Did you know that an icicle that grows from the ground is technically called an icigmle?

At least that's the way it makes sense in my head...

Today I had a relaxing artful Saturday. I did a little bit of writing, outlining, and concept work for future videos, but mostly I walked a dogget, did arts, played lots of piano and viola, and made this little behind-the-scenes video!

Now I'm relaxing by the fire with a pile of art bits and books, and dogget is happily chewing a bone.

There's this weird thing happening where I have time to think again, thinking with my brain and hands and ears and body. Walks are good for thinking, and so is art-making. My head is no longer clogged with company politics or financial worries. I'm ice-crystal clear. And the extra weird thing is that I'm getting another pile of awesome art bits and warm things and useful objects next time I pick up packages (new tires almost fully installed!), and I ACTUALLY HAVE TIME TO USE THEM. How amazing is it to have time to do art and music and think?

I'm super excited about Project Butterfly so I thought I'd show you a bit of my day and also a taste of what I'm working on. I don't know at this point how much, or if any, of these hand-made arts will actually make it into whatever Project Butterfly becomes. As with most of my more complicated videos, hundreds of hours of work go into the thought process, concept, and research, and most of that never gets represented in the final product except through a conceptual clarity that makes the final work look effortless.

You HAVE to turn project butterfly into a video. It looks awesome! Or did it become the metachirality video?

Project butterfly is still ongoing! It's a longer project I'm working on between other things. My goal is to finish by the end of the year.

icigle to icicle --like-- stalagmite to stalactite ? It strikes me that 'words' actually are a big part of your art as are numbers. I like listening to you speak. Your prose flow freely around anything you are describing. And of course frozen crystal like water puddles that are hollowed underneath are 'hover puddles'. I like original words and phrases so I'm stealing that one. I enjoy knowing that you can clear your mind now and let it go wherever it wants to. You are an artist so of course art is 'everywhere' and you can take time to see it all now with an uncluttered survival mode mind. Please keep posting scenes like this along with math posts. Btw, Vi -- why is math always referred to as 'problems' ?

Oh! A Microwave! But with regular numbers. Oh. Butterfly. That's a good idea.

Really happy that things are less stressful for you now. :D

"Go, Tea! Go!" What a perfect video. So beautiful. Perfect, sleepy narration. Dogget cameo. Nice microwave callback. It would be great if there was a trailer I could share with the unsaved.

Lovely to hear that we are able to help you climb the pyramid of needs. :)

"My head is no longer clogged with company politics or financial worries. I'm ice-crystal clear" . wonderful. The video-art is so raw and refreshing

So glad to see 2:22 as the microwave time. I could never back someone who wasted time and movement to do 2:30 (note: this is a bad joke / but still 2:22 was the perfect time (unless more time was needed in which case 2:33 or 2:55 may have worked well))

It's interesting to listen to you speak slowly, softly, and casually, by contrast with your scripted videos. Although it does make it sound a bit like you're stoned. ;-)
