jimin has always been all over him. Ever since their debut until this very day, for 10 years. Jimin has always, without a break, doted on him. Jeongguk had a phase where he thought it embarrassing, but that was years ago. He’s now so used to it that it’s a second nature.
When Jimin jumps on his back he holds him, when Jimin leans against him to laugh he supports him, when Jimin plays around he joins him, when Jimin makes bad jokes he laughs fondly. He is so used to being surrounded by his hyung that he’s never questioned it.
He’s never questioned their friendship, never questioned Jimin’s intentions. It was never a thing until Namjoon planted a seed in his head.
On a drunk night, in his studio, just the two of them. Namjoon had breached the topic of Jimin’s affection towards him. Jeongguk had shrugged and said he’s used to it, all the attention. He had dared even say that he likes it sometimes, to be the apple of Jimin’s eye.
Because as attached as Jimin can be to him, he enjoys being the one Jimin relies on. He enjoys that sometimes Jimin pretends to be a damsel in distress as he asks him to protect him. He knows Jimin can roundhouse kick someone, but the experience of his hyung telling him he’s in good shape, asking him to help him out, is never an unwelcome feeling.
But Namjoon, he’s drunk when he says it. And Jeongguk should have been more drunk, he would have liked to have forgotten it when he said:
You know Jimin would kiss you though right? Like, if you didn’t stop him, he would definitely kiss you.
Jeongguk had just chuckled uncomfortably, because he’s known Jimin for 10 years and he’s never got that feeling. Sure, Jimin flirts for fun, and he definitely is touchy, but as soon as their mouths get too close in play fights or something, Jimin pulls away quickly and laughs. It’s never been tense or something like that.
But Namjoon insisted, he told him:
If you don’t pull away or laugh, he would kiss you. I’m sure.
And so, Jeongguk has had that thought in his mind for a few days now and it’s stuck with him. Apparently he was drunk enough to forget the context of this conversation, and why Namjoon even brought it up in the first place, but not drunk enough to forget about that.
It’s annoying because he wants to play around and laugh with Jimin like he normally would, but whenever their faces get close, he suddenly remembers Namjoon’s words and pulls back quickly, eyes wide.
Jimin doesn’t notice it at all, which is a good thing, because Jeongguk feels guilty for even doubting it. Their friendship is so strong that he shouldn’t even give it a second thought. But maybe that’s not the reason it lingers.
It takes him a while to realise, that the thought lingers not because he’s afraid Jimin would kiss him. He’s afraid that he would kind of like it. In a totally non-gay way? (He’s not sure about that part) It’s more that he doesn’t mind fucking around with Jimin and just ending up kissing, for fun and games kind of.
It’s weird to put it to words but, maybe it’s also the idea of Jimin being unable to resist him. Which, he knows Jimin is always unable to resist him in a friendship sense, Jimin can’t stay away from him, always wants to be around him. But to have Jimin kiss him would kind of be.. ah, he doesn’t know.
Then there’s also Jimin’s lips.
So, he doesn’t want to elaborate on that. But his mind just echoes plump, soft, pink, thick, pretty
Yeah, well. Jimin is a guy, and Jeongguk is straight. But also, Jimin has good lips, that is just a factual observation. In fact, he’s never thought about kissing them or fucking them until actually just now.
Okay. So, that’s uh- that’s crazy. Jeongguk giggles nervously to himself, and then he rubs his forehead in distress. Why did Namjoon ever say this? What was the reason? If it was to torment him, he’s succeeding.

Luckily, the days go by quickly, and Jeongguk almost forgets about it, as his friendship with Jimin sails smoothly as always. With no weird tension or intrusive thoughts.
In fact, Jeongguk even tries it out a bit more, letting Jimin be touchier, letting him come closer, but it’s always Jimin who pulls away first and laughs, which makes Jeongguk feel secure.
He gets so comfortable around Jimin after that, doesn’t care much about personal space at all. Whenever wherever, Jimin lies on top of him, sits in his lap, jumps into his arms, hugs him from behind. Jeongguk is all good with it, smiling sheepishly every time.
He’s about to send Namjoon a message, saying that he was wrong and should have minded his own business, but then as he’s typing that message, Jimin is all giggly next to him, nose brushing against his jaw.
Jeongguk stops typing abruptly, a little aware of Jimin’s breath against his neck. They did just drink 3 bottles of soju each, so it’s not uncommon for Jimin to get giggly and touchy. But as Jimin’s arm drapes over his chest, and his leg curls around him too, Jeongguk doesn’t feel confident enough to send that message.
As Jimin keeps giggling, he also noses along Jeongguk’s jaw, up to his ear, where he blows in it just to tease him. Jeongguk doesn’t even flinch, used to it, but he does feel a little hot.
Probably the soju.
No, it’s not the soju. Jimin is biting softly in his earlobe, pulling on his piercings gently. And.. he does that sometimes.. with his fingers.. but never with his mouth.
So Jeongguk’s heartbeat picks up, a little panicked because Jimin is teasing, giggling, but at the same time taking it further than normal. Usually, Jeongguk would pull away in these situations, but now, he needs to know if Namjoon is right. He needs to know if he can send that message.
Jimin is blissfully unaware of Jeongguk’s inner turmoil, as he drunkenly plays around trying to annoy him. The usual tactics, pinching his nipple, trying to put his finger in his nose, everything to make Jeongguk say stop. But, he doesn’t. He lets Jimin annoy him, just pretends to be unfazed while Jimin laughs.
And then Jimin’s lips are on his neck, pressing a soft kiss there. After a second he snickers to himself and watches Jeongguk’s reaction. Just another game.
But Jeongguk is on edge.
Jimin’s never kissed his neck before.
They’ve had their fair share of drunken evenings and Jimin has never ever done something like this.
“No reaction?”
Jimin asks, still unaware, cheeks red from alcohol and smiling so much.
Jeongguk just looks at him, trying to keep his face impassive. Because Namjoon needs to be proven wrong. Jimin wouldn’t randomly kiss him. He wouldn’t kiss him period.
Jimin kisses his cheek.
A small, chaste peck.
Jeongguk’s heart is in his throat, and Jimin is still playing around. He looks giddy as he turns Jeongguk’s head by his jaw.
“Nothing?”
Jimin asks again, drunk smile on his lips. Jeongguk doesn’t know how to respond. Normally he’d have turned his head away, scoffed, and Jimin would have laughed. But he’s enduring, he needs to endure and see where it goes. How far Jimin would go.
Jimin crawls on top of him then, victory grin on his lips as he pins Jeongguk’s wrists above his head. Usually Jeongguk would fight it, wrestle, make sure Jimin knows he’s the strongest. But now he just lies there, as Jimin celebrates a silent victory.
“Still nothing? Are you just letting me win?”
Jimin asks, and Jeongguk swallows, doesn’t like losing even if it’s his intention. However he needs to do this, he needs to know what Jimin would do if he just let him.
And when Jimin leans down to press their noses together to gauge his reaction, Jeongguk’s jaw clenches tightly, body stirring a little bit. This is usually as close as it gets. When Jimin plays around with him, this is the moment he turns his head.
And this should be the moment where Jimin laughs it off.
Jeongguk is waiting for it, chest heaving as Jimin looks at him challengingly. He’s still playing, waiting to see if he’ll react, if he’ll break character. And when Jeongguk doesn’t, Jimin leans in and pecks his lips.
Fuck.
It’s so quick that Jeongguk can barely process it. Jimin pulls back and examines his features, trying to find out if he broke. But seeing his impassive face, Jimin just grins and presses another kiss on his lips, lingering this time.
It’s soft and warm. Jeongguk feels something in his chest jumping around wildly. His foot starts bouncing up and down, palms getting sweaty. Jimin finds it all hilarious still, like he can’t believe he’s actually doing this.
But as Jeongguk stays quiet with every peck on his lips, Jimin’s laughter also dies down. When he pulls back, there’s a shift in his expression. Jimin’s pupils are blown wider, a drunk but aroused glaze over them, and then he grabs Jeongguk’s collar and kisses him again, harder this time.
Jeongguk is paralysed, heartbeat going in overdrive while Jimin kisses him as if he’s been wanting to do it his entire life. Messy and hasty, like he’s afraid Jeongguk will stop him and needs to get everything out of it before he does.
“Fuck- sorry.”
Jimin whispers in between, but doesn’t stop kissing him anyway. Jeongguk’s body runs hot, because the case seems to be that Jimin can’t control himself, and that for some sick reason turns him on.
“Fuck Jeongguk- sorry I- I want this.”
Jimin pants, reattaching their lips, hand running down over Jeongguk’s chest. Jimin tastes like soju and something else, something sweet, and Jeongguk hates to admit that he likes it, that he’s into it.
But it’s only when Jimin moans softly that something snaps inside of Jeongguk and he’s kissing him back. Eager, hungry. His hands fly around Jimin’s waist, eyes closing as he tilts his head more into the kiss.
“Sorry- I want it- I want you.”
Jimin apologises again, like it’s sinful to want this. Like it’s a bad thing.
