I'll be a guest at a convention in Australia and May. It's noir-themed, and I was tasked with doing some of the artwork, so I figured it'd be a fun opportunity to do a 1940-something version of Lackadaisy for one of the pieces. You guys are the first to see this one, intended for the conbook cover.

Ooh I love the lighting!

How can such a beautiful movie be so 'noir'?

Angel Eyes

Just imagine seeing this as an official movie poster...

Hikaru Katayamma

Wow! That's just awesome! You've really nailed the venue!

KaNier

If you look closely at Mordecai’s glasses. He’s about to murder another poor soul.

Holden

Daaaaang, that's fly as hell

I was just reading the comic over again and it's so incredible how much better Tracy has gotten over the years. This is so so soo beautiful. It's breathe taking

Your Humble Host

Oh my gosh, the reflection in Mordecai's glasses! Simply amazing as is the entire piece. It's the tiny details I think you do so well on without making it look busy.

Autumn Wyvern

wow it looks amazing! Probably one of the coolest conbooks ever

Maklarr4000

Stunning work! Have fun while you're down under, a friend of mine in Adelaide said it's about 75 degrees there now, which sure beats the midwset cold!

Debra Delorme

The whole piece is amazing, but what caught my eye was the detailing on the automobiles. Gorgeous!

I was about to mention exactly that, time zones prevented me. Good eye!

That's a wicked illustration, it must be quite the honor for them to host you! Good on you for getting around for your international fans, maybe Elson Wong can say hi there? He's a cool one!

Clow

can we have a full resolution of the art for wallpaper purposes? this is just too gorgeous

Tracy Butler

Yes! I'll make a wallpaper available soon...somehow. It'll be tricky to rearrange this into a more horizontal design, but device backgrounds will be easy enough to make.

I love anything Noir! This is amazing and it's so awesome seeing how easily your characters fit the genre.

Clow

i think only having the bottom part with zib is good enough for a desktop wallpaper, but you do you. thanks a ton!
