About a month ago, the Sub Brief discord channel was reported for violating Discord's terms of service. Discord informed me of the complaint and began an investigation. Numerous violations were brought to my attention. This kind of discussion is not in keeping with my personal and professional values.

As the sole person responsible for behavior and conversation on my channels, I have made the decision to shut down the Sub Brief Discord channel indefinitely.

What a world we live in...

SentientKudzu

what in the world was going on in the discord in order to elicit this response? Like generally speaking discord can't be bothered.

The pentagon is too zealous. My wife is pentagon. Maybe you uttered a word they want classified… it’s a real problem of over classification

Sad, I very much enjoyed the discord group. Of course it only takes one or two people to ruin it.

Alex the social choice and voting theory nerd

Was never a part of the discord community, and as much as I want to hear juicy gossip here, it sounds like you are doing the right thing and taking responsibility for the spaces you manage. Still sucks though. I hope no one got hurt.

Aaron with extreme ownership. Good on you. We are here for the SubBriefs anyway!

its a full team imo that needs to be running 24/7 on a platform like discord, as well, people going to people, and ruin it for everyone (cause people)

Considering the things I see said on the internet by the stupid, ignorant, or just plain malicious, this doesn’t catch me by surprise. What does surprise me is that it was a group of people that coalesced around you. You’ve been an excellent role model and source of transparent, high quality research and documentation, so it’s a damn shame you found yourself surrounded by this kind of behaviour. Appreciate the ultimate responsibility and the actions you’ve taken to affirm your beliefs and values. Proud of you for this one Aaron.

That's too bad man, but good on you for doing it.

Dayton

That's too bad. I was just today wondering where it had gone as I wanted to congratulate you on your recent channel views and subscriber increase. Nevertheless, keep up the good work, Aaron!
