two hangers-on such expensive steak!"

My face twitched at that nonsense, and with a sigh I said quietly. "You know what... Fine you win Gojo."

I could all but feel the smug, bratty grin crossing Gojo's face before I made her heart shatter as I said helplessly. "I guess I have no choice but to ask the Kamo family for help. Noritoshi Kamo is still a good friend of mine."

And before she could say anything, I violently hung up on her!

"Stupid white-haired smug brat. Asking me to get on my knees and beg... You can beg my ass!" I muttered as I blocked Gojo's number so she woudn't lock up my line as she kept trying to call me back.
