A proper translation of the show's name would be: "The Attack Titan" = Shingeki no Kyojin in Japanese. "Shingeki no Kyojin" is what Eren says, word for word, in the scene where the name is revealed = the exact same name of the show in Japanese. It was initially mistranslated into Attack on Titan in English, because without having context of what the show is about, "The Attack Titan" just sounds weird. I am not really sure how the process went, but we ended up with "Attack on Titan" as the show name, and the English speaking space just ran with it. But for Japanese watchers, the scene is a striking one: they hear the show protagonist uttering the name of the show, revealing that it was named after his titan power all along: The Attack Titan.

whenever it is showing kid eren, mikasa, and armin by the water reading the book, the water is the river that flows through shiganshina. its the same spot they were sitting in when the colossal titan first showed up

But when survival means fighting back against a world that’s already decided we shouldn’t exist… what choice do we really have? I don’t know how to fix this. I really don’t. It’s a mess of fear, hatred, and history too heavy to carry. But we’re still here — still hoping there’s a way out that doesn’t end in more blood.

I used to believe we could talk it out — that maybe, somehow, we could negotiate. But deep down… part of me always knew the truth: this issue was never one that could be solved with words. The fact that we can become Titans… that alone is enough for the world to fear us. Even if, just once, we manage to reach an agreement — would it last forever? Of course not. As long as the power of the Titans still exists, the fear will never go away. Sooner or later, someone will act. Someone will try to erase us, just to feel safe. Whenever I rewatch this part of the story, I keep asking myself: Isn’t there a way out of this? A way where no one has to die — where both sides can walk away alive? But the more I think about it, the more it hurts. Because in the end… we couldn’t.
