Here is the interior spaces of the Spru-can.

I've been working on the lecture all week. Found lots of interesting stories to share. I'm organizing the PowerPoint into order over the weekend.  Will have more photos and updates for you next week.

Will you be including the Kidd Class in the brief?

Aaron Amick

The Kidd Class will be its own lecture.

Jive, do you know the thought process of placing the CIC in the superstructure, rather than in a less vulnerable position such as below the waterline? It's going to get shot up, no? We have the bridge up there already. On a submarine, isn't the CIC the main combat portion and the bridge is, like, tiny in comparison?

Aaron Amick

The 'bridge' for an American submarine is only used while surface transiting because it's in the sail. A free flood area. The control room is in the main part of the sub and the 'Conn' is the very small part around the Periscopes.

Kidd Class will be its own lecture in the future.
