Gyaruko New Song Work Log (갸루코 신곡 작업 일지) (Patreon)

At long last, we’re making Gyaruko’s animated music video!

We’re all in high spirits for this one, as Gyaruko has been ranked as our team’s favourite character.

You might have already seen her in our video Minako's room♡.

Initially, we had given her a simple role as a gyaru friend to our main protagonist Minako. I was pondering what kind of name I should give her, when my manager said ‘How about we just call her Gyaruko?’

What’s funny is, I turned it down on the spot back then, as it sounded too obvious. But eventually it had grown on me, as the more I thought about it, the more I became convinced that Gyaruko is the perfect name for this character.

So, that was the story behind how Gyaruko got her name. As we worked on our story, she turned out being a cool-type tsundere girl.

Passionate, while somewhat oblivious to her surroundings due to her hot-headed nature, Gyaruko is the character who puts herself out for everything that is for the sisterhood of Pink B**ch Club.

On one hand, Gyaruko seems the type who you can truly trust and depend on, while on the other, you might find her friendship-over-everything outlook rather heartbreaking.

Working on her view of friendship, the theme of our new video is ‘sisterhood for life.’

Following is the synopsis for the video:

Gyaruko, once a notorious member of a biker gang, had been betrayed by her once-trusted gang members. Taken under the wings by her classmate Minako, Gyaruko plans her retribution together with her newfound friend.

Touched by how Minako has shown her the true way of friendship, Gyaruko pledges her loyalty to Minako and ends up becoming the founding member of Pink B**ch Club.

So there it is. It may be a rather simple story, but as a creator, it brims me with the imagery of the scenes I would like to try out!

Starting with Gyaruko with tokkō-fuku, the characteristic uniform of Japanese biker gangs, to the scene of Gyaruko in the rain, wounded and scarred, betrayed by her once-trusted gang.

We are so excited to reveal you soon what we are planning on!

We have already sent to the music composer the references for the song for the video, and are currently waiting on the demo track to come out.
