As promised, I’m back with another fresh page. I feel like I’m really hitting my stride after finishing that big two page spread. I’m going to start another page now, let’s see if I can have something ready to show you by tomorrow.

Oh I didn’t fully realise the scale of the thought lords, in the first instance when they appeared they seemed way bigger, anyways as always love the page and it’s colours!

I struggle with depicting scale correctly at times, it’s hard because I sometimes want to include certain things in the frame of view and I also want to make certain character details visible. I’ll just say the Thought-Lords were a little bit in-front of that dropship in those initial panels haha

Thor can go toe to toe with the Hulk, so it has gotta be the Lord of thunder that takes home the belt in this match.

The Hulk isn't very intelligent or fast but an Overfather is both and more, Thor seems to only have human reaction times so an Overfather could just dodge every attack.

You raise a good point, I guess it comes down to whether Thor could land a hit or get hold of the Over-Father. I’m not sure on Thor’s power levels, but if he’s comparable to the Hulk, then he would likely crush an Over-Father like a tin can.

Oh, so the thought Lords were that far from deicide. Now they're much more badass, I imagine them attacking at a planet and the inhabitants wouldn't even realise where the beam came from.

The Thought-Lords very rarely leave the Inner Sanctum of the Defensive membrane, but if they were to, that’d be a truly terrifying sight. You painted a good picture there, of the disarray, terror and shock and awe that the Thought-Lords could induce in their enemies.

There’s definitely a limit to the penetrative force, but in order to stop the beam you’d need to have some form of exotic material that can resist it or alternatively you could have extremely thick object.

Are the thought lords wearing a coffin shaped suit, or does their more human overfather shape metamorphose into the coffin shape as they become older? Also, this scene is awesome

It’s to do with psionics. The Over-Fathers have incredible psionic abilities and their suits are layered with a mesh of psionic enhancing technology. You’ve seen the flux universe in the story so far, but in Humanity Lost there are many parallel universes to our own that obey different fundamental laws. When Over-Fathers fire their beams, they are channeling energy through themselves from another universe of pure exotic energy. The power of these beams is limited by the individuals psionic potential. This stuff will be explained within the narrative later on, I’ve just got to find a way for it to flow naturally in the dialogue.

I imagine it’s something akin to that, it is stored in the thigh and calf sections of the armour and only allows for a quick burst of propulsion. Just enough to gain the momentum and then to allow the inertia and his psionics to guide him the rest of the way. It wouldn’t have evolved, it was bio-engineered. Thanks Gabu, I’m glad to hear it ☺️
