I hope you all had a great weekend. It might not look like much, but I set myself quite a task with this one. I hadn’t hitherto drawn a top down scene before, but I wanted to challenge myself with something new in order to add a bit of visual variety to these “talking head” pages where the characters are interacting. I’ll tell you what, it might seem like a strange thing to get stuck on, but I had my work cut out for me drawing those computer modules in perspective 😅 I got there in the end, but it was a oddly hard thing to figure out.

I’ll have the colours for this one up on Patreon tomorrow, ask me any questions that you might have in the comments of this post 😁

I appreciate the fact you have a measured approach to storytelling. It keeps the characters crisp and flexible

I wonder who loste is going to meet, a certain wizard perhaps? Is it gonna be like “You again?!”, also I love the top down angle for the three way conversation great job

Agreed, I like the change in perspective. For inspiration to blocking, I always go to “I, Claudius”.

Heh well I’ll leave the mystery there because you’ll find out soon enough. Ah, thanks a lot Isaac 😁

BBC mini series on the Juno-Claudian dynasty of Rome. They were limited in set locations…really no scenery yo showcase…so put a lot of effort in blocking dialogue in a lot of dynamic and creative ways to keep it engaging.
