Some art, finally...although I would like to do something less nonsensical with the lighting here eventually.  (Is it too dark or contrasty? I've stared at it for too long.)

This is actually for a yet-to-be-announced Lackadaisy card game currently in the works. To be clear, this is a separate thing from the card deck.  Most of the main cast will be playable with specific abilities, and the object will, of course, be running liquor across a randomized environment (based very much on places in the comic) while trying not to die!  I can't say much more about it just now, but hopefully it sounds like it could be fun!

This looks very lovely however it got me a bit confused! I'm not sure if it's a daytime or nighttim, the background suggests it's a a nighttime while the reflection on the car has a sunny sky :o Or is it those kind of foggy days with partly raining or partly sunny sky? Are the illuminations on the windows in the backgrounds reflecting the sky or they are lights fron the inside? Sorry if this sounds too picky :x

Is the 52 card deck finished and ready for sale? Been anxiously waiting to get my hands on two or three decks.

That does sound like a lot of fun!

It's a lovely pic, though it does seem pretty contrasty for being so dark, or dark for being so contrasty. Like Danya, I wasn't sure at first if it was a day or night pic. Maybe you could use a streetlight reflection on the car to make the shadows seem more natural?

!!! This card game sounds FANTASTIC! Dibs on Ivy and Miss Lacy forever!!

The reflection in the fender looks to be of the street lamp above. Also, I get a sense of twilight, either early morning or early evening.

A great picture and a neat premise! I hope we'll see this in desktop dimensions some day! Amazing stuff.

This makes a fantastic cover image for the card game! Very adventurous and inviting the prospective player to a game of whimsical booze and Thompson gun laden mayhem! I imagine you're going to have a lot of fun with this project; You certainly have more than enough art you can appropriate for usage on a lot of the cards, but it'll be fun to see how you portray the eccentric, but very useful talents the characters have or the epic fails/insane victory tactics possible while playing. :)

Can't wait to play it -- hope it does at least four players, for my game group.

The reflections of the buildings in the fender are KILLING ME. Gorgeous!

Woah this is awesome! Also, sign me up for this game!

That card game sounds awesome. I would definitely play it. I love the artwork, particularly the reflection of the buildings on the fender. Although, I feel like I should also see the reflection of Rocky's legs on the fender. As it is, it kind of looks like he's not really there. Then again, I'm no expert on light and reflection, and may just be looking at it wrong. Edit: I was looking at it wrong. I can see the blue of his pants curving over the back edge there. :B

2026-09-17 17:00 Oh my lord. I want to print this as a poster and frame it!! Wow, the colours and attention to detail on this illustration Tracy, love it. In fact, screw doing the poster, I'm just gonna buy the card game and try to assemble all the cards/artwork and frame it instead. lol Regarding feedback on lighting - it looks fine to me, it's not too dark where you miss out on details and it's not too bright where I need to squint my eyes - it's a perfect balance, great job on that. What helps is a strong presence of cools (blue-green) of the cityscape transitioning to a subtle cool yellows (just edging to warm yellow to lift the foreground). You popped the subject matter using a delightful array of warms (reds/oranges/yellows) whilst not being careful not to use too much contrast or muddy colors (which will increase the shade of the subject). The only thing that I may find that's not making sense is how the reflection on the front wheel arch (left-side) to the 1930's automobile (American Austin Model?) does not match what we see at face-value. I see a beautiful blue sky with a towering cityscape via fish-eye lens (reminds me of Chicago's Bean sculpture...!), and to me it makes sense to use what we see at face-value (ie the blue-green background's colors). Then again it's an artistic choice and we can also say that the color on the reflection can be a direct reflection of the color that Rocky's wearing! XXD Anyways I'm babbling. I'll keep it simple: Kick-ass illustration. Stunning cityscape with matching period vehicle. We have very pretty girl next to two dashing lads. Me want a print. Me want card game now. :D

For some of the tonality stuff just having some of your snarky commentary on the card text here and there can add a lot to distinguish this game as being a blast to play especially if you (understandably) aren't going to draw stuff for every silly card. :) I will say though it would be enjoyable to have see goofy AU art for certain scenarios like Loony Toons-esque silly deaths, social awkwardness in dealings, or escaping by the edge of the player character's tail and so on,so forth since the shenanigans are only in a friendly card game and not the actual story!

What incredible detail! I love your work, just ordered book 2!

Just got my book today ... it's gorgeous! I may have to spring for the hard bound version of vol. 1 now, to replace my soft copy :/
