Aww I hope army aren't giving you a hard time about the vocal line. I totally get you Bryan. I'm a card-carrying, merch-buying army myself, but as I am also a married career woman with a stressful job, the constant streaming/voting thing is something I don't have the time or inclination for. And I refuse to feel guilty or less of an army for it. I also don’t claim to love ALL of BTS songs. Anyone who claims to love every single song an artist has ever put out is either lying to themselves or confusing their devotion to the artist as genuine appreciation of their art. There are lots of BTS songs that won’t ever make my playlist. Like you, I began my journey with the rapline (Suga is my bias!) before learning to genuinely love their pop, R&B and EDM stuff. I don’t like ballads, never have, so it took me a while to get into Jin’s stuff (Jin & JK are now my bias-wreckers). Jin’s Epiphany & Awake had me bawling like a baby though, they hit me so hard. Neither of them are on my playlist but every so often I like to watch live performances or lyric vids when I need a cathartic cry. That’s what truly made me army anyway, BTS’ lyricism and messages just speak to me in a way that no artist has ever done before. Their song Paradise literally changed my life (please do a lyric breakdown i beg you). I hope you don’t feel pressured to react or like stuff, don’t let hardcore armys bully you! It’s enough for me that you get what BTS is about and you understand and appreciate the enormity of what they have accomplished. I keep going back to your channel because of your in-depth lyric breakdowns. We’re of a similar age and place in life so a lot of your “ramblings” totally make sense to me! It’s like free therapy for me, so thank you Bryan. As Jimin would say: You nice, keep going! Oh! I also grew up on grunge and alt-rock. Some of my all-time faves - RATM, Coheed & Cambria, Muse, Radiohead. The last new-ish artist I was listening to before i discovered BTS was Polyphia. I only casually listened to Tool in college, never dove into the lyrics. I've been meaning to get into them again because of your channel!

AMBER PEARCE

I really enjoyed this interview!! I hope we didn’t make your feel pressured about anything especially if you want to call yourself ARMY. You decided that. I feel that most ARMY will say this is what ARMY is: 1. Love and respect ALL seven members.(their is no specific way to do this) 2. Be kind to yourself and others. Also I totally I understanding not liking all their songs. Actually their are songs from all the members that aren’t my favorite and won’t be on my playlist… Anyways enjoyed your thoughts 💜💜
