Yay!! Korra! Watching this instead of finishing my prep for Cyclone Alfred (Brisbane). You guys are the best.

azulaghoul

Stefan

just remeber the first ever time we see toph and then think of this scene the poeticniss of it all

Yo LOK fans, what does the contract actually say?! I think there's a real translation 🤔

Now that you've seen all our villains and finished s3, I will finally say that at the end of the day, where ATLA is about characters and their growth from experiences with each other, Korra is ultimately about the ideologies of her foes, and what makes them extremists but also what she can learn from each them and how to use those lessons to help create balance in the world. By each season: S1: Communism, how equality is good, how people are suffering in a newly industrial world, but ultimately Amon represents corruption, greed, lies S2: Theocracy, how forcing beliefs, perverting and corrupting beliefs and using them for oppression are evil but ultimately they need the spirits in order to live in harmony. S3: Anarchy. While oppressive rulers and systems of government are awful, pure chaos can't be the replacement and political violence is bad. S4: We get Fascism. You will have to wait and see how that plays out.

If you remember back in Book 2 of ATLA, Aang had a vision of Toph playing in the swamp, and now it’s revealed that Toph spent a lot of time here as an adult. It’s really cool how that storyline comes full circle. As we all know, time is an illusion (and so are pants) lol

Brandon Tracy-Hurst

I have also always felt like this season mirrors Star Wars, especially Toph chilling in a swamp like Yoda in this episode.

Zayden

"you know...as a girl" *cough*😏

tomthenooks

That gasp was EVERYTHING during the Toph reveal. Fuck yeah x)

The wall of avatars is one of my favorite jokes, the way he's still doing the marble trick thing LOL

Fun fact: Kuvira is voiced by Zelda Williams daughter of Robin Williams

If you guys are craving more avatar content, I recommend the Kyoshi books by F.C. Yee. (I am currently reading the Yangchen book so I will let you know how that goes, but I'm sure it's just as good)

Toph: do you really think friendships can last more than one lifetime. *one lifetime later* Nice to see you again twinkletoes.

The Kyoshi books were really good. I’m having more trouble getting into Yangchen’s story.

23:12 You sound like Zuko trying to do Uncle Iroh 🤣

David Elligott

This show uses the legacy characters so well. It gives us just enough to be satisfied but lets the main characters of the show shine

Artemis Delphinia

So many people who reacted to episode 2 got spoiled by the captions that Toph was speaking so I'm so glad you didn't have any on lmao.
