if you didn't know why mikasa said to historia that he could punch in the face Levi after it was because in the original Manga Panel when they where discussing about Historia being the Queen Historia in reality Refused but Levi threaten her and forced her to be the queen by pure fear, that's why Mikasa told Historia that She could seek "Revenge" in sort of a way to Levi when she become queen.

So, idk if this is even mentioned (I think not), but the serum that Rod Reiss licked was labelled, the same way the one Eren drank said "ARMOR", but in his case it said "STRONGEST TITAN" or something like that. I think it's pretty much safe to say that those special serums were made to imitate the armored and colossal titan abilities respectively, I may be trippin' tho.

Also, the fact that Rod's titan it's emanating heat and steam points to the colossal titan as well and maybe the reason it's bigger than the latter it's because his royal blood gave it a boost. As for the reason why it's crawling, I think it's because Historia broke Rod's back before transforming xD.

Rod was just unlucky he turned into an abnormal xD, otherwise his titan would have tried to devour the first human on sight. When a human turns into a pure (dumb) titan, there is no way to tell if it will become an abnormal... at least not yet...
