Love the framing of this episode because realistically this is just what they've been doing the whole time. Its a double take cause you're into the action then remember they are not good people.

The priests acts that way because what thors did is what love is according to him since thors didn't kill anyone even as a warrior and have mercy to his enemies. Thus, he has no enemies. This will be explained more in ep 18

My favourite episode of s1. Even if having 0 context to the rest of the show people can watch this and understand everything as a type of short movie almost. Directing, soundtrack, voice acting and the overall atmosphere are 10/10. We've seen them raid villages before, murder civilians and be cruel overall but it works so well as a short reminder that the show is a deconstruction on vikings and not some random battle shounen.
