Chapter 582: Daram and Horus, Shattering the Nurgle Daemon Eye
The false Mortarion let out an inhuman howl, and from his severed arm, clusters of yellowish-green spore clouds suddenly erupted.
These highly toxic mists instantly enveloped Daram's entire body, even beginning to corrode the armor of the Giant of Light, leaving mottled rust spots.
"Hahaha! Thanks to the Father's gift—I am immortal; even a giant cannot defeat me."
"Too weak! You think such petty tricks can handle me? You think this plague can do it?"
Daram suddenly roared, his whole body erupting in brilliant crimson light.
The corrosion marks evaporated rapidly like dew baked by flames, the powerful light energy instantly dispelling any evil forces.
He lunged forward in a single bound, his right leg sweeping out with a whistling tear through the air.
"Boom!"
The false Mortarion's knee shattered on impact, his massive body crashing to the ground on one knee.
Daram seized the opportunity, grabbing his tattered bat wings, his arm muscles bulging like explosions: "Get up! Scum, witness my power."
The hundred-meter-tall plague primarch was swung entirely into the air, arcing in a semicircle before slamming into the other side with a thunderous crash.
After three consecutive violent slams, the ground now had three crater-like deep pits, Daram's attacks demonstrating to the world what violent aesthetics truly meant.
You idiot, you don't think Horus is stronger than me, do you?
Horus is indeed a very suitable human vessel, able to perfectly unleash his power and even evolve into new forms.
Everything about the giant belongs to the giant; all the power the human vessel gains will be accepted by the giant, and if he wishes, he can forcibly take control of the body.
When a giant fuses with an ordinary human, it's not the human who dominates, but the giant—unless that giant is a stone statue with no self-awareness.
Having fused with Horus for decades, he not only possesses the power of light but has also not discarded the dark forces, keeping them hidden within.
Now, whenever he wants, he can separate from Horus and retain his original power.
"It's over." The color timer on Daram's chest began to flash. He stepped back half a step, assuming a charging stance.
Crimson energy surged from the seams of his armor, condensing into a blazing white energy vortex on his right fist.
"Strong Force Demon-Breaking Fist!"
This move was developed based on the master's Strong Force Bull-Breaking Fist as a prototype, channeling all his proud strength into it and unleashing it.
The moment this punch was thrown, space visibly distorted. The false Mortarion's barely raised giant scythe melted into molten iron upon contact with the fist's edge, followed by his chest armor, his body, and finally that twisted face—
Dazzling white light engulfed everything. When the light faded, the false Mortarion's upper body had completely vanished, his remaining lower body slumping like a melted candle.
The wriggling maggots and spores were drawn by some eerie energy; even with half his body blown away, this Mortarion was still not dead.
Rhodes suddenly narrowed his eyes: "Something's wrong—look at that blood!"
The blood spilled from Mortarion condensed in the air, transforming into countless miniature Nurgle daemons that lunged at Daram.
These mutants exploded violently upon touching the red armor, their corrosive acidic liquid beginning to erode the light energy, while Mortarion's shattered body started to reform.
Countless Nurgle daemons, plague monsters, and even some giant zombie-like creatures suddenly appeared, entangling Daram.
The false Mortarion took the chance to roll away, more maggots surging from his severed parts to reform his body. His voice suddenly became ethereal and distorted: "You think this is the end? Look at the sky, Giant of Light."
The overcast sky suddenly cracked open, a massive rotting eyeball gazing down from the Warp onto the battlefield.
Viscous green raindrops began to fall, each one corroding deep pits into the ground; that eye was like Nurgle himself.
"The Father... is watching you... watching us." The false Mortarion's body began to mutate, his back bulging with countless tumors that finally burst into twelve wriggling plague tentacles. His head split into three faces, simultaneously screeching: "Now... let us merge as one!"
If this giant's body could receive Nurgle's blessing, if it could return to the Father's embrace, it would become an even more terrifying plague giant.
This special giant lifeform was even stronger than those other-dimensional killers; their bodies could accommodate various powers. The key to this battle was to make this giant reveal a flaw and expose his true form.
Only when his true form appeared would the real plan begin.
Daram's armor was sizzling from corrosion, but he laughed excitedly instead: "Now this is interesting! Horus, come out and play—"
The timer on his chest suddenly shifted from blue to gold, Daram's red body coated in a layer of sacred glow. A figure composed purely of silvery-white light formed beside Daram.
It was a giant over 80 meters tall, made of silvery-white metallic lines—this giant was none other than Horus, who had just been fighting the Nurgle monster Mortarion.
It was his Giant of Light state; Daram had somehow manifested Horus's body separately through special means.
The scene on the battlefield stunned everyone except Rhodes.
What was going on? They were clearly one person, so why had they split into two? No, what the hell was this?
"No need to be confused; this is the power of the giant.
The giant has fused with Horus for so many years; their minds are already in sync, their powers intertwined.
Moreover, both have their own bodies—the giant has his own, and Horus has his.
When they fuse, they can unleash even greater power, but most of the time, it's the giant's power repairing Horus's soul.
Now that repair is finally complete; the giant has left a portion of his light, allowing Horus to gain a giant's body as well." Rhodes explained the situation to everyone.
In simple terms, a sufficient bond has formed between the giant and the human vessel. The giant left a portion of light in the vessel's body, so even if he leaves, the vessel can transform into a giant and fight.
What he left was just a ray of light, granting transformation ability, but the strength after transformation is completely different from the original.
The same applies here; Daram has chosen to separate from Horus at this moment. This fusion with Horus has given him even greater power.
It's time for him to leave this human vessel.
"My partner, are you leaving me? Don't you want to fight side by side with me anymore?" The silver giant that Horus had become looked at Daram and asked.
After reviving from a 10,000-year slumber, Daram had always been by his side, their minds connected, fighting shoulder to shoulder.
The giant's power had restored him to his peak, even making him stronger than before, but now this partner was suddenly leaving. In the gene primarch's experience, they had only been together for a few decades.
That was a very short time; he had thought it would be thousands of years later!
"There's no banquet that doesn't end, and besides, I don't want to stay inside you forever without stretching my limbs. I've left a portion of light in your body; even if I'm not there, you can use part of my power to transform into a giant and fight." Daram waved his hand and said.
Of course, the light left in Horus only allows him to transform into a giant for battle, but further evolution is impossible. Horus is a pure warrior.
He has learned enough from the other, and even transformed into a Giant of Light; it's time for them to part ways.
Horus was silent for a moment, then sighed heavily and nodded at Daram.
"I understand. Daram, you will always be my partner, my best brother, without equal. I will remember these days fighting alongside you."
"Me too, my partner. Let me finish this last battle—together." Daram finished speaking and looked up at the giant eye in the sky.
If not stopped, this giant eye might pull the entire planet into the chaotic Warp.
"I know, partner; let's stop this disaster together, but first, deal with this guy." Horus finished speaking and turned to the false Mortarion, whom Daram had severely wounded.
He planted his feet firmly, pulling back his right fist to charge, his entire arm bursting with blinding silvery-white light: "Take this—it's the bond between me and my partner, Sacred Storm."
A terrifying storm of light energy enveloped the false Mortarion, centered on Horus.
The false Mortarion's massive root tentacles stabbed out simultaneously but turned to ash upon touching the golden light.
"Let me help you too!"
Daram said, his heavy fist piercing through the three twisted faces, momentum unbroken as it smashed into the chest, directly shattering the Nurgle mark at the core!
"Impossible!" The false Mortarion's body froze in place, cracks emitting increasingly strong golden light.
Daram withdrew his fist and turned away coolly: "Explode, small fry."
"Boom—!!!"
The false Mortarion exploded into particles of light scattering across the sky, even the rotting eyeball in the sky letting out a pained roar as it retracted into the Warp. The green rainstorm abruptly stopped, and sunlight once again bathed the battlefield.
Horus said: "Well done, partner."
Daram gave a thumbs up. "Now only that giant eye in the sky remains."
On the battlefield, the red giant and the silver giant exchanged glances, then together assumed their stances, looking up at the giant eye in the sky.
One red, one white—two streams of energy shot skyward, striking the giant eye in the sky.
The Eyes of Nurgle in the sky trembled violently, its pupil burned by the light energy, oozing pus and blood.
The entire sky began to distort, Warp rifts tearing open like festering wounds. Countless plague flies and corrupted daemons surged from the cracks, trying to block the two giants' assault.
"Horus—" Daram growled lowly, his whole body boiling with crimson energy, arms crossed over his chest, lava-like glow bursting from his armor seams.
"Understood!" Horus's silvery-white body shone, his hands overlapping in front of the timer on his chest, endless light energy gathering into a brilliant blue orb.
"Combination Technique—let's call this one Daram-Horus Storm!"
The two giants stood side by side, palms joining as they unleashed a terrifying combined skill.
Daram swung his fist fiercely, crimson energy erupting like a volcano, while Horus's orb split into countless beams in mid-air, intertwining with Daram's strong force energy.
"Boom—!!!"
The crimson and silver light streams spiraled together, forming a world-piercing torrent of destruction, charging straight at the Eyes of Nurgle!
Plague flies turned to ash upon contact with the light stream, corrupted daemons letting out agonized wails as their bodies disintegrated in the purifying light.
The Eyes of Nurgle contracted frantically, trying to close the rift and escape, but it was too late—
"Ao... No... Impossible—Ahh." A terrifying roar echoed from the sky, like a green fat man screaming in agony.
The light stream smashed into the center of the eyeball, the corrupted pupil shattering like glass. Yellow-green pus rained down like a storm but evaporated mid-air by the light energy.
The entire sky was torn apart, the Warp rifts rapidly healing under the light torrent's scour, the chaotic filth thoroughly purified.
Even all the Chaos Space Marines on the planet, all surviving beings connected to chaotic forces, were purified by this terrifying light storm.
A sacred storm swept across the entire planet. Some mortal soldiers, upon contact with this light power, were instantly healed, feeling warm all over.
Some mortals wanted to pray to the Emperor but stopped, because this was different from the Emperor's power—it wasn't even the Emperor's power.
"It's over." Daram retracted his fist and said.
"We won." Horus deactivated his giant form, returning to human form, and looked up at Daram.
Daram's massive red body looked down at Horus, grinning: "Yeah, we won. But time's up; it's time to say goodbye for real."
He was still a bit reluctant to leave this human vessel, but he had more important things to do.
"You're leaving?" Horus asked.
"Yeah."
Daram's body transformed into a streak of crimson light flying toward the universe, but his voice remained clear: "Remember, Horus, the power of light doesn't just come from me—it's from your own will, humanity's hope. As long as your heart still burns with light, you will never lose this power."
Horus was silent for a moment, then nodded solemnly: "I understand. Goodbye, partner."
The Warmaster's eyes were a bit moist.
Chapter 583: The Chaos Godshard Manifests, The Other-Dimensional World
The battlefield returned to calm; the human Imperium had achieved final victory!
Countless mortal soldiers began to celebrate, people hugging each other, wildly rejoicing in this hard-won triumph.
In the past, humanity waged wars across the galaxy but could only barely maintain the Imperium's operations; countless human worlds were trampled by vile xenos, and they were powerless.
But now, things were different. The great gene primarchs had returned, the great human lord Emperor had awakened from the Golden Throne, and now the Chaos Emperor could no longer threaten them.
The gene primarchs also stepped forward, waving to the ordinary soldiers. After a simple celebration, all the gene primarchs gathered together again.
Leman Russ spoke up: "So... can Horus still transform now?"
Logically, if the cosmic phantom beast leaves them, they can't transform anymore.
Rhodes smiled: "Of course. Daram left a ray of light; Horus can still use the Giant of Light's power. Now Horus can still become a Giant of Light to fight, and his overall strength hasn't decreased at all."
This is the mystery of the Giants of Light; even after separating from the human vessel, they can leave their light in the vessel's body.
In a sense, Giants of Light aren't even physical beings; they're pure energy lifeforms. For example, in ancient times, Diga could leave his combat body behind to pass on his power.
"That's enough. I will use this power, the Giant of Light's power, to continue protecting humanity." Horus spoke firmly. After fusing with the Giant of Light, his soul had been tinged with great light attributes. Now, his eyes could tolerate no darkness, and even his personality had changed.
This was because Daram was originally a dark giant who converted to a Giant of Light; otherwise, if it were an ordinary Giant of Light, Horus would probably have become a saint by now.
"I believe you, Horus. Do you want to fuse with a cosmic phantom beast?" Sanguinius asked.
Rhodes nodded beside him. If Horus wanted, he could find a light-attribute monster and convert it into a cosmic phantom beast.
"No need. I don't need a cosmic phantom beast; I will only use the Giant of Light's power. This is the power shared between me and Daram."
Lion El'Jonson patted his shoulder: "As you wish, my brother. We all support your decision."
Rhodes gazed at the sky thoughtfully: "But... why did Nurgle create a false Mortarion? What exactly is it plotting?"
No one could answer this; perhaps some green fat guy ate too much plague and shit, and his brain suddenly glitched.
In Rhodes's view, this clone had some strength but was still not enough. It did injure Leman Russ, but Leman Russ had just returned.
He had only recently fused with a summer cosmic phantom beast. If it were Sanguinius or another gene primarch, this fake Mortarion would also be killed.
"You don't need to worry about the Imperium's dark side; hurry back to Holy Terra. That's where you should be." Lion El'Jonson turned to Rhodes and said.
The success or failure of this Chaos God Shard Plan concerns the life and death of the entire human race, so no mistakes can be tolerated. Rhodes didn't need to come here; no matter what enemies, they, the gene primarchs, could handle them.
"I was just a bit worried, so I came to check. And since this Mortarion could appear, other traitor gene primarchs might also be cloned by the Chaos Gods in this way. You all need to be careful." Rhodes said.
For example, a certain half-immortal like Vulkan is very skilled in cloning life fusion technology; one must be 120,000% vigilant against him, or they'll fall into his trap.
"Don't worry, Rhodes. If such enemies appear again, we can defeat them with our own power." Horus said.
The most dangerous war on the Imperium's dark side was this one; previous wars could be handled by any gene primarch casually. And now, the Chaos forces have been mostly cleared out.
In the future, if the Emperor can fully rise from the Golden Throne and repair the great rift spanning the galaxy, the Imperium's dark side can be fully reclaimed into the Imperium's embrace.
"I understand. Then I'll return to Holy Terra now. You all continue fighting on the dark side. As for the Imperium's holy frontier, don't worry; there won't be any problems there." Rhodes nodded and said.
On the Imperium's holy frontier, there are his sons, his wife, and the successfully reincarnated Eldar war god Khaine. The battles there aren't as complex as here, and he can rush over to support anytime.
After chatting with the gene primarchs for a while longer, Rhodes opened a portal and left the planet.
…
In the following time, the gene primarchs pressed their advantage, their armies leaving no survivors wherever they went; the Chaos forces were utterly defeated.
All Chaos forces across the entire galactic Imperium's dark side, countless planets infected by Chaos, were reclaimed one by one by the gene primarchs.
Time passed steadily; three years flew by quickly. A massive disturbance came from within the Holy Terra palace.
The Emperor sat on the Golden Throne, with the Angel Zog, the Alien Empera, and the Life Goddess Isha all letting out long sighs of relief.
After several years, they had finally completed the task; this Chaos Godshard had been stripped out.
In these three years, the entire Imperium had undergone another wave of evolution: all-new equipment, new enhancement potions, new knight mech Titans, even some Dreadnought mechs put into use.
With the return of all gene primarchs, the Space Marines' fame resounded across the galaxy once more; countless xenos and Chaos wailed under humanity's attacks.
Now, the Imperium possessed unimaginable power, enough to counter various Chaos assaults. And since Nurgle's sudden move three years ago, the Chaos Gods had made almost no new actions.
"Rhodes, are you ready? Soon, the Chaos Godshard belonging to Slaanesh will be stripped out.
At that time, you must immediately place it into your other-dimensional world to ensure Holy Terra is safe."
Ten years of arduous waiting had finally yielded results.
The Emperor now felt unprecedented relief. Finally, finally, they were about to eliminate a Chaos God. As long as his godshard was thrown into the other-dimensional world, everything he had done would be worth it.
This time, he had even risked dragging Holy Terra into danger. After the Chaos Godshard manifests, the barrier between the real universe and the Warp would be broken.
The remaining three Chaos Gods—Nurgle, Tzeentch, and Khorne—could all descend in their true forms, but Slaanesh's Chaos Godshard absolutely cannot fall into their hands.
No new Slaanesh would be born; a Chaos God would be thoroughly eradicated.
"Rest assured, Emperor; I'm ready. You can start anytime." Rhodes said calmly.
He had made many preparations for this day; various monster enhancements had reached their limits. Now, the dimensional space he created with Yapool had expanded significantly.
This time, he must hide the Chaos Godshard in his other-dimensional world; he absolutely cannot let the Chaos Godshard manifest and break the barrier between Holy Terra and the Warp, connecting here to the Warp and allowing the four Chaos Gods to descend.
The Emperor nodded upon hearing this, exerting force with his hand. From Fulgrim's corpse emerged a rhombus-shaped crystal, thoroughly stripped out.
As soon as this chaotic rhombus crystal appeared, it emitted an indescribable fluctuation, enveloping the entire solar system.
"Now! Quickly, Rhodes—put it into your other-dimensional world. Absolutely cannot let Holy Terra be corrupted by chaotic forces." The Emperor urgently said.
Rhodes nodded, grasping the Slaanesh Chaos Godshard with both hands, then activating his special ability to send this Chaos Godshard into the other-dimensional world.
In a bizarre space, Rhodes suddenly appeared with Slaanesh's Chaos Godshard. Here, the Chaos Godshard's power could not affect the real universe.
…
The instant the Chaos Godshard was stripped, the veil of the real universe was torn—this was a once-in-a-millennium opportunity. The three Chaos Gods had waited far too long for this day.
They all awaited this moment to fully descend on Holy Terra, turn the Emperor into the fourth Chaos God, birth the Dark King, reclaim Slaanesh's godshard, and divide it.
But the actual situation defied their expectations. The moment the Chaos Godshard appeared, the barrier between the chaotic Warp and the real universe was indeed broken, even about to envelop the entire solar system in the Warp, turning it into a Warp paradise.
But strangely, this human named Rhodes suddenly used some method to hide Slaanesh's Chaos Godshard, and even he himself vanished.
He didn't exist in the Warp, nor in the real universe, nor in the Webway—as if he had completely disappeared from this universe.
"What's going on? This isn't like our planned scheme. Why? Why did Slaanesh's godshard disappear? How could a Chaos Godshard vanish?" The green fat guy Nurgle howled madly.
For this plan to succeed, he had paid a heavy price, even using some of his own essence to create a terrifying monster.
But the monster was easily defeated by the gene primarchs, which hurt him deeply.
And all this was done to test the Emperor and ensure the mission's success.
"Strange, too strange. Why did the Chaos Godshard disappear? It couldn't vanish into thin air, and where is that human Rhodes?" Khorne said.
Though he would be very happy if Slaanesh's godshard completely vanished, having such terrifying power controlled by someone else was not what he wanted to see.
Beside him, the blue birdman Tzeentch also frowned; this was completely different from what they had imagined!
This powerful Chaos Godshard was supposed to be their trump card, their weapon to utterly destroy the human Imperium.
"So, our plan failed? Tzeentch, you damned bird, you said we would succeed.
After paying such a huge price, we got nothing." Khorne roared.
Beside the three Chaos Gods, Vashtor's face didn't look good either.
These years, the Imperium's dark side had been under his sole pressure; he had created all sorts of bizarre daemon engines, recruited mortals, Chaos Space Marines, and Imperium traitors.
Then created Arks of Omen for them to plunder across the real universe, weakening the Imperium's power.
"Something is indeed off, but don't panic, guys.
Feel it yourselves—the Chaos Godshard didn't disappear; it was hidden by some force.
If the Chaos Godshard vanished, a vacancy would appear in the godshard, and the Warp is a magical place; it would naturally birth a new true god." Tzeentch's eyes flickered as he spoke.
The Warp is their parent; the Warp birthed them, making them the chosen ones. If their Chaos Godshard fell, the Warp should birth another, not remain silent.
This situation is extremely bizarre; there's only one possibility—humans used some unknown method to hide the Chaos Godshard.
"Damned humans, damned Emperor!" Khorne roared.
"So what do we do now?"
"Don't rush; wait and see." Tzeentch said.
…
At this moment, in the other-dimensional world created by Rhodes and Yapool, the Chaos Godshard erupted with terrifying energy, Warp aura filling the entire other-dimensional world.
The newborn other-dimensional world, as if receiving some nutrient, began madly absorbing this Warp power from the Chaos Godshard, rapidly growing.
This seemed like a good thing, but it wasn't entirely; the growth of the other-dimensional world has a limit, and it can only break through after accumulating to a certain point.
With so much Warp energy surging in at once, the other-dimensional world couldn't absorb it all.
"Master, if the Chaos Godshard erupts with more Warp power, the other-dimensional world we created won't be able to absorb it. You must think of something quickly."
Yapool said anxiously.
This was no joke; the other-dimensional world was something he and his master had painstakingly created. It was supposed to be their lair, but if destroyed by this Chaos Godshard, it would be a huge loss.
Rhodes also frowned.
Chapter 584: New Currency System Crystals, Ultimate Store Upgrade
The other-dimensional world had indeed sealed the Chaos Godshard, but the intensity of its power exceeded imagination.
Rhodes stared at the Chaos Godshard pulsating wildly in the center of the other-dimensional space, like a malformed heart pumping Warp energy in all directions.
The spatial barriers began to show web-like cracks, some corrosion beyond physical laws spreading.
Yapool spoke, "Master, we must create an energy vent for it—"
If they didn't find a way to vent this terrifying chaotic energy, the greatest possibility was that it would thoroughly destroy the other-dimensional world he and his master had painstakingly built.
"Master! I can try opening a link to the Warp here; we can vent this terrifying energy into the Warp." At some point, Tartarus had also entered the other-dimensional world, helping Rhodes stabilize the Chaos Godshard.
In the current situation, there was a very safe method: open a portal linked to the Warp in the other-dimensional world and input the terrifying Warp energy into it.
"No, doing that would link the other-dimensional world to the Warp, which is something I absolutely cannot allow." Rhodes immediately shook his head.
What a joke; the current other-dimensional world is only about the size of two star systems, with a range not even ten light-years.
If this small fry is exposed to the Warp's view, the Chaos Gods would immediately discover it. Then, using the Chaos Godshard's connection, they might smuggle over, and he'd essentially be handing the other-dimensional world to them for free.
"But Master, if we don't do this, the other-dimensional world won't hold. At most, in another minute, this world will completely collapse." Tartarus said.
No choice; this is the worst option, but also the best, because there's no second solution!
If the other-dimensional world collapses now, their emergence point would still be near Holy Terra, at most not exceeding ten light-years.
Because this other-dimensional world is only two star systems in size, range not over 10 light-years, and it's centered on where the master entered, so upon returning to the real universe.
They'd appear at most within 10 light-years of Holy Terra, no farther.
That distance is still within the Chaos Godshard's influence; at that point, the entire Holy Terra would still be affected!
It might even cause a more violent explosion due to the Warp energy riot destroying the other-dimensional world, potentially creating a new Eye of Terror centered on Holy Terra.
"Hold on; perhaps we have another way." Rhodes said.
Rhodes directly injected the raging chaotic Warp energy into the system.
The system's recharge coins had always been marvelous; any lifeform, whether tangible objects or intangible Warp beings, could count as system recharge currency.
And the energy contained in a Chaos God's godshard was unimaginable to ordinary people; this energy could easily create greater daemons, daemon princes, and endless Chaos daemon armies.
In that case, could injecting this energy directly into the system convert it into system coins?
The divine power in the Chaos Godshard is different from ordinary Warp energy; it's the power of a Warp god, capable of directly birthing Chaos daemons.
Rhodes's guess this time was spot on; the system immediately reacted upon contact with the terrifying chaotic divine power, beginning to absorb this chaotic divine power.
["High-quality energy detected; converting to advanced system resources. Beginning recharge of system crystals." ]
The system's prompt sounded in Rhodes's mind.
This voice left Rhodes a bit stunned.
System crystals!
What the hell is this? He had been in the Warhammer universe for decades!
The currency he had acquired had always been system recharge coins; everything was purchased with system recharge coins. But what is this system crystal?
And it showed as advanced currency!
The system didn't explain Rhodes's question but entered recharge mode, continuously drawing power from the Chaos Godshard.
The chaotic divine power inside was like encountering a pump, being frantically extracted. The pressure on the other-dimensional world immediately lessened.
The violent spatial shaking, the other-dimensional world on the verge of collapse, suddenly stabilized.
Rhodes curiously checked the system crystal's description: System crystals are the highest-level currency in the entire system, requiring extremely pure divine power crystals to extract and recharge.
This is used to exchange for the highest-level store items and highest-level store enhancement upgrades.
Upgrading the highest-level system, monster store, and enhancement store also requires this system crystal.
This is the system's highest level; its currency value far exceeds ordinary system metal coins. After seeing this description, Rhodes suddenly understood!
Oh man! So that's what it is?
The system hid this deep; if he hadn't tried injecting the Chaos Godshard's power into the system this time, who knows when he would have discovered it!
Turns out, besides system recharge coins, there's an advanced currency called system crystals, and upgrading the top-tier monster store and enhancement store requires this stuff.
"Master! It seems you've found a way."
Yapool and Tartarus both sighed in relief, coming to Rhodes and asking.
They hadn't expected the sudden crisis to be resolved by their master in this manner.
"Yeah! I found a new way. This Chaos Godshard is actually a new recharge item for the system; it can recharge the highest-level system crystals." Rhodes said.
No wonder, with enough system coins saved up, he still couldn't upgrade the highest-level monster store. Turns out, he was missing these system crystals, but the damn thing never prompted about them!
It only appeared after he discovered the recharge item!
"This is good news, Master. You can finally fully utilize the system store's power; you'll acquire even stronger monsters." Tartarus said.
"Indeed as you say. And if this Chaos Godshard is some kind of recharge item, then there are three more like it—or rather, four." Rhodes's lips curled into a playful smile.
This Chaos Godshard was extracted from Aisha, and there are three other Chaos Gods, meaning three more recharge items.
And there's also that half-immortal Vashtor, who will soon ascend to a Chaos God; then the rechargeable items become four.
"Congratulations, Master, but I must correct you: there are three now, and two potential ones in the future, like the one on the Golden Throne." Tartarus came to Rhodes and said.
The Dark King within the human Emperor is also at the Chaos God level, and even stronger than the four Chaos Gods!
If Rhodes can eliminate that Chaos Godshard, then theoretically, the Dark King's godshard can also be eliminated.
The human Emperor would certainly approve with both hands and feet; the human Emperor has always been trying to escape the Dark King's threat and corruption. He doesn't want to become the Dark King.
"Master, and don't forget the Tyranid Hive Mind, the Great Devourer; I think that big guy can also provide you with system crystals."
At this point, Yapool standing aside spoke up.
Can't let this golden flashy guy take all the credit; he had to contribute too. What you said is correct, but you missed the Tyranid Great Devourer!
"You're right! The Tyranid Great Devourer can definitely provide system crystals." Rhodes nodded in strong agreement.
No need to say how strong the Great Devourer's power is; its psychic might is no weaker than the four Chaos.
And the Great Devourer's attitude is much more arrogant; upon arriving in the galaxy and discovering Chaos daemons competing for food, it immediately organized a Kronos fleet and went head-to-head with the Chaos, hunting daemons everywhere.
Even if some things changed due to his appearance, this fleet still emerged, just that while dealing with Chaos daemons, it also targets Rhodes's gene offspring and human Space Marines.
"You two are right; by this count, there are at least six guys in the galaxy that can serve as our recharge data items!" Rhodes nodded very satisfiedly.
…
Rhodes was chatting animatedly with his two subordinates in the other-dimensional space, while outside, the Emperor was a bit anxious.
Rhodes had taken the Chaos Godshard away for several hours, but there was no sign of activity; he didn't know what the situation was.
"Father, rest assured; I've been closely monitoring the entire solar system's periphery, and no Warp anomalies have been detected.
Our world won't be invaded by Chaos daemons." Guilliman was the first to approach the Emperor's Golden Throne and said.
After the Chaos Godshard was stripped, the entire Holy Terra entered the highest alert state; Guilliman had even run simulations for the worst outcomes!
None of the backup plans were needed; Rhodes had successfully taken the Chaos Godshard away from Holy Terra. The barrier between the real universe and the Warp wasn't broken; the four Chaos Gods could only stare helplessly.
"I know; maintain the highest vigilance. I think Rhodes might need some time to handle the Chaos Godshard; don't disturb him for now." The Emperor said.
In the first moment the Chaos Godshard was stripped, he sensed the terrifying energy within!
If this terrifying energy erupted, it could swallow all planets within 100 light-years into the Warp; Holy Terra would become theoretically the second Eye of Terror.
Now that Rhodes had taken the Chaos Godshard away, all he needed to do was wait silently.
…
Time passed in a flash; seven full days went by. The outside was calm, with no signs of Chaos corruption on Holy Terra; even Guilliman began asking the Emperor.
Whether to downgrade the highest alert, since ordinary citizens weren't even allowed to leave their homes, and the Custodes were patrolling the streets outside the palace.
"Downgrade the special alert to level 1; have all Custodes withdraw to the palace first. As for the palace perimeter, let the Space Marines patrol!" The Emperor thought for a moment and said.
…
Meanwhile, in the other-dimensional world, Rhodes had successfully extracted every last bit of power from the Chaos Godshard.
Recharge complete!
This time, Rhodes obtained a full 200 system crystals and 2 billion system coins.
The value of the Chaos Godshard far exceeded his imagination; this was a massive windfall!
Upgrading the highest-level system store requires 1 billion system coins and 100 system crystals, while the highest-level enhancement store
requires 2 billion system coins and 200 system crystals.
The system enhancement store has better effects; the monster store only draws monsters, but the enhancement store is the most useful for Rhodes. The reason his great monsters can rampage through the Warhammer universe
and truly secure his footing is because of the monster enhancement system. Otherwise, just summoning monsters without enhancements would greatly reduce Rhodes's combat power.
"Master, you've finally gathered the system coins for the highest-level store. I suggest you do a 100-draw first to get a top-tier monster." Tartarus said.
Although the master now has the Angel Zog, himself as an ultimate lifeform, and the Alien Empera, they are only ultimate monsters.
True top-tier monsters are multiversal level; they can even affect other worlds.
"Yeah! I'll try it now." Rhodes nodded and directly spent 1 billion system coins.
He performed a 100-draw on the highest-level system store. A single draw in the highest-level system store costs 10 million system coins.
The highest-level system store no longer has category options when drawing monsters, because there are only a few top-tier monsters!
And these top-tier monsters, without exception, are all unique; the system store can only summon them once, and after summoning, they permanently disappear.
A burst of golden light erupted from the system store, manifesting fragments of various monsters.
In this 100-draw, the fragments of a pitch-black humanoid monster totaled 10!
At the same time, Rhodes obtained a rare system gift chest.
