It's easy to take for granted that everyone is familiar with the basic body language of cats, how their tails move, how mobile their ears are. But not everyone on the crew has actually spent that much time around cats. So, we worked up a guide for the animators. Some of it's stuff that's stylistically specific to Lackadaisy too, like adjusting ears for hats. I thought some of you might find it interesting!Art here by the very amazing animator / cat-pro Kayla Stith.

Whiskers are something I constantly forget 😭 this is super helpful, I'm always overthinking the tail position!

I love the attention to detail and care you guys put into everything. It’s amazing to get a peek behind the curtain that we usually don’t in animation. And as a cat person in particular, the details about cat psychology are very cool.

Has Ivy slow blinked Freckle yet? People who draw or animate cats need to know more about cats than how they look. Your guides to animating cats show the deep knowledge of a person who is owned by cats.
