Some good news and bad news~ (Patreon)

So, bad news first, as you may have seen my lighthearted tweet I made last night about my GPU, it seems to be failing~ 

I was doing a test render of my latest animation, and after about 200 frames were rendered, all of my displays suddenly shut off, and tried to flicker back on to no avail every few seconds~!

I attempted to restart several times only to get the same result every time: my displays were black, and would flicker on every few seconds and not stay on!

But here's the good news!

I managed to get everything stable, underclocked my GPU, lowered the refresh rate of my main display down to 60Hz, disconnected a display, and set the power mode to optimal power instead of optimal performance!

I also got a lot of work done with my animation, though I do see some timing issues I want to iron out (I managed to finish the render later on after stabilizing my GPU, and have decided my animation might be as long as 45-50 seconds long in the end~)

It's only a matter of time before my GPU gives out fully, having RMA'd it before already, so I'm very very hopeful it can hold out until I'm able to replace it.

Until then, I'm going to be using render farms to render my works (I was planning on it anyway but this has expediting my decision~)

You guys are making it possible for me to replace it, one month at a time, I'm slowly getting closer towards my goal of building a better desktop solely so I can work even more on animations and the like~!

I may currently be a long ways off from the ideal desktop I can get for my works, and it is very challenging to get a GPU in this day and age, but eventually I am confident that because of you guys, I will be able to get past this and have a desktop I can be proud to work with~

So once again, from the bottom of my heart, I'm thankful for everything you all provide.

(And I suppose I should add, my GPU is a ZOTAC GTX 1080~!)
