Hitting another classic today (recorded in advance since I'm traveling today). Glad to finally sit down with this one. I feel like it lived up it the acclaim it's received.

It might be a classic to some. I bought it on CD in 1997 when I was in high school. I couldn't even name 4 songs off this album if my life depended on it. I always find it funny when people who weren't there when it happened start calling those things classics.

if you want to continue fugees journey, you should listen to their first album and wyclefs first album

the whole term "classic" is subjective and based off emotion, and not a scientific backed statement. there's some good singles on the album, streaming numbers show, but there's also a huge disparity in stream numbers between the album cuts and the singles. if you removed the singles, you'd have a mostly forgettable release.

I say go back n listen to the Chinese store skit just for a laugh. Great album, great reaction. Definitely is a classic! It was so different at that time.

"Pras" rhymes with Nas and Wyclef "Jean" is pronounced "John".

"Girl bled to death...tongue kissin a razor blade" (Wyclef's next line is) "THAT SOUNDS SICK MAYBE ONE DAY I'LL WRITE A HORROR" leading to him saying "Stevie Wonder sees crack babies"... The razor blade line was just a scary visual to set up the other examples of scary things that were apparent at the time.

What's even funnier about Pras' verse on the mask is he's facing charges/in jail for being an agent of the Chinese government. He was willing to spy just not for 25 cents an hour

I'm sorry Bob, but there's actually no way you've never heard this version of Killing Me softly lol. It's been played so fucking much for so long, it's pretty much impossible to have missed it. Also, you should check out Cannibal Ox - The Cold Vein and CunninLynguists - A Piece of Strange whenever you want to do a cult classic again!
