As was further proof that this was an actual world, and not just Todd Howard's 'Master Piece' Reaching Helgen made it all to clear that this world was much larger then the game.

As Helgen was a major checkpoint between Cyrodiil and Skyrim for trade that would be heading towards the eastern and western parts of Skyrim that didn't just stop at Falkreath.

So this 'fort' of a village/town was more than four times the size it was in game. And as we rode in, I felt the hostile gaze of the Imperial troops as they glared at us.

Though those glares were clearly being aimed at Ulfric Stormcloak, who I was in this carriage.

'How the hell did Ulfric actually get captured alive and... Unharmed at that?' I wondered as Ralof kept telling the muttering horse thief to shut the hell up.

Until a soldier came over and hit the horse thief with a club. This shut him up as we passed through the heavy gates of Helgen.

The carriages soon came to a stop with an armored centurion of the Imperial Army calling out coldly. "Every one of you in these four carriages. Come down off the carriages one at a time. No running around, or the archers on the nearby buildings will put you down!"

We all got down... And as did, I watched the blond, fur-covered Nord that was supposed to be the Dragonborn jump down as well. Her form landing off the carriage with a warrior's grace that knew how to move clearly.

Then one of the scribes of the legion stepped forward to the blond and spoke in a less harsh tone as he was clearly a Nord as well. "What is your name, kinsman? I can at least make sure that you are sent home to be buried with respect."

The blond's voice had a strong tenor as she responded bluntly, even as I was somewhat disappointed she wasn't glitching into different races, gender, and looking like Shrek during the 'introduction'

"My name is Astrid. And, I am from Windhelm!" She said sharply and I could tell she wanted to call him something like an Imperial dog... But she also didn't want to insult her fellow countryman at this point.

No point in getting flogged before you get your head taken off after all.

And I very specifically made sure to stay near the back of the line even if NOT at the very back itself.

A priest of Arkay then cleared his throat and spoke out in a grand tone that cut down the surrounding noise. "Please Arkay. Allow these poor soul's into the hollowed hall's of their afterlives. Allow their souls to be at rest and-"

The priest's words were cut off by the rough voice of that one Nord I couldn't remember the name of who shouted. "Just get the hell on with it! You rat bastards aren't going to let us die honorably with a blade in hand, so just send us on our way to the void, you Imperial Dogs!"

That Thalmor Agent who was standing at the edge of one of the nearby inn's and watching with a damned cup of wine in hand. Called out in an arrogantly amused cadence.

"The Stormcloak's want a speedy way to death? Let him have it, no prayers for the rest then!"

But his voice was muffled as a loud rumble rang out in the distance with several mutter's breaking out as the sky, although very cloudy. Wasn't raining or showing any signs of thunder previously?

"Probably a landslide from northern valley." Ralof muttered helplessly as he gave me a nudge and said in a more friendly tone. "So brother, with all the jostling of the cart, I didn't get your name. My name is Ralof of Riverwood; where has these foul winds blown you in from?"

I chewed on my thoughts as, while I was a Nord. I couldn't say I was from Skyrim... Because if I ever went there with Astrid who was trying to not sound like she was listening in.

That could be very fucking awkward when it was proven I wasn't from there at all.

So I shook my head and said helplessly. "Came from south of the border. I was trying to reach my homeland, but this isn't the homecoming I expected."

Then the Nord who had been yelling had his own head cut off. And seeing that man's head fly off from the headman's large axe. That horse thief panicked and fled with a scream as he tried to charge towards the already closed gates of Helgen.

And this time... He was 'allowed' to run all the way up and till the gates before a loud voice rang out sharply. "Let loose!'

And dozens of arrows turned the horse thief into a hedgehog of arrow shafts sticking out of him, His form then collapsing almost silently besides the noise of his body hitting the snow-speckled road.

Then the Thalmor agent called out cheerfully. "Send the next ones, please! I prefer to take a drink as the axe bites into their rebel necks."

'Yup... I am going to fucking kill every Thalmor I see.' I promised myself as others were pulled forward towards their deaths.

But those roars became closer, louder, and a heavier thing carried a pressure all of it's own as Alduin closed in.

Finally... It was Astrid's turn at the block. She strode forward with a scowl as two imperial soldiers held her shoulders to prevent her from running before she was kicked in the back of the knee to drop her.

And as she was dropped down, and just before her neck even touched the block. Alduin arrived with a furious roar as he curled around the city and a blast of pure 'force' left it's dragon mouth and a house turned to a bomb of sharpnel that sent people screaming.

Another loud male voice rang out as General Tulis in his golden armor, ran out of the guard tower off to the side. "Archer's! Mages! Bring down the dragon!"

But his cry was for naught as Alduin roared again with... A blinding sheet of lightning slammed down into the city, making everyone blind and deaf from the force of the lightning.

I staggered out of the panicking lines of prisoners running away into the alleys and tunnels of Helgen. As the archers... They had a much bigger target to worry about.

'Fuck fuck fuck! Got to get to the main fort! It's got the escape tunnel to get the fuck out of here!' I mentally cried out as I dove down underneath a large cart to avoid being blasted by a fireball a screaming mage sent as he was knocked down off the tower.
