He’s all smiles when he climbs on the back of Jeongguk’s motorbike. And though Jeongguk has got his visor down, Jimin can tell he’s less than amused. “Come on, I’m late for work.” “Yeah yeah.” He puts his helmet on, moves the visor down. “Let’s go.”

Of all the sights he’s seen the past few days, maybe this one still takes the cake. Jeongguk in a tight black shirt, his protective gear, and that all black helmet on. It might be even hotter than seeing him all naked under the shower.

“Hold on.” 

Jeongguk commands, then revs up the engine.It could be the way he gets all demanding and impatient too. Though Jimin has never really liked his men like that, something about seeing Jeongguk like this just sparks joy.

He curls his arms around Jeongguk’s tiny waist, palms flat against his toned stomach. There is no objection from Jeongguk this time, no “keep your hands on my waist, don’t touch anything else”, they just take off. 

Yeah, getting to ride with Jeongguk like this is definitely one of his favourite things. It’s not even the sun on his body, nor the summer breeze, it’s getting to press up against Jeongguk’s broad back, feeling his body heat through his clothes.

Sadly, they arrive at his place rather fast. Jeongguk seems pretty serious about getting to work on time. Lame.

“Helmet.” 

Jeongguk holds up his hand, no time to waste.

Jimin takes the helmet off as slowly as possible. Even without facial expressions he still senses the glare of those dark brown eyes; a nice warm type of sting. Jeongguk just takes the helmet from him wordlessly, puts it away. And then all he offers is a short, emotionless: “take care”

Which— come on, that’s just rude.

“Hey, wait.” 

He grabs Jeongguk’s arm. 

“I have to—““hurry, I know. Can I at least thank you for the ride?”

Jeongguk doesn’t answer, he just waits, motionless, doesn’t even give him the courtesy of moving up his visor. 

So, fine. 

He just tilts Jeongguk’s head by his chin, presses a kiss on the helmet where his cheek would be.

“Thanks for letting me sleep over too.” 

He says, then steps back onto his front porch. And despite all the complaints of being late, Jeongguk waits there for a little while longer, one foot on the pavement.

“No problem.”

He says it almost as if it’s hard, then he readjusts on his bike.

“You know..” Jimin brushes his hair back, feasts his eyes on those big pecs being suffocated by that tight shirt a little longer. “I did have money for a cab.” 

He waits for that scoff, for Jeongguk’s exasperated groan, or one of those “are you fucking kidding me?”s that he’s been getting.

But Jeongguk just turns to face him, gives him a: “Yeah, I know.”and then he takes off. 

Jimin blinks a few times, stares at Jeongguk getting smaller in the distance. 

A small smile pulls on his lips then, turns into a full-blown grin. It gets wiped off his face though, when he rings the doorbell and no one opens. 

Fuck, he completely forgot to text Hoseok he’d be coming home. 

Oh well. 

He just sits down on the doorstep, gives him a call.

“Jimin?”

“Yeah, I’m at our place but forgot my keys, can you come open the door?”

The familiar sigh from the other end just makes him chuckle.

——————“I thought you said he hated you?”

“Well he does, but he wants to fuck me too.”

Hoseok hums around his lollipop, one arm behind his head on the couch.

“Why don’t you two just fuck then? I don’t get it, you’ve been chasing this guy for weeks now.”

“Well, he’s just.. not that easy.” 

That being an understatement. Jeongguk is taking playing hard to get to a level he’s never experienced before.

“Okay. If you say so.”

Jimin whips his head towards Hoseok.

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

Hoseok shrugs once.

“You’ve never been into chasing.”

“So?”

“So, you have a thing for him.”

The words actually stir something inside of him. This is a clear attack. He is a man with no things. He’s never had a thing in his life. How dare Hoseok even utter the word.

Hoseok’s eyes crinkle at the sides, a grin around his lollipop.

“Oh, I hit a nerve.”

“I don’t have a thing for him.”

“I have known you since elementary school.” Hoseok pops his lollipop out of his mouth, and points at him with it. “You have a thing for this guy.”

“That is just ridiculous.” He sits up straight, crosses his legs. “Where were you yesterday huh?”

“Changing the subject?” Hoseok smirks.

Jimin kicks against his leg. 

“I couldn’t come in cause you weren’t home.”

“No, you couldn’t come in cause you forgot the key.” Hoseok chuckles. “And unlike you, I do get laid.”

That’s just overkill.

He pokes his tongue in his cheek, throws a pillow that Hoseok just blocks with a laugh.

“Come on, you’re clearly into this guy if you’re chasing this hard.”

“I’m not— I’m not chasing that hard.” 

“You’ve been to see him literally every single day since you came here.”

“Well he— he just happens to be the bartender of my favourite club.” 

His cheeks burn up a little bit. 

“Whatever you say.” Hoseok sucks his lollipop back into his mouth, but he still has that knowing grin on his lips. “Hope you two get together.”

Jimin huffs out a breath.

Get together is ridiculous. He only wants to sit on Jeongguk’s dick once, that’s all. 

But fuck, it does get to him a little bit. He indeed never really chases this hard, it’s unlike him. And Jeongguk hasn’t really actually reciprocated once. Sure, Jeongguk not immune to him getting on his knees, but other than that.. 

Maybe he should lay on the low for a bit. Maybe instead of chasing he should just get laid, like Hoseok said, would probably do well for his state of mind.

He hasn’t gone to see Jeongguk at the bar. Yes, to prove a point. 

Past week he’s just been going to the beach with Hoseok, feasting his eyes on hot surfers, getting a bit of a tan, drinking some cocktails. That is what summer is all about.

And also about Hoseok’s new fling apparently. They are ridiculously handsy. It’s terrible to be on the other side of this for once, he’s usually the one terrorising Hoseok with his hook-ups.

The guy is nice though, he’s pretty too, his black wavy hair is like a summer dream, features striking like a model. Jimin likes his men a little more handsome than pretty. A bit more muscle, some tattoos, piercings.. motorbike—

Ah.

He takes another sip of his almost finished cocktail. Playing drink every time you think about Jeongguk is not one of his best financial decisions.

“Taehyung and I are going for a swim, yeah?” 

“Hm? Oh, yeah.” 

He just waves at them as they walk off, then sighs. 

That should be him and—ah.

Another sip.

Maybe Hoseok was right, he is getting a little pathetic, huh? Or whatever he said, something among those lines.

His phone buzzes then, and he thoroughly hopes it’s one of the 5 guys he’s hooked up with here, but sadly, all he sees is an unknown number. Probably a scam.

He opens the message. There’s just a picture of a t-shirt on a couch. No wait, that’s his t-shirt. Another message comes in.

you left your shirt 

He blinks a few more times, recognises that dark couch then. 

Oh.

The corner of his lip curls up a little.

Jeongguk?

How did you get my number?

He doesn’t recall ever exchanging numbers, so either Jeongguk found it somewhere, got it from someone, or he secretly got it when he was staying over.Jeongguk is online, reads his messages too, but for another minute there is no answer. 

Then, only a:

don’t leave stuff in my house

Huh.

He full on grins at his phone screen, heartbeat picks up just a little more as he types a reply.

If you tell me how you got my number I might come pick it up

There is another minute of radio silence. Jeongguk goes offline too.

Jimin doesn’t mind, he’s got all the time.

The next message comes a minute later.

I’ll bring it.

Oh, this is gold.

You could have brought it without going through all that trouble of getting my number, hm? 

Kind of seems like you wanted an excuse to text me

See he’s not that good at dealing with the aloof attitude in real life, but he knows exactly how to deal with this.

I can throw it out too

He actually laughs softly, imagines the deadpan expression on Jeongguk’s face.

But fine, he won’t push too much, finally got Jeongguk texting him.
