Hi guys, today I bring you the Gala Dress 2, a captivating gown designed to transform your honey into a vision of sophisticated allure. The dress' daring plunging V-neckline and sumptuous lace whisper of midnight mysteries, while its floor-skimming hem, powered by cloth physics, sways and billows with graceful realism, responding to every step and twirl~✨

This one has been cooking for a long time now and its finally ready!

I had two goals for this one, first is that nice layered lace with transparency, and second was the cloth physics powered long dress. Through trial and error, I eventually found a way to make both work!

If you only knew how much mental gymnastics I had to do to finally separate the lace layers onto different color channels cleanly... Sometimes I wish I had formal training in Substance, but it looks like working dumber but harder did yield results this time.

For the dress portion, I really wanted full cloth sim, but it just wasn't working... UNTIL I realized a dual slit design solves the problems I have always had with cloth penetration. Yay!

I spent the time to sculpt a custom half-state as usual for this one.. but I encountered a bug with the cloth physics that caused the dress to gently slip off the shoulders and pile on the ground when half-state is activated... and I thought 'WOAH thats cool, lets just roll with it!'
