Beta 0.5.1 Update Key (Patreon)

Hey there Patreon supporters and Foundry VTT community! I'm happy to share release notes for Foundry Virtual Tabletop - Beta 0.5.1, which is a odd-numbered ("stable") update which combines all of the new features added in the 0.5.0 release with a number of bug fixes and adjustments to make this release available for all Beta supporters.

The 0.5.0 update included a ton of great new features with a mix of backend and frontend improvements. Be sure to visit https://foundryvtt.com/releases/0.5.0 to read the full release notes for that update. This update fixes a number of bugs which should make this update version relatively stable for most users.

Providing Feedback

The feedback cycle for these releases are very important. There are many large changes where I will be keenly paying attention to feedback to continue building upon this new framework. There are three ways to provide feedback which I have ordered according to my preference. 

1. Discord Channel. My preferred method to collect feedback is through our Discord server where I have created a dedicated channel for Beta 0.5.0 feedback. If you are able to join our Discord community it's the best way to engage with me directly for feedback.

2. GitLab Tracker. You are welcome to create issue reports directly in the GitLab tracker here ( https://gitlab.com/foundrynet/foundryvtt/issues ). If you choose to create issues in GitLab please take extra caution to check that your problem has not already been reported by checking other recently reported issues before creating a new report.

3. Direct Email. If the prior methods do not work for you, please feel free to email me directly with your feedback (admin@foundryvtt.com).

What if I was using before 4.0?

Hi Greg, if you were pre-0.4.0 you'll need to do 2 things: 1. Read the following post to understand the data structure changes which occured at the 0.4.0 release: https://www.patreon.com/posts/31598789 2. Install the application using the above link into a DIFFERENT location than where your application was before. 3. Move your world data into the correct new data location instead of from the previous /public location Please feel free to ping me on Discord if you have any questions or need help.

When I download & run it, the screens for game worlds, game systems, and add-on modules are all empty. Your videos show that stuff should be there. What did I do wrong?

Hi D'artagnan - you're doing it wrong! Patreon is no longer used for access to Foundry Virtual Tabletop since the software is now released as of May 22 of this year. To access the Foundry software you will need a software license which is available here: https://foundryvtt.com/purchase/ If you had not realized this and pledged your support to this Patreon thinking that it would get you access to the software, please just send me a message and I will refund your Patreon payment.
