Today I'll let art do the talking, since I never know how to write word-based updates when my work updates aren't straightforward, especially since I don't write about things that are not work. My life is going JUST FINE, seriously, here is some arts.

The featured video compiles some footage from the HA4H livestream I do with M Eifler and Evelyn Eastmond, where we do arts for an hour every Thursday, and for bg music I grabbed a piano/voice improvisation from a few months ago. (I have vague plans to do an art to it with a proper camera and custom music instead of a livestreaming webcam and grabbing whatever recordings are on my computer, but that is a future and not a now. For a now, the above video is just fine.)

Some months back, I found that all I wanted to do was hot glue money together. So that is what I did.

It started with lines of quarters. Below is a screenshot of me doing lines of quarters over the stream, but even before that I'd do lines of quarters while taking meetings over video chat with important people, out of sight below the view of the webcam. It might not be pretty, but it's what the hands want to do sometimes while the head is busy.

Part of the process was picking all the money and glue apart again after it dried, leaving these glue ghosts of coins. I had all these ghosts of money. I gave some of them some color so that they could have fun together in the coin ghost afterlife:

More glue. More money.

Precarious towers of money. More glue. More glue!

Good work, glue! Now all my quarters are trapped in glue. Maybe they will get out someday. In the mean time, it is time to switch to clay. In this case, Sculpy.

I squished and stretched, and then cut out the middles of my squishing and stretching (using a single strand of my own hair). I put my stretched middles in a pyrex baking tray to solidify.

My first thought was that I would paint them, with acrylic or watercolors. But I didn't want them underdone. I wanted them to be extra stable, no wiggle room. So I burned my stretched middles just slightly, and they came out with a flesh tone.

See? It matches! Well, after I put makeup on my hand.

Good work, stretched middles! Now you can rest.

I used a beauty blender to apply foundation, and then an array of brushes to do contouring and highlights. I used bronzer, blush, and eyeshadow. I want my stretched middles to be beautiful. I filed their tips and used a classic bold red nailpolish.

Thank you all so dearly for supporting these endeavors, I think of you often.

Work in progress.

Work in progress.

This is a compilation of glue pours from the Hand Arts for Humans livestream, set to a piano/voice improvisation from a few months back. It is not meant for wider distribution as this shows in-progress work that will take its final form in the future.

I just wanted to thank you for the piece you wrote about gender a long time ago, it really helped me think through a lot of things.
