Thanks so much for being so patient with me while I finished this behemoth of a two page spread off. Pages like this take a tremendous amount of time, but ultimately I think they’re worth it and I think they make the book worth owning when the printed edition eventually comes out later this year. Speaking of, I really appreciate the support that you give here on Patreon, it’s what keeps me afloat between book releases and I’m so damn grateful to you for that!

I’ve uploaded both a version with and without the speech boxes, but you can watch the Timelapse of me colouring this two page spread here: https://vimeo.com/927662704

And lastly, if you’re new here and you’re wandering where to get started, follow this link: https://www.patreon.com/posts/issue-8-ongoing-91659721?

Fantastic work on this brother

Riley Kim

the colors on this page are incredible!!

Fire_Warrior22

This looks amazing lad. Its nice to see that every species, independent of their size or natural environment, can find a safe harbour away from the storm, even if the calm might be slightly disturbed from time to time. The wanted posters and signs are also neat details, and they led me to ask if we will ever get an alphabet for the most common language and perhaps something that might help translate stuff.

Charlie Horse

Seriously good work on the color. And I agree with Fire_Warrior22, I love seeing so many of the species.

Gabu

You were right! The colors really spice it up:) It’s a wonder to think about the stories just in this passageway. Who broke that glass and made the bullet holes on the righthand side? What does the graffiti mean?

Gabu

Yeah! Maybe a gist of what the words are communicating?

Davide

The effort paid off, good job!

nicholas

So much detail. How do you produce such work so fast? If I tried that I would burn out.

Thanks so much mate, it’s always appreciated! Gosh an alphabet? That’s some Tolkien level stuff haha. Stuff like that gets very complicated because then I’ve got to come up with syntax, different types of vowels and also multiple non equivalent alphabets (because it wouldn’t be one to one with English because these are aliens that we’re talking about here). I think that’s just too much for me to take on and whilst I have read a few books on linguistics, I’m far from an expert 😅 Basically the lingua franca on this station is Kolaxan standard, because Janudua is run by a Kolaxan mob. We’ll meet them in the upcoming scene.

Thanks Gabu 🙏🏻 Exactly! It tells the story of a far from peaceful place, "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.”

CallumStephenDiggle

I didn’t think it was that fast 😅 but thanks Nicholas! I basically work on my art like it’s a full time job, I avoid burnout by having the weekends off and just completely turning my brain off when I’m away from the desk 😂 I usually garden, that’s a good one to avoid burnout.

Love the colours. Keep the eye candy coming dude.
