Thank you for calling out JKR! I grapple with this a lot with JKR and MJ. What I’ve come down to is if I’m not contributing to JKR‘s income I will watch it. However there’s a lot of tropes in there when you analyze it, including anti-somatic anti-trans, tokenism… I’m not sure if I would watch it or read it with a kid without having those conversations. MJ I’m the same thing, it’s hard to dispute the person he became, but he’s MJ. I think we all have to just kind of balance, and for me is that I don’t contribute money to their pockets. Obviously with MJ that’s no longer an issue.

I've had conversations with my boys about gender, how you shouldn't assume anything about anyone, and to never judge a person except by their actions. I really want to play the new Harry Potter RPG videogame coming out, but I really don't want to give my money to Rowling anymore than I already have by buying the books.
