Something I would say is that good characters in this series are noteworthy and few and far between. they make a short list and to give details into it would just spoil nearly every character encounter. Lilia isn't innocent too btw. its very brief but she opened the door and seduce Paul. thats not to say that Paul is innocent either. during episode 3 he makes comment that he is a womaniser and scum. Rudeus said those power things simply to get Lilia off the hook. When it comes to characters and character development this series actually does a pretty good job. sure they are complete scum but you can roughly see where they come from. their no perfect like saints and aren't completely evil but somewhere in-between.

To add a bit more, this is a case of some context and POV shifts that have been left out from the Light Novel for the sake of pacing. Can't really get too deep into it because it is a lot, but let's just say that what's left out showcases just how "complicated" and messy things are between characters here. Myself and others will probably fill in context in points where it is relevant and wasn't covered in the show. Especially since it is a significant amount being cut out for time and/or it might be "too much" to show in animated form. As for why no warning of Paul, that would have been spoilers and wanted to see you get to know Paul before those bombshells. As for the Prince, no he isn't a creepy dude that got Isekaied, he's just a creepy royal.
