[ENG] Ivan’s Creation Process (First Concept & Character design) (Patreon)

Ivan is a difficult man in many ways. The personality and drawing are all difficult. That's why it makes him an attractive character! This month's Patreon’s post will talk about Ivan's creation process.

In the early days, Ivan was a cheerful and gentle brother-like character who encouraged others well. His apperance has a cool impression with blue hair and yellow eyes. Now that we look at it, he is the character that has changed the most from the beginning of the Alien Stage.

Making a Character Impression

1st Character Design: CALLNONG & QMENG

This is the first character design developed based on the character design of Vivinos. Rather than choosing the costume first, it was a priority to make an impression on the character. We added the cheerful and chic image that Vivinos wanted.

Costume Design

2nd Character Design: QMENG

Now that we have found your impression, we designed the character's costumes. Based on the formal outfit that QMNEG designed, Yongjeonsa started to design the signature stage outfit.

3rd Character Design: yongjeonsa

Ivan's costume theme was a 'uniform'. Black and dark blue were used as his main color to emphasize his overall chic and cold impression. However, because the overall outfit is very simple, we put an advertisement on his uniform and balanced it with other characters. Also, unlike other participants, he uses a microphone stand. A star was designed on his gloves so that the silhouette of his gloves could caught the eye when he held the standing microphone in his hand. Although this setting was not reflected in the video.

Final Character Design: QMENG

The final character design was done by QMENG. Considering the various processes of animation, QMENG refined the character design of YONGJEONSA. IVAN is a combination of the character characteristics of Vivinos and QMENG + the character design of YONGJEONSA! It was an erratic, but after making it, wer were proud of how popular he was.
