I think people just focus everything on not liking Korra during the civil wars episodes and one other story beat they haven't reached, and forget about all the amazing stuff in the season.

In regard to WonShiTun "knowing 10,000 things", I've been told that in Chinese mythology, 10,000 is used as a metaphor for "everything", rather than a limited number. Could be wrong though.

It's not been mentioned much, but a big shout for the music score! it was good in ATLA, but Zuckerman really lifted his game for Korra. Just haunting and beautiful.

You’re not wrong, though I would say 10,000 doesn’t mean “everything” as much as it means “more than can (easily) be counted”. I don’t think it’s meant to imply measurelessness or infinity but more like we would use “a million” in English

Yeah I think most of the Season 2 haters were the general Korra haters that realized the first season was actually pretty good and couldn’t find enough with it to complain about. Season 2 has some objectively iffy parts and has some subjectively controversial decisions but overall it has amazing character moments, takes great risks, and introduces Varrick and Zhu-Li who are two of my favorite characters. Korra is an amazing show that deserves its place alongside AtLA.

I totally agree, the whole mako storyline was a bit meh from the start but for korra specifically it's such a strong season she really shines in some dark moments

I think it’s more they had things they wanted to do but wrote themselves in a corner by trying to keep the same sort of group and formula as ATLA which I bet was part of the studio struggle they had
