I went with the name Janudua for the station in the end, it’s a mash up of the name Janus (the name of the two faced animistic spirit (januae) and archways (jani)) and the word dual meaning two. In universe it’s just an alien word, perhaps named after a founder.

The idea behind this station is that the two asteroids have been tied together using a system of tethers. These tethers thread into two containment bags that wrap around each asteroid. The containment bags stop debris from falling away from the loose asteroids and also double as solar energy collectors. The two asteroids have been “spun up”, meaning the whole station acts as one humongous centrifuge. The centrifugal nature of the station provides the sensation of being in a gravity well for its inhabitants. The closer to the centre of the station that you go, the lighter you feel, until you are completely weightless. At the very core of the station is the dual docking ports which counter rotate relative to the station, negating any spinning.

If you travel down towards either asteroid, you feel gradually heavier. This makes the station a very accommodating place for all species. The city seen in between the two colossal rocks is comprised of independently pressurised habitats, meaning that each species has their own area located at a level which simulates their home planets gravity and atmospheric conditions. There are also mixed spaces and as you go down into the asteroids themselves, you’ll see pressurised cavern like areas filled with open air bazaars and other wonders (we will see those soon).

Thanks so much as always, I really do appreciate your support!

Very creative concept, all living beings have got their ideal gravity. And part of the structure remember me an onion, i'm hungry now

Now this is what I love about Humanity Lost. As for this image, its epic. The lack of ambient light on the dark side and harsh shadows--- Thats space for sure! I love the lumps and bumps showing through the cover. Great stuff is coming from the sound of it.

Space car?

Galm_1

I fucking love this station’s design. The spiny walmart bag city. Inspired.

Justin Huynh

Reminds me of those concept inflatable space station and lunar base modules.

Thanks Charlie, you’re too kind. I think you’ll like what’s coming too, lots of aliens bustling about markets filled with oddities in vast pressurised caverns within the asteroid.

CallumStephenDiggle

Oh I love those things, the ESA ones or the bigelow aerospace ones? Either way, hopefully one day we’ll see one on the lunar surface 🤞🏻

This looks awesome it sort of reminds me of the Unyielding Hirophant from halo Excellent job here

Ryan

I was expecting the covers to be gold for some reason

My apologies I meant no offence, I just wanted to say how amazing the station looked and how it’s silhouette reminds me of one of my favourite ships in fiction

CallumStephenDiggle

Oh no I meant a deep cut as in an obscure reference haha I appreciate it Issac, cheers mate!

Ryan

It would’ve looked dope too imho
