If you have time, you can watch Suchwita ep.7 with Jimin where he talks about the album (Yoongi and Jimin's bickering makes my heart warm). You'll love it.

There is an awful lot of drinking in this album because, at the time, that is what Jimin was using to get through his day to day. He talks about this a little in the episode of Suchwita with Yoongi. From what I understand, he has pulled himself together. He probably still feels lonely, but I think he has found healthier ways of dealing with it. The inactivity caused by the pandemic took away a lot of the distractions BTS would normally have, so they were probably confronted with a lot of things they didn't typically have time to think about and didn't want to deal with.
