Huge updates to HTD App! (Patreon)

Happy Memorial day weekend everybody! I need to make a whole video update to walk through all the upgrades and new features I have just pushed into the production build of the HTD App but I won't have time to do that for a couple more days...

But I was too excited to wait.

The screen recording above shows a quick demo of the latest build. In addition to drink versions now stacking, navigation by carousel mode (grid is still accessible via a toggle), a huge number of under the hood upgrades that are already letting Meredith and I cleanup and expand the dataset I have made the "Ingredient Assistant" live.

Click the little camera icon, take a picture of your ingredients, and it'll tell you what you can make. Want to let it know you also have some oranges, or a bottle of grenadine? Go ahead, it's fully conversational. You can click into drinks and return to the ingredient assistant and pick up exactly where you left off, it preserves the session conversation state.

(the reason you see me choosing an image file instead of just taking a picture is because this is a screen recording from my desktop. On a phone you'll just take a picture)

Now this is still in kind of early testing, so be a little forgiving of any weird quirks you find with it, but I need to push it into production to make sure it can scale- I'm not actually sure what's going to happen when a bunch of users start using it.

Years ago we discussed making some kind of a cocktail app, but I refused because I hated the experience of having to manually log in and catalog all of my ingredients. I wanted to use image recognition, and knew it could be done, I just didn't have the resources to do it. I finally can!
