The first observed eastbound transit occurred on June 25th, when the three ships

passed through La Pérouse Strait from the Sea of Japan into the Sea of Okhotsk.

Then, less than a month later, on July 20th, Japan observed essentially the same

formation making another eastbound passage through the strait.

On August 10th, it happened again. An Amga-class missile transport, once again

escorted by 921 and 924, was observed heading east into the Sea of Okhotsk.

Finally, on August 27th, Japan observed the formation heading back west through La

Pérouse Strait and returning to the Sea of Japan.
