I’m going to keep issue 5 in one post so that it’s easy for new people who are just joining to find. I’ll continually update this post and send out a notification whenever a new page is available.

Also here is a link to the first 4 issues so people can catch-up or simply re-cap if they want.

Issues 1-4: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vhk60hrl7r37sxp/AAC1tMB_2FIn_GK_uqqYH2jva?dl=0

It goes without saying, but please do not share this link anywhere, I’m only a small creator and that would be extremely detrimental to me and this project.

Thank you so much for choosing to support my work, it means the world!

I really like that collar design. Weird resurgent fashion, which presumably also works as perfectly functional future material breathing mask.

CallumStephenDiggle

Thanks! Yeah, I’m a big fan of resurgent fashion and That’s right, it does!

The Orange Oof

A bit late to the party but when the protagonist had revisited their memories before hibernation in his capsule apartment, I could see the inspiration of the architecture from the Nagakin Capsule Tower!

CallumStephenDiggle

Relatively speaking, you’re very early. you’re in before the release of the physical book so that’s pretty early! Yes, that was a core reference that I used in their creation.

Isaac Solar

Yes. All-mother solved all of that by removing the human in "human rights" and just making everything right 😃

András Bojtor

The Wizard is a fellow Zdislaw Bekskinski fan, good taste my dude

vako vardishvili

so zdzislaw bekski's art explains why art style somtimes feels so familiar. GOOD JOB DUDEEE

vako vardishvili

also 7th issue cover looks like it's inspired by one of Warhammer art covers. am i right or just going bit mad?

people3786

4 years late but i just noticed on page 12 it says cognito ergo sum, AM is the reference to the other AM right?

people3786

also I like that theres still a goverment instead of a megacorp acting as the goverment body, it wouldnt make sense otherwise since the corporations wont have any higher governing body to bail them out

B_Cubed

Absolutely love this cover! Can’t wait to see where the story goes.

Andre Martins

Oughrigadd looks a little fucked-up up there, but pretty active…

2026-09-18 21:00 Ooh are we gonna get some backstory on Loste? Love it
2022-07-13 18:32

CallumStephenDiggle

Thanks so much! Yeah, I’m so excited to show you where this story goes, I’ve got so much planned!

CallumStephenDiggle

Yeah he took a big hit back in issue 4, all will be revealed what he’s doing here in the next few pages.

S. Fish

Your skill never ceases to awe me. I hope you know what an incredibly talented artist you are.

Cartoon dinosaur

wow it look as though lost (loste?) is being torn apart by powers beyond his understanding!!!

Miningation

My prediction today is that the psionic deprivation chamber was damaged and that Oughrigadd has the psionic power to tap into Losté’s consciousness just as Deicide was doing.

CallumStephenDiggle

Cor blimey I don’t know about that, but I’m honoured that you think so, thanks Quiency!

The United Liberia of Africa

Putting the pages in one post is a great idea. Makes it easier to read the books on my phone. Normally opening one post just allows you to see that one post, can't scroll to the next. Have to close out and go to the next one.

cubirk

no gravity generators? :c i wanted my cheese shaped planet

CallumStephenDiggle

Thanks, yeah, you live and you learn ay! I’d remove the tags on the other pages to make it easier for people to find the other collected issues, but there’s lots of great comments and conversations for people to dig through on there so I decided to keep them on there. Perhaps in the future I’ll have a big sort out on here where I create a new tag called single pages and put them in there just to streamline my Patreon account.

Anais Miguel Sanchez

Should't he regain his arm? I mean he is a super advanced human capable of doing things that for our current understanding of the universe seem like magic. We could see his son being able to absorve biological matter to regenerate his body i assume hi is able to do the same, the question is: why hasn't he done so?

CallumStephenDiggle

Well, the real answer is that I want to give him a really cool robot arm haha, but the lore accurate answer is that Overfathers need to return to their womb-world to repair their physical bodies. Uthipidus’ healing factor is unique to him.

Miningation

Hang on is that the Discovery 1?

Isaac Solar

i jus love having the power of perceptive analysis..

Thomas Rørby Petersen

I love the vision of the badass Uthipidus waving to Deicide and Losté :) A cute, tender moment :) (page 3).

Miningation

Oughrigadd is having a little nap.

Baguetti Beretti

Can't believe our boy Loste is technically a moon-man. Also I'm very curious how life on the moon was like, did everyone exercise to battle muscle loss due to the low gravity?

CallumStephenDiggle

People are extremely unfit on the moon, they’re neutralised through overstimulation and government prescribed narcotics. “Peace keepers” (militarised police.) from earth rule with an iron fist, their physical strength is sixteen times that of the lunarians because of the strength of earths gravity compared to the moons. that’s how the U.E. Likes the lunarians, placid and easy to rule. You’ll experience living standards under the centralised globalist neo-feudalist future of U.E. Governance. Spoiler alert, it’s a bit like what Klaus Schwab, executive chairman of the World economic forum has planned for us. But that’s all I’ll say for now. I can’t wait to show off the landscape pieces I’ve done for this issue.

Isaac Solar

*opens jaw in awe*, are you going to spoil us easily with these details?

Miningation

Deicide is a literal hazard for Losté because of all of his body spikes.

Snailem666

I am absolutely blown away with your work, can't wait for the day it's in print and I can hold it in my hands! Well-fucking-done 🙏

CallumStephenDiggle

That’s so nice of you to say, thanks very much! I can’t wait for that day too, it’ll be an absolute dream come true.

Cartoon dinosaur

I can only prey that we never end up in a system like what the WEF wants to enforce

CallumStephenDiggle

Thanks so much Thomas! The next page coming today will be the Uthipidus origin page.

Gabu

good ‘Point’ 😆

Gabu

Ooo! Story dump! Leader taking action toward his next goal as soon as it’s safe. I like you wrote Losté to be awkward but competent in the sense that he participates

CallumStephenDiggle

There’s no rest for these lot, the pressure is always on and Losté no matter how he feels about it is being dragged along for the ride! Thanks as always Gabriel 🙌🏻

Jayalen

Hi, is there a discord link? Thank you!

Thomas Rørby Petersen

Page 5 is all sorts of wonderful :D So, just to make sure: Everyone but the overfathers are clones, right? And they don't have reproductive organs? And they are all male? Humanity truly are lost :) What are they clones of? We haven't been told that, right? It feels like all of humanity is one person... and Losté.

Miningation

Beat you again Callum. Overfathers are designed by All-Mother herself, the AI that controls the Imperium. The Overfathers are clones, but they are are way superior to the conventional trooper since they have telekinesis and other wibbly wobbly telepathic stuff. They have no reproductive organs whatsoever, and no gender or sex. They are human clones, but a bunch of foreign DNA has been mixed in to create the most superior form of humanity possible, in All-Mother’s eyes at least. This goes for all Imperium troopers, and vehicles. They are all home grown humans in some way, but there is technology in the mix, e.g with the the turrets on the Imperium Breachers or Anomalocaris for example (see pages 108-116). Hope this answers your questions.

CallumStephenDiggle

Miningation beat me again damnit! haha but yes, everything he said was correct, thanks for replying in my stead, I couldn’t have summed it up better. I’d also add though that the clones come in “batches” with ever so slight genetic variations per “batch” to help them fight against biological weapons used by their enemies. A deadly virus may take out a few, but it’ll never take out a whole invasion force, this renders such weapons almost completely useless. There are also minor upgrades added to each batch, some changing a great deal to suit them to specialised environments, like high gravity ice worlds for example.

CallumStephenDiggle

Oh yeah it is, we’re going to have a bit of a flash back issue this time round, I’m going to take you back to a pre-AM activation lunar colony.

CallumStephenDiggle

Heck yeah it is 😁 we’re going back in time to Losté’s life as a private investigator on earths moon before the All-Mothers activation.

Thomas Rørby Petersen

Thank you, Cal. Those are important and thought provoking additions :D

Fakeman1943

I'm really enjoying this chapter so far, but these "psychic powers" really don't mesh well with the hard sci-fi feeling of this comic imo. Are these powers mystical in nature or are they just really advanced tech?

CallumStephenDiggle

The Psionics in Humanity Lost are an in-universe phenomenon which blends various ideas within the realms of metaphysics and physics. It can be partially explained by real world phenomena, but ultimately it goes beyond our modern understanding. It is based upon fields such as Electroencephalography, whereby brainwaves can be measured in the form of voltage fluctuation through electrodes placed outside of the skull, These voltage fluctuations result from ionic current within the neurons of the brain. This is one example of the extra-cranial mind and this is just one way of measuring brain activity outside of the skull. There is surely a myriad of ways of measuring this that are currently beyond our understanding. There are also various companies and research institutes working on developing robotic prosthetics that can be controlled by a user without the need for a neural implant. This also utilises extra-cranial brainwaves. Essentially what I’m getting at using loose terms is, your mind is not confined to your head. You have an aura around you, that much is clear, it is even measurable through scientific methods. It is sheer hubris for us to think that we, through modern science, can understand everything about human consciousness and dare I say… the soul or spirit. Here, we enter into the realm of the unknown and possibly, the unknowable. What psionics are in Humanity Lost are the mind/spirit being cast out from the being of emanation across space. Because of this, psionics can get around the universal speed limit of 299,792,458 meters per second. Only massless particles such as photons, which make up light, can travel at that speed, but Psionics can pass even that. The only beings that are capable of high level psionics in Humanity Lost are the Overfathers and the species known as the tandrax. Though, this ability did not occur naturally in them. They are both enhanced biologically altered life forms. Meaning the psionics you see in the story are the result of technology enhancing a naturally occurring phenomena. That’s why Losté is able to receive psionic messages from deicide, but not send them. Because psionics are the natural emanation of the mind. You can call psionics metaphysical, mystical or even extra-physical. But at the end of the day, it is not entirely impossible, at least not within the Humanity Lost Universe. I get where you’re coming from though, a lot of people came here for the speculative evolution side of things and they’re getting all this extra woo-woo psychic stuff, but this is just the way I wanted to write my universe you know? Thanks for the question! 😁

Fakeman1943

Thanks for answering my question!

Miningation

I like how you’ve used real world things to explain the psionics part of things rather than just having it be ‘It’s magic!’. You really HAVE thought of everything. And for that you get another well done: Well done 👏.

Miningation

Hang on are we going to see Belfast in Losté’s mind?

Cartoon dinosaur

this is probably going to be as informative for loste as for that overfather

CallumStephenDiggle

I was considering doing something along those lines originally. in reply to your question, yes they do. The galactic union (which is the name for all of the allied forces combined, including the Conglomerate within it.) know of both Losté and Belfast, they’ve both become a bit of a rallying cry for the free people’s of the Orion Spur.

Patrick Perkins

Love the explanation Callum. Just my two cents—I am here for the hard sci-fi, but I also think that hard sci-fi can be SO hard that it refuses to consider anything that hasn't been completely proven at the time of writing. Which is strange—it kinda assumes that all human progress halts and every discovery has already been made beyond recombinations of known technologies. It makes for very strange and antique writing, like old victorian futurism that imagines zeplins as the height of technology. So, I guess, for a sci-fi book to be believable to me, I NEED there to be strange and magical forces—at least as strange and magical as a home printer and computer with the internet would be to a 1500s peasant. And the flux and psionics really scratch that itch, very vivid and psychedelic without being just lazy deus et machinca magic.

Edward

What an amazing journey so far!

2026-09-18 21:00 Woah, Loste is giving me some Childish Gambino vibes. This is gonna get good.
2022-07-22 21:28

Miningation

Callum you are like a factory spewing out these pages at the moment, nice work.

Cartoon dinosaur

this man has been forced to eat(drink?) concrete since he was a child . this is what happened when he took an odd offer that seemed to good to be true. Next on poverty TV making you feel better abought you horrible situations by showing the worse of humanity since 2087 also side note from my joke but what is that thing on the ground in front of lostes bed? it kind of looks like a power strip or a kind of light bar for fish tanks

Miningation

I dunno but it’s plugged into something for charging I presume so it’s probably some fancy GoE gadget.

CallumStephenDiggle

Haha yeah I mentioned that I’d cast Donald Glover as Losté in the official discord server the other day, but that was an after thought.

CallumStephenDiggle

Heh heh actually I imagine it’s some type of bug protein Huel paste. Oh that’s a hand held holographic computer monitor, a user can cast stuff on it from their brain machine interface.

CallumStephenDiggle

Thanks so much, I feel like I’ve been getting into a rythem with my work flow at the moment. A page a day is really good for me, but with that being said I do need this weekend to recharge a bit aha

CallumStephenDiggle

That was a great comment Patrick, I agree with everything you said there! I like your example of retro futurism being applied to the present. I also think it’s good for us as a species, a people and as individuals, to accept that we don’t know everything and that there are some things that might actually be unknowable. I personally find that somewhat comforting and I’m at ease with the idea. It does raise an interesting question though, what are the limits of human understanding?

Miningation

That’s fine, take as much rest as you need. 👍

Miningation

I just noticed it says ‘Happy Birthday Sam’ on the front cover for Issue 5. I assume that’s Losté’s girlfriend which is shown in the other intersecting rings on the front cover?

Matheus de Souza Silva

hey someone could tell me if there's an set day every week when the new pages get released?

CallumStephenDiggle

I release new ones every weekday, 5 pages a week usually, I tend to take the weekends off 😁 there will be a new one coming Monday.

Tim Jones

Holy cow, a page per weekday? At this quality? That seems incredibly fast from what I know about webcomic production. You're really something else man, and your work is absolutely unique! I've never seen a piece of (relatively) hard science fiction with such fantastic setting and character design!

CallumStephenDiggle

Well thanks so much man, that’s very nice of you to say. I try to be productive with the time I spend at my desk, there’s no point procrastinating when there’s art to be made! Like many artists, I’m standing on the shoulders of giants, all of my designs are inspired by those creatives that came before me. I owe a lot to past and present creators like ron cobb, Syd mead, H.R. Giger, Zdzisław Beksiński, Wayne Barlowe, Simon Roy and so many more for inspiring me with their great work.

Diego Escobedo

I know you're probly tired of hearing this but any word on when this might get a physical release? I know this is definitely a "me problem" but it is difficult for me to enjoy this on my shitty little phone. Either way, love your work. I've been on a "spec evolution/ spec biology" kick and your work is definitely my favorite.

Miningation

I think Callum said he would try and contact a publisher after about 5 issues had been completed.

Cartoon dinosaur

wow that place looks very bleak and dystopian. Great work!!!

CallumStephenDiggle

Hey, so I’m working on trying to get a publisher for the book right now actually, but I’m not sure on when the release date will be, hopefully as soon as possible really, but I honestly don’t know. I really appreciate you supporting me on here while I work on the book though, thank you!

Mod 5ider

Loste is a PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR?! But he's so small and cute. I had no idea he was actually a badass

OpSihg_Stabr

Page 8 I immediately hypothesize that the Private Investigator and the Government official that the former was looking for got 'euphemistically disappeared' due to running afoul of the Pro-'Allmother' faction.

CallumStephenDiggle

Oh he’s a badass alright, you’ll see his true colours shine as the series goes on, I’ve got an awesome arc planned for him.

Gabu

There’s a humble future giant standing on the shoulders of giants!

Brian Kim

Ugh...I know sometime fashion can be cyclical but ruff!!!

Andre Martins

Do I see some inspiration coming from “The Expanse” with the PI and the moon city thing? That’s all cool man, your storytelling is way better than theirs… nice touch.

CallumStephenDiggle

Oh yeah bro, there’s inspiration from the expanse in there for sure, especially with the space battles. Thanks so much, I don’t know about that though, those first few seasons were pretty great! I haven’t read the books mind you and I don’t tend to read the books for things that I’ve already seen, because I already know what to expect, Lord of the rings was the exception to this rule of course.

Bruno Barrios

That's how I picture the future. Most of us will be living in pods.

Gabu

It’s good to see inspiration put into new work, and I appreciate how you provide an artist statement so readily for your work.Respect for reading Tolkien after seeing the movies👍🏻

Kenneth

A mate of mine was actually involved in a Manila startup to put coffin-style living spaces together, like in Neuromancer, a few years ago after call centre agents started to need to travel from provincial suburbs into the city for jobs that started at 2AM. Tried to address the massive public transportation, safety, and rent/housing issue all at once. It didn't take off, unfortunately, but I could see people opting for this, or something smaller, out of cost, convenience and safety.

Isaac Solar

They have a tripod robot like that? They mimic insect-like features, no wonder the Imperium now depends on actual biological morphs of ships, troopers, tanking force, etc. The features were intended to be mimicked!

Brian Barth

Amazing stuff! I'm totally hooked.

Cartoon dinosaur

my goodness what on Luna is that odd looking mech thing designed for?

Bruno Barrios

I love how the design of the UE mech is a "sneak peek" of sorts to the insectoid aesthetic of the Imperium. Awesome attention to detail man.

CallumStephenDiggle

“Peacekeeping”. It’s designed primarily for surface engagements, but it functions perfectly well inside of the terraformed lava tubes as well.

Miningation

Is there some kind of rivalry between all Lunarians and all Earthers?

Miningation

New Patreon design go brr

CallumStephenDiggle

There is indeed, there’s a separatist/secessionist movement that is both egged on and funded by the free nations of earth.

Miningation

App. Buttons are in different locations, profile pictures have a new border and a few other things. I’ll send a screenshot to you.

Etowno

great stuff. what's the lore on how they filled the lava tubes with air to breathe?

Eldiabeto

I like how they have advanced biological engineering, psychic powers, and FTL, but replicating gravity? Nah, can't be done.

Miningation

It might have something to do with the way lunarians adapted to the environment in the lava tubes.

CallumStephenDiggle

It’s just a result of the global nature of the U.E. There are no borders, so movement of populations is not restricted. The average citizen of the U.E. is mixed-race with a majority of their admixture coming from sub-Saharan Africa, hence why they appear black.

CallumStephenDiggle

Haha dems the rules! They do have centrifuges and Linear acceleration to simulate gravity, so that’s not entirely true, there just aren’t any gravity generators.

CallumStephenDiggle

They sealed them off from the surface, loaded them with ice from the poles and from the Lunar regolith, created a network of mirrors to redirect sunlight into the tube networks, bioengineered super algae to produce a breathable environment along with other terraforming methods, kept going with introducing more and more elements to make it liveable and eventually after a hundred or so years, the project was complete!

Rato Godoy

would be faster to just use electrolysis to break down the water into oxygen and hydrogen, that way they would get hydrolox(rocket fuel) AND hydrox atmosphere, but hydrox is a bit dangerous(very flamable, a single cigarette would be deadly) so they could also import inert gases like Helium, one of the main things that make the moon economically interesting to us would be helium3, so they could use waste helium2 to make the atmosphere less explosive

Patrick Perkins

Just caught the "Covid 389" bit. Made me smile :)

Miningation

No way it actually says Covid 389.

CJ

So do the "peacekeepers" always wear white uniforms and use white vehicles? Or do they have different colors/camouflage for when they're in other environments?

Generally speaking, they wear white and Beige, but they also have camouflage uniform variants for different environments.

2026-09-18 21:00 Ohhhhh man, looks like his contact was aware of the AM project. Kick ass. This is gonna be good!
2022-08-02 18:00

CallumStephenDiggle

I haven’t upgraded it but I have wiped everything off it that isn’t absolutely needed. I’ve only got the current pages of issue 5 and the Patreon app, so it’s pretty empty of data. Safe to say it’s up and running like a whippet! Fingers crossed it stays that way ey🤞🏻

Michael Ruiz

The collar is a filter/rebreather?

Gabu

Versitile! You thought of a lot of detail, bro (Ruiz beat me to the comment😆) Number Gross (144)

Gabu

I’m diggin’ the Diggle style of layered poses — like Losté here both reading and also hold the page. Re-read from the beginning on a big screen and got more of these kind of details. How did you come this panel-wall breaking? Have you read Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud?

CallumStephenDiggle

You could say you’re… Diggling it… I’m not sure really, I may have subconsciously picked it up from somewhere or perhaps It’s a product of intuition. Im afraid I have not, I probably should at some point though!

Rato Godoy

Tsiolkovski plaza? as in Konstantin Tsiolkovski? father of rocketry? nice detail.

Ok Nice

allied mastercomputer??????

Miningation

That shine on the window better not be a sniper glint.

CallumStephenDiggle

I Must admit, I was very inspired by I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream when I read it as a young man and I did in fact use the initials AM as an homage to Harlan Ellison’s excellent short story.

CallumStephenDiggle

You’re always ahead of the curve mate 😂 well done on calling it again!

Miningation

My ability to reply to comments has stopped working.

CallumStephenDiggle

This bloody platform ay! If you just reply as another comment I’ll figure out what it is in reply to 👍

cubirk

I have really bad wifi so it does take a while to load the images Could you make a vote so you stop posting like before Oh and like that the respirator looks like one of those old fashion statements like early 14 century i think so

Miningation

Cubirk if you are having trouble scrolling back down to the post because of other subscriptions then you can just view Callum’s posts by tapping on his profile and going to ‘posts’. The reason it’s like this is so new patrons can find pages easier.

CallumStephenDiggle

Oh damn, sorry about that man! I think maybe because it’s on a single post with multiple high resolution files it takes up a bit more bandwidth. I’ll make this the pinned post and start uploading single pages again 👍 Thanks! Update: I’ve started posting single pages now, so we should be able to get around that problem going forwards.

Andrzej Pazdalski

I'v just realised that I'v missed last 14 pages because notification emails were showing same picture over and over and I didn't bother to read the messages.

CallumStephenDiggle

Oh my 🤦‍♂️ You must have thought I’d abandoned you haha. Well, there’s plenty of content there to catch up on Andrzej, enjoy!

Ryan

I didn’t even see this and I can’t open the pucs for some reason

CallumStephenDiggle

Oh really? Do you think I should upload all the previous individual pages?

Pierre Martin

Same haha, I thought you were taking a break ^^ Time to binge!

Ryan

Or dm me the pages i just saw the recent one and was like “what the fuck is going on” lol

Shawn Bond

Someone already commented…but I just had to say, “Open the pod bay doors, HAL”. Okay, I’m good, thanks 😊

Eli Valtus

are you going to publish the comic after you finish it?

CallumStephenDiggle

I’m going to try to, ideally with one of the big publishing houses like Image or Humanoids.

Eli Valtus

Have you consider a kickstarter so we can getr a sweet hardcover omnibus?

The Raff

great stuff, enjoying the read

Pika⭕Pika

I enjoy reading the entire issue in one go but it's been hard not to take a peek at what's been posted so far. When do you think issue 5 will be complete?

CallumStephenDiggle

Hey Cliff, thanks for sticking with me, I know the waits between issues can be long, these things take a long time to put together. Issue 5 will likely be completed within a month I think, I’m about half way through at the moment.

CallumStephenDiggle

Thanks Thomas, I’m really glad to hear it! There will be a new page up later today hopefully. I went absolutely crazy on the colours this time so it took me quite a bit longer than the usual pages 😅

Philip

The society of the future could not cope with poverty, inequality, cultural difference and ghettos? They didn't lose much because of All mother after all:(

The Raff

wondering what your influences are. I can see some moebius influence, as well as possibly some berserk and maybe warhammer 40k

Thomas Rørby Petersen

I love the colors of page 16, and the way you show the reflection af the different colors of light :) Gorgeous!

CallumStephenDiggle

Thanks so much Thomas, I was really happy with the way the light turned out on this one, I’m trying something similar for the next page as well.

CallumStephenDiggle

I’d say my largest influences are the Prophet reboot, The original few halo games and books, Nausicaa of the valley of the wind manga by hayao miyazaki, definitely moebius too. Basically most of the stuff that I grew up with really!

Bam Mulrooney

Doubt the human species is ever will. We are a species that functions on the tribal level. With a sense of delicious irony, I would contend that AM has actually done away with all that…at least from a perspective of inter-Human interactions. The species no longer concerns itself with such individual notions of “inalienable rights” and the baggage of class, economy, and cultural distinctions. 😃
