A second Pi Day Post!

Now that the Pi Day video is done, I started going through my giant pile of unloved inbox and saw that the talk I gave last fall at UNCSA is now up! It is titled "Art-Based Research for Immersive Media".

You can find it here, I also made a short eleVR post about it here. First eleVR post in a while; I miss that blog and that research so much.

I wrote a little about that trip after I got back in a post on this blog here, too, if you want more context.

Speaking of trips, I dunno if I mentioned I just got back from a week in Redmond to visit Microsoft headquarters and do some meetings, and M and I gave a talk at an internal event.

Next weekend we'll be giving a version of that same talk at RadicalxChange in Detroit, and I think this one will be recorded (or if it's not, we'll try and record it) so you can see what I've been up to with Microsoft!

I'm about as busy as ever right now but at the moment am getting paid both on Patreon and with extra support from Microsoft, and I gotta tell ya it makes a world of difference on my stress level! I'm really really excited about things.

Art art art art art,

@16:20 "This is art. We get to do what we want!" I like this way of thinking so much. Rules are for breaking them!

OK, OK, I have to say something to this. This made me think about so many possibilities from so many new angles. I wish that you had more time to talk about all the things you wanted. I am in no position to discuss the art side of things, rather the opposite, I am on the other side of the spectrum, the person who gets inspired by such art to apply it in the real world, but I would not think of it at all was it not for someone like you to inspire people like me. It is difficult for me to express exactly what I'm thinking, especially through a second language, but I am going through things related to what you were talking about and I hope I can apply at least some of it in the real life, be it teaching, utilization in tech or just being a better person. I thank you so much for this. You are amazing! And, please, *do* take this personally. 💕
