Fic Fun Facts - The Silent Prince Edition (Patreon)

this is for the real ones!

my very first jikook fic is called The Silent Prince, I posted it on ao3 back in March 2018, never actually finished it 😳

there are some fun things to say about it though!

1. inspiration

I remember seeing Jimin for the first time in Blood Sweat & Tears, and thinking wow… he’s like a prince! The initial idea was inspired by a scene in Death Note, where L dries Light’s feet on a staircase after the rain. I’ve always loved that scene 😭

I’d alter that a little and imagined Prince Jimin on a throne, ordering knight Jeongguk from another kingdom to kiss his feet. They would be rivals, Jeongguk would absolutely hate it while Jimin would bask in it.

2. What actually happened

I wanted more of a mystery twist to the story, took heavy inspiration from all types of historical fantasy, and made Jimin a selective mute, pretending to be deaf. Honestly I have no idea why?? Wish I could ask my 19 year old self what she was thinking then.

the whole rival thing also got lost in the sauce and I made it strangers to lovers instead, with a huge backstory to jk

3. Writing style

If you open the first chapter of the silent prince, you’ll probably notice how extremely different it is from what I write now: it’s past tense and quite lengthy (and kinda boring omg)

I used to think “the more descriptive, the better.” I didn’t know my strength was dialogue, it’s hilarious that I made jimin a selective mute in this story so there is little to no dialogue at all 😭😭😭 the whole story relies heavily on body language

4. Plot?

Listen…. I did not have a plot the first 3 chapters? I had a vague idea of what I wanted to write, but really no clue where it was headed. I ended up making a plot on the phone with a friend 😭

5. Feet 🦶🏻

I have no foot fetish, I don’t know what happened in chapter 3😭 I just loved the idea of Jimin sitting on either a throne or another higher platform, and Jeongguk kneeling in front of him, kissing his feet. I think it’s still one of the most long/descriptive scenes I’ve written about feet ever

did get a lot of comments saying “I don’t have a foot fetish but this was kinda..” which made me feel confident writing more unhinged weird things later on in Like One Of Your French Girls for example where Jeongguk uses a paintbrush on Jimin’s cock and stuff

6. Sexual tension

I think this is the first time I started writing sexual tension based solely on eye contact, written letters, body language, stolen touches under tables, dancing.

I remember loving the idea of Jeongguk bowing to Jimin, and Jimin just basically getting off to that (mentally/ maybe also physically in his room lmao)

I think right now I wouldn’t be able to write sexual tension without dialogue quite like that!

7. Afraid of writing smut!!

I was terrified to write smut, I hadn’t actually written much actual sex scenes at this point, and I had no confidence that i’d write it well. I’m still kind of insecure about writing sex scenes, I feel like they often lack the addictive dialogue of scenes with sexual tension, and the exciting part of that moment kind of breaks when the sex begins imo.

anyway, the silent prince never got a sex scene just weird earring licking, tongue in ear action, finger sucking, mattress humping, thigh touching and!! Toe sucking 🦶🏻

7. No end

I never actually intended to write this as a full story, I just wanted to write about Jimin’s feet I guess? the entire plot came in later, I even changed things in earlier chapters later on to match the plotline along the way 😭😭😭 so for people who actually read this story: I’m so sorry I never got to the end,,,, just know it was also my first trial and I had no idea how to write an actual story from start to finish 😳🫣

8. Deleted scene

There is one deleted scene, I’ll try to see if it’s worth sharing on here, otherwise I might just share a lil bit of it hahaha 💕💕
