Doing a bonus vid this weekend since I have the time and it's been awhile since I've doubled up. As always. lots of options to choose from. I've been getting requests for Fakemink ever since the reaction to Rebel by Esdeekid, so I decided to check out his new release.

Enjoy!

As a long time watcher and subscriber, you dont have to listen to this new stuff 😂 the kids in discord suggesting artists like this have to even stop and convince themselves that this is "good music". Please more classics, I say all this with love for the channel and rap music !

It’s good to mix it up, the classics will always be there 👍

Thanks a lot !! So happy

"Mixing it up" would be playing a DJ Screw mix, or a Grime album, some smack DVD freestyles etc. These rage rappers aren't providing anything that'll get play past the season their album drops. Lets be real. I just dont see much of the purpose of reacting to these albums besides a "give the kids what they want" mentality. Bc anyone Bob's age ( or mine for that matter. Im 33) isnt going anywhere near a Fakemink album on their spare time.

The beats might be rage vibes but the content isn't exactly baseless or rage content. While it may be true that to you(and me, as well) these albums don't give you that "wow" factor. But the artists are making what they like, no matter what skill level you evaluate it as.

Every artist makes what they like. Whats the point of being one if you dont? That wasn't the point of my original comment though. What im getting at is: why keep opting for McDonald's when you have access to a quality chef and his expertise? And tbqh, I've only heard maybe two Fakemink songs. However I've kept my eye on the underground scene since the Raider Klan/Lil B era and im for certain hes not presenting anything worthwhile to the genre. A cool sounding song is just that, it sounds cool. But is it gonna stick with me 6 months from now when the next "cool" sound comes along? Thats the question I ask myself with most of these rage/underground guys and the answer is usalually no. FAakemink is far from the exception. And yes I can kind of be a snob about these things bc I been listening to rap for as long as I can remember. I could recite whole Eminem verses at 7/8 years old, its in my DNA atp. This isnt a brag. So if I have to be the snobby hiphophead in this little community to get my point across I'll be that gladly.

Ever heard of a bit of fun? Not everything has to be full of substance and heavy cultural impact/value. I am a big advocate for incredibly thoughtful and more traditional/classic hiphop, but sometimes it's fun to try something new. No idea if you watched the reaction at all, but Bob enjoyed himself and came away from it being interested to know more about fakemink and his music. Comparing this music to McDonald's is reductive and ignorant imo, especially given you've "heard maybe two Fakemink songs". You're missing out on a new scene full of innovative youngsters if you sneer at everything new. Don't knock it til you try it.

I like a good amount of new artists; 13degrees, zukenee, anycia, ken Carson. I know talent when I see it ;)
