The next post will be a huge 2 page spread cutaway of the Zepplane, so you have that to look forward to next! I try to keep things interesting by splicing big pieces in among these more standard pages. This next one is going to take me a few days though for sure 😅

i like this one. love the fact that the pilot can float, as well as there are no handrails or seats

wait I thought the breimheinians were from a super earth planet. wouldn't he need heavier gasses or a vary dense atmosphere to be comfortable? meaning it wouldn't be less dense then chirons atmosphere? I'm not that knowledgeable abought super earths, are there atmospheres made up of helium and hydrogen even at ground level?

Shawn Bond

Hmmm…the heavier planet might result in a higher concentration of hydrogen and helium in the atmosphere (greater pull means relatively longer residency time in atmosphere than compared to Earth). Maybe the breimheinians reside at higher elevations where they capitalize on a rich hydrogen atmosphere?)

Shawn Bond

An insight into Breimheinian engineering…gives context. Human engineering would have a guard/lock on the valve to protect against accidents…the Breimheinians seem to have a high reliance on “operators”.

Blaine

Love the Breimheinians, one of my favorite species! So cool!

Thank youuu, they were one of the first aliens I designed for Humanity Lost but they’ve been around a lot longer than this project, they’ve been through quite a few iterations too.

CallumStephenDiggle

Yeah it was deliberate, it’s also a promise, he will kill that cruel god and right the wrongs of Humanity.

Max Fuller

Are the aliens in Humanity Lost able to make facial expressions? While I can imagine why alien facial expressions might look completely different from those of humans, and most other IRL animals we know-of don't really have facial expressions, I feel like the apparent lack of facial expressions on every character other than Loste in the story so far makes Humanity Lost emotionally-challenged at times. What do alien facial expressions look like, if they have any? How does the alien traveling with Loste feel about traveling with a human, the species that brutally colonized his planet and nearly took over the whole galaxy?

Max Fuller

I like this page because it provides a good (if rare) example of emotion in Humanity Lost

CallumStephenDiggle

There are some, not all though, some display emotion in a way that humans simply cannot comprehend. For example, the Kolaxans flash bioluminescent pigments into their upper tentacles to express mood. The question what do alien facial expressions look like is too general to answer man sorry, it’d have to be directed at each individual species as they all have unique ways of expressing themselves. it’s tough for them, but I think ultimately they realise that Losté is an individual and is not punishable for the sins of his people. Not to mention that Losté is quite literally a terminarch/endling, if there was a price to pay he has more than payed it. I will address this in future issues, Losté and Skiv (the Chantauri) will have the conversation.
