KayJayO

“looks like Billy Butcher” yep that’s him My brain can never comprehend that he plays Eomer, Billy Butcher, and Leonard McCoy lol

KayJayO

Also let me be the first to do the thing: Did you know Viggo Morrinson actually broke his toe when he kicked the helmet—

Ömer Sakmar

Aragorn's not half-elf. But he does have some elvish blood. And he's a distant cousin to Arwen. The reason why he lives more than three times the life of a normal man is because he's from Numenor. Another LOTR geek might correct me when I say this but, to cut it short, Numenoreans are closer to elves than men also, congrats on the pregnancy

MetalBabe Sami

My life has been just pure shit lately and these uncut videos have made me so happy. Thank you! Also I hope you guys got my baby gift in the mail 😁

Bookwormy

Marcos Paulo

I was living that comment to the end to see if he'd comment on the reaction, but nope.

Saphthings

Just as an FYI, the rope unbinding, the cape hiding them. Y'all kept thinking it was luck and kept missing that these are magical items Galadriel gave them lol. Every time you didn't get it I was like, "magical items!!"

Kelsey

They said his name in the reaction 🙂

Bookwormy

I thought he may be spotted, but nope. Gigi and Chucky. Hehehe.

Bookwormy

It is indeed! Daddy Chucky and Mischievous Gigi. haha

Nemo-the-Red

I love theirs, but I personally prefer the March of the Ents

Ash

Ash

I loved the Gandalf reveal reaction. And it took me way to long to figure out Treebeard is voiced by Gimli!

Jacob Young

Lindsay Mathieson

Gah, Two Towers and Rohan especially makes me miss home, I grew up in the South of NZ, travelled through Otago a lot.

Yeah that's Karl Urban aka Billy Butcher. If you want to see him in something else I'd highly recommend Dredd (2016), you guys would love it and his performance

Pat_Bez

Lol that SCREAM!

Pat_Bez

Andy FN Serkis! This kinda performance was genuinely unheard of at the time. 2002 was definitely the year of Gollum

Bookwormy

Yes, Dreadd is awesome!

Abraham Lever

The Ent Wives preferred gardens, while the Ents preferred the deep places in the forest. Over time they saw less and less of each other. This story takes place at the end of the Third Age. But I believe it was the great battle that happened at the end of the First Age, which resulted in a huge part of the land being permanently sunk under the sea. Unfortunately, this area included the land that contained the gardens that the Ent Wives tended. So whether Tree Beard knows it or not, the Ent Wives are all dead by this time.

I absolutely love that moment with Wormtongue and Saruman on the balcony, when that single tear goes down Wormtongue’s face. Wormtongue obviously did this for riches and power, and to possess the girl that he lusted after. But at that moment, he is actually realizing that Saruman intends to wipe out his people entirely. And the horse that came and saved Aragorn is Brego, the horse that he had them release that had been the Prince of Rohan’s horse, before the Prince died.

I know that they do not do a very good job explaining why entering the Forbidden Pool would mean death in the movie. This is thoroughly explained in the book. Basically, the camp that the Gondor Rangers use, behind the waterfall, is a secret camp. If anyone that shouldn’t know about it, would find out about it, that would be a big breach of their security and therefore dangerous for the rangers. That’s why they would kill anyone they found in the Forbidden Pool.

To give you a little context about why Sam calls Frodo, Mr. Frodo, it is totally related to the class system in England at the time that these stories were written. These books were published just a few years after World War II. And JRR Tolkien fought in World War I. When Tolkien was part of the British military, British officers were assigned someone called a Bat Man. These men were basically the officer’s personal servants. Because of the British class system, the Officers came from the gentleman class, and the Bat Men came from the working class. But because these men served together in war, they often formed very close bonds, in a way that was unusual for people from different social classes at that time. In fact, frequently the Bat Men would go onto work for their officers in some type of capacity after they both left military service. And while it is understandable for us to not be comfortable with these types of distinctions today, it was this relationship that Tolkien was using as a model for Sam and Frodo. In the books, Frodo, Merry and Pippin are supposed to be like young gentleman. While Sam, and his father, who he refers to as my old Gaffer, are gardeners who worked for Bilbo and Frodo. Lots of people have that same reaction that you are having about Sam always referring to Frodo as Mr. Frodo. But this is where that comes from. Regardless of how close they got, the formality of those class distinctions played a big role in how they treated each other. I always love hearing people who watch these movies decide they want to read the books. Tolkien has a verydistinct writing style. And it is definitely not the typical thing you would find from today’s authors. I always caution people that the first few chapters of the first book may feel a bit slow and hard to get into. But I guarantee that if you persevere you will find it very rewarding. One of the great things about these movies is that they use a lot of Tolkien’s beautiful dialogue. Although when you start to read the books you will find that some of the dialogue has been taken from one character and given to another, and at different places in the movies then you will find it in the books. The books definitely add a lot of depth to the characters, and the story as a whole, that the movie just didn’t have the ability to get into. If you ever have the opportunity to share with your viewers what you think about the books, I’m sure people would enjoy hearing about it.

Sam's speech at the end there...I go back to it over and over. It made me cry when I first watched the movie 20 years ago and it makes me cry now. Excited to watch ROTK with you guys!

Miiitorta

Brendan R Colquitt

Love the pink pony club references! Makes me feel comfy here

Sam's speech sometimes gives me a lot of hope in today's world. Sometimes it doesn't work out in real life that good overcomes evil, but I do have some hope. Wonderful watching the movies with ya'll this way, it's so fun to see a first time reaction to something. :)

L84reality

And pippin is billy Boyd who voices glen/glenda in seed of chucky ❤️

Dumbbird

It's not really covered in the films, but Saruman was always very jealous of Gandalf. Even though Saruman arrived on middle earth as the "leader" (just to keep it simple) of the wizards, Gandalf was almost immediately entrusted with a ring of power, and through history was considered by the Elves and many other as the wisest. When a council was formed with some of the wizards and others like Galadriel and Elrond, Gandalf was offered the job as the leader due to this belief he was the wisest, and Saruman only then got the position instead because Gandalf refused it, as he didnt want to be bound by such a role. His ego from being the leader, and not being respected as much or being first choice for things like the council, didn't go well together.

Bridgette. have you read the books yet? im so curious what you think of them ^^
